Back to the basics

BACK TO THE BASICS!1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1)The first thing that comes to mind when the average Christian hears back to the basics is the cross. We immediately think salvation, but that is not the beginning. Week after week in Churches all over the world, people keep going back to the alter to get saved. One of the greatest weapons the enemy has used against us is doubt in who we really are. If you have accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior, you believe in His finished work on the cross, then you are saved and all your sins have been forgiven. All means all past, present and future. Stop dwelling on every time you make a mistake. You are unfortunately still in this human form and will do that which you shouldn’t from time to time. You can judge your growth in the spirit realm when these occurrences happen less and less frequent and by the fact when they do happen, you are immediately convicted, and you repent and move on.Remember when Paul was speaking to the believers in Hebrews 5, he told them they should be teachers, but they still needed to be taught. When they should have been partaking of the meat of the Gospel they were still drinking the milk and because of that they could not progress in the things of God. It is time to get off the milk of the word and get to the meat. There is much to do so let’s grow up and get busy fulfilling our creative purpose. If we are to be true Kingdom builders then we need to go back to our original intended purpose for being here. John 1:1 says in the beginning was the Word, not the cross. So let’s go back to the beginning when the Word was with God, and the Word was God.Now for all you bible scholars, we know that Jesus Christ is the Word made flesh, but do you fully understand that so are we. No, I have not blasphemed. I will prove it.3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. (Ephesians 1:3-4)When God choose us, we were in Christ before the foundation of the world. In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God. We where there in the Word from the very beginning. The little g gods where there with the Big G God from the beginning. I know some of you have issues with being called gods, but the Father called you that because He created you in His image so you are that which He says you are. I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. Psalms 82:6 (KJV) And then Jesus confirmed it. 34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? 35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; 36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? John 10:34-36 (KJV)Every Spiritual blessing that is in Christ is also in us. Let’s go to Romans 8:29 NLT 29 For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. Christ is now seated in Heavenly places, but He was the first born; the first to actually walk as the Word of God incarnate. He was the first but not the only. We are to walk likewise as the Word made flesh. In other words, God has placed His Glory in us and given us the authority to rule in the earth realm as it was in the beginning. We always say that God will not share His Glory, but He has with us. 28 And we know that to them that love God all things work together for good, even to them that are called according to his purpose. 29 For whom he foreknew, he also foreordained to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren: 30 and whom he foreordained, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. Romans 8:28-30Please don’t get this twisted, we still can’t boast about what we have done. What God has done is placed the same power which Christ walked in as the Word made flesh within us. This is God’s doing. It was God who created us in His image and likeness, and it was He who made a way to restore us back to our original intended position in the earth.Unfortunately most have not truly stepped up to the place God has ordained for us. We are so busy chasing the things the world deems important that we have missed what God deems important. Please don’t misunderstand me, to desire nice things is not wrong, it is when that desire consumes you and becomes your focus in life that is the problem. Didn’t Jesus tell us in Matthew 6 not to worry about these mundane issues like the world does? If we keep our focus on God and that which he created us to do, then all these wonderful things that worldly people labor for will be added unto us. God has made His stance on the issue quite clear. Psalms 35:27 says God takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servants. Psalms 37:4 states that if you delight yourself in the Lord, He will give you the desires of your heart. We must change our mindset. The bible tells us in Romans 12:2 to be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. We have been so conditioned to think that everything we do is about getting ahead in life that we have neglected the purpose of our being. If God has opened a door for you to do a particular job in the work force, it is not about you getting ahead, it is about you shinning His light in the midst of where you are. If you have been blessed to own your own business, it is to be a blessing to other. It is to raise up Godly leaders. Are you starting to get the picture here, everything you do should be centered on the call of God upon your life. He will bless you as you go, but it is not about you obtaining all you can, it is about you pouring out all you can upon those around you.If Jesus is our elder brother and is to be our example of how we are to live and operate in the power and authority of God, then we must study Him very closely and learn how he received and executed His power. I believe the following to be vital information and the key to our destiny:John 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.John 5:30 (NIV) By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.It is all about being connected to the Father and the Son and allowing the Holy Spirit to be our guide. As heirs and joint heirs with Christ, we have been gifted with the ability to make a difference in the world, and in those around us. We have been endowed with power, power to heal the broken hearted, power to encourage those around us, power to change the atmosphere from that of chaos to peace. That is not all; we have been given a mandate. Remember this is about going back to the basics, well what could be more basic that the first directive given to mankind.27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. Gen 1:27-28 (KJV)God created us in His image and likeness and told us, mankind, to be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth. This does not just pertain to physical children, but spiritual children as well. As we grow in the things of God, part of our creative purpose is to impart those things in others. It is not just the Pastors job to share the good news of God’s love for us. We should be sharing that every day in the way we treat others. Jeremiah 31:3 tells us that God loves us with an everlasting love and it is with loving-kindness that He has drawn us to Him. By this same method, we are to draw others to Him.The Father also told us to take dominion over everything that moved upon the earth, therefore, we have dominion over the demons and imps which try to attack us and our family and the Body of Christ as a whole. We have been accepting what the enemy has been bringing to us, but no more! We have the power on dominion over him, not him over us!We need to stand up in the authority given us and stop allowing them to have their way in our lives. It is up to us, God gave us the keys to the Kingdom not the devil. …upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Matt 16:18-19 (KJV)Again, because we don’t realize who we are in Him, we have thought we were not equipped to enlarge the Kingdom. If you simply avail yourself to Him, He can and will work the miraculous in and through you. You will see both the physical and spiritual manifestation of the blind receiving their sight, the lame walking, the deaf hearing and the dead being raised to life.Jesus said He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. 13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” John 14:12-14 (KJV)He didn’t say the pastors or elders who believe, He said “he” meaning anyone who believes shall do greater works than He did. It is time to rise up and take our rightful place as the Sons of God. All of creation is waiting for us.And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. 18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. Romans 8:17-19 (KJV)© Coylette James 2009

Toot Your Own Horn

I have this friend I want to tell you about (and its really my friend, not one of those instances where I’m talking about myself but trying to disguise it). She’s one of my closest friends, so you know I think she’s special. She’s gorgeous, intelligent, smart (because they’re not the same thing…), FUNNY, enterprising and very encouraging. She likes to cook, she works efficiently with numbers…. I can go on and on. She has such a positive spirit and whenever I’m around her we have the best time ever. But y’all, I don’t know if she realizes all of this. Her and I talk about how we’re both great and have it going on. But I don’t think she sees herself as the dynamic creature that she truly is. Whenever she discusses her own value and attributes, she’ll begin tooting her own horn and then stop. I can’t even fault her though, because so many of us do that. And I used to be the same way, until my old roommate, another close friend, gave my confidence a huge boost. If you don’t toot your own horn, who will? What my old roommate taught me was this: of course we can’t wait for others to toot our horns and sing our praises. We must do this for ourselves. What was important about her lesson was the value of positive self-talk. Not only must you tell yourself how great you are, but you must repeat this often. And I’ve learned on my own how sneaky and tricky the mind is. Saying it once or twice won’t do, repetition is needed for any validation to sink in. Our minds need constant assurance that we really are the bee’s knees. Because for some reason, when we stop saying it, we stop believing and acting as if.Now my old roommate definitely knew her value and acted on that belief. And I saw that others saw this too and treated her the same way she treated herself. Its become such a cliche, but its definitely true that you have to treat yourself better than you want others to treat you. And part of that is hammering it into your own head that you are a creature like no other. Your positive self-talk and your confidence in yourself and your abilities will start to permeate your being; you’ll walk taller, hold your head up higher, and people will see this distinction in you and fall in line.I’m not advocating that you take this approach to self-confidence for other people. Its important to your own growth to value yourself highly. For one thing, a strong self-confidence will help to combat some of the fear I discussed previously. Because you’ll know your own abilities and have confidence that you can handle your aspirations as they come, you’ll be less likely to hold yourself back from what it is that you really want. And in those moments of weakness its easier to remember the things you’ve been constantly telling yourself, than it is to begin speaking lovingly of yourself when you’re feeling down. And in a way, telling yourself how wonderful you are is a form of self-love. We’d tell our children that they were smart, pretty and could do anything – why not tell ourselves? How to begin your tootingI think we as black women hesitate to hold ourselves too highly. First of all, its against the upbringing that some of us have had. We’ve been told to ‘be seen and not heard’, that we’re no better than anyone else, and ‘God don’t like ugly’. We’ve also been taught that its wrong to be conceited and that God rewards those who are humble. But again, whats wrong with speaking positively to yourself? We’d instill these same words of confidence and love to children, just because we’re grown now doesn’t mean we don’t still need to hear it. And the best person to tell us is ourselves. If you aren’t sure where to start, I’d start with reversing the habit of negative self-talk. If you stub your toe, don’t curse. Rub it off and say “thats ok”. If you break something by accident, don’t call yourself an idiot. Say, “thats ok, we all make mistakes. I’m not perfect.” Once you get the idea, take the initiative to say positive things to yourself. Begin the habit of paying yourself small compliments when the chance presents itself. When you wear your favorite outfit, tell yourself how beautiful you look. When you’ve had a good workout, admire your body in front of a mirror. Describe the body parts you like, and why. Try to do this out loud if you can. And if you’re a Christian sista, pull out some of those Bible verses that reinforce what I’m talking about. God says you’re “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalms 139:14). Who are you to disagree? If you feel silly doing this, what does it matter, honestly? Its all in your head. No one knows what you’re saying but you. You could think of it as nurturing the little girl within you. You could also think of it as positive reinforcement of the woman you already are. Whatever you think of it as, I hope you begin to appreciate your awesomeness on a daily basis and toot your own horn.from my blog, Motivated Sistahttp://www.motivatedsista.com

Ask any woman entrepreneur and they'll tell you one of the challengesin business is getting traffic to our sites. One of the easiest ways to get traffic to your website is by article marketing. It is not the fastest, but it is easy and cheap. When you are first starting in the internet marketing business, you need things that are easy and allow you toleverage your money. It doesn't take any time to blow your budget trying to get your website built, buying all the books under the sun, and even after all of that you probably still haven’t had your first sale. When the reality finally sets in that the internet work week is a pipe dream, you don’t have any money left to drive traffic to your website. It is a given, that pay per click will drive traffic to your site faster than any other method, but if you have already blown your budget, you need to find ways to get traffic to your site for free, and this is where article marketing comes in.Just about anyone with moderate English skills and minimal writing ability can write articles and publish them on the various article directories. And if your articles are remotely interesting, you can have them picked up by various webmasters and bloggers to use as information on their sites, some within hours of being published. You may ask what needs to be done to have these articles point back to your website? Most experts will tell you that you need to have the all important keywords in your article point back to you website. My Thanksgiving Prayer to You

My Thanksgiving Prayer to You

Happy Thanksgiving

Visit us at http://womenwhowin.ning.com

Hello to You:
I give thanks to God for all of you who have given me your love, friendship, business sales, teamwork, referrals, feedback and prayers.
In Psalm 100:4 it says
"Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name."

The root meaning of the word thank in this verse comes from the Greek word: Exomologeo, which means to acknowledge and agree fully. This word in turn comes from two Greek words: Ek or Ex which denotes the origin or beginning of action, and Homologeo which means to give thanks. That leads us to believe that thanksgiving is not passive, it is an action.

We are to show our thankfulness to the world for all that God has done in our lives. We should be happy that we even have breath in our body and acknowledge that the only reason we do is because it is part of God's plan. It is to give Him glory, and that is the only reason.

Thank God that you are healthy and show others that thanks in the way you live your life. And if you are not whole and healthy then thank God that in his infinite wisdom He has a plan for you. Just think how much more of a testimony you can give by showing others your willingness to love and follow God in spite of your infirmities.

Jesus, Your Son.
For beauty in nature, Your glory we see
For joy and health, friends and family,
For daily provision, Your mercy and care
These are the blessings You graciously share.
So today we offer this response of praise
With a promise to follow You all of our days.

Calendar Congestion

There are many time management experts that teach us the importance of scheduling ourselves and keeping some sort of calendar system. Personally I agree that scheduling our appointments and daily tasks is a great idea. Writing down our daily commitments is a great mechanism for making sure we keep track of everything we have to do.I also believe that writing things down on our calendar allows us to examine if we are being unrealistic with our time. Looking at our daily, monthly and yearly calendars can let us see if our calendars are congested. Congested calendars are those calendars that have obligations and tasks penciled in from the time someone gets up until the time they go to bed. A great visual clue is to look for white space on your calendar. If we don't have any then chances are our calendar is congested. There are several strategies that can be used to prevent or alleviate calendar congestion. Some tips to consider when cleaning up are calendars are:Evaluate each and every appointment and commitment. Are our obligations in alignment with what is really important or is it filled with commitments that we feel pressured to accept?Do the commitments on our calendar reflect obligations from all aspects of our lives? Or are our obligations lopsided? Are we being unrealistic with the amount of time we are allotting for certain tasks or obligations? Are there areas where we can simplify and slow down?Looking at our schedule on paper can be a visual reminder for us to decide if our calendar is congested or not. Maintaining a congestion free calendar is a great tool for living a balanced life.Robin N. WrightA Balanced Life, LLCbalancedlifesite@aol.com

Savvy customers don't allow marketing hype to tell them what to buy. They bypass advertising clutter, and research which brands to invite into their lives. Before they support your business, they want to know what you’re all about—and why you deserve to get their money. When they're online, comparing products and services, does your brand stand out as the one that best satisfies their needs?Answer the following 5 questions to attract savvy customers to your business:1. Is your brand credible? Savvy consumers want to make sure that they can trust your company to deliver on its promise to satisfy their needs. These sharp consumers want to know that you have a proven history of satisfying people like them, who have high expectations for quality and consistency. Savvy consumers are more likely to read product reviews, read news articles about you, ask for references, etc…2. Does your brand deliver a strong first impression? To attract a savvy consumer you have to pay close attention to the presentation of your brand from the very beginning, because you may not get a second chance to win them over. Savvy consumers examine the aesthetics of everything from the packaging to the product itself. If you don’t invest in your brand, why should they pay for it? You have to pay close attention to everything affiliated with the customer’s experience with your brand. Everything from the appearance of your staff, the cleanliness of the store, the layout of your website, and the quality of your goods have to consistently surround the consumer with a look and feel they can trust and be proud to support.3. Is your brand sending the right messages? Savvy consumers closely examine the messages you send, to determine what your company stands for, what you are offering, and how you could make their lives better. They also assess whether or not you value their patronage by how you market and connect to them. Although your marketing may get their attention, savvy customers are quick to look under the hood to make sure your brand messages are consistent, truthful, and appealing.4. Is your price consistent with your brand’s value? Savvy consumers want to feel like they are getting their money’s worth. What value does your brand offer for the price you are charging? Savvy customers wants to be clear about whether they are getting a bargain for a valuable product, or if they're paying a premium for a unique brand experience.5. Is your brand socially responsible? Savvy consumers are tuned into the world around them, and are aware of the role they play in moving their communities forward. Everything matters, and in these difficult economic times, every dollar must be accounted for. Savvy consumers want to make sure that their dollars are invested in companies/brands that have proven to be good corporate citizens by actively supporting the communities and consumers they serve. As businesses compete for their hard-earned money, savvy consumers understand that they have the upper hand. They are holding your company's brand to a higher standards, and are challenging you to come correct, or not at all.By: Tia Jackson, Chief Brand Strategist, http://www.BrandMakerNews.com
