I am in the business of helping others achieve their dreams and do what they desire. But there are so many of us who don't believe that getting what we want is truly possible. We tend to not pursue our dreams out of fear...fear of the unknown, fear of stepping out of our comfort zones. Well these days many people are getting out of their comfort zones and not by choice. Folks are getting laid off everyday and they don't know what to do next. Others are working on a Plan B in case something does happen. Do you have a Plan B?I have a girlfriend who escaped the first wave of layoffs with her company only to get hit in the 2nd wave today. She thought her job was secure, but she's now realizing that no one's job is secure. When a company feels they don't need you, especially in an effort to save money, then you're dispensable. She started working on a Plan B last week not realizing that she would soon be needing another Plan A.I would like to offer you a Plan B! One of the Hardest Weeks of My Life!

This week had to be one of the hardest weeks of my life. It started out with one negative event and spiraled down to something-different everyday! For the first time in a long time I felt like nothing would ever be ok. I truly felt like giving up! I felt so weak and beat up that it was hard for me to get out of my bed. It was hard for me to focus on the business that I love. I didn’t want to see or speak to anyone.By Thursday most of the tears had stopped and I started feeling a little bit better. I realized that day, that most of the things I was going through, I brought on myself. I knew I would be ok. I had survived the initial shock and went through what felt like withdrawals. By Friday, I woke up motivated ready to tackle whatever challenges the J.O.B. sent my way. I worked diligently and surprisingly there were no challenges whatsoever. It started out being a very good day!Later on that night I listened to my company’s Hour of Power called. Every week we have a guest speaker who might be an agent or a professional trainer/motivational speaker. This week’s speaker was Dr. Stan Harris a.k.a. Dr. Breakthrough. This man is a phenomenal speaker! I cried and cried so much while listening to him, I felt like I was in church! Once he was finished, I could feel that I had definitely had a breakthrough.What was funny to me was that I didn’t really feel like getting on the call before I dialed in. This is just like many of the things I don’t feel like doing which put me in some of the situations that I’ve been dealing with. I’ve always been a huge procrastinator! If I don’t feel like doing something, I will put it off until the last minute or until it truly has to get done. What’s worse is I’ve been treating my business the same way. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love doing what I do, but I have a bad habit of letting life get in the way, allowing others and circumstances distract me.Today, I am thanking God for those challenges that have been put in my path. I believe these things happened to make me a better person, and to show me just how making bad decisions could affect me. It has taught me how to depend on myself and to hold myself accountable. I also believe that I have gone through and continue to go through these hard times to prepare me for the wonderful things that God has in store for me. I can go on because I know that which doesn’t kill me will only make me stronger. Right now I feel so happy and uplifted! I am glad that I didn’t give up. I know it’s never too late to start all over. I am determined more than ever to use the tools that God has given me, to become the success that I desire to be and to make all of my dreams come true!

Who wouldn’t? But, success involves more than just wishing it was so.What defines the road to success? Specifically, What defines YOUR road to success?Obviously, you try to make decisions and implement habits that will lead to the completion of your goals and dreams. That seems to always be easier said than done. Somewhere along the line, obstacles seem to find us and then the goal doesn’t look as straightforward as you once thought. Your plan might include exercise and eating better. In order to be successful, the goal has to stay forefront in your mind. Every time you eat, a conscious decision has to be made that reflects your goal. Do you eat a hamburger with everything or have a chicken breast with vegetables?Focus is not obsessing. Some would say that if you thought about the goal morning, noon and night, that’s going overboard. Here’s the difference. Obsession says that no matter what you eat you won’t lose weight. It gets you on the scale five times a day.Focus follows a plan accompanied with ACTION. Eating is not the enemy, it’s eating the wrong amount or type of food. You can’t stop eating right? Instead, you’ll change your eating habits and exercise to shed extra weight. When you hit a plateau, it’s time to change the routine to something new.Focus moves forward always towards the goal you have set. In a reasonable amount of time, you will achieve the goal. When you are focused, there is always a new path to try when you hit a roadblock. You can still see the goal (maybe pictures or affirmations posted around the house) so you don’t give up.Success with your goals is not a matter of luck but of looking towards the end result. I literally just responded to a Facebook Message from one of my readers, Joan. I really felt her message was thoughtful and a reflection of what many of you might be feeling, so I decided to repost the message, along with my response.

Hey LaShanda, I've been following u 4 a while on and off. I am very, very, impressed w/your story. God has been good to u. I am a self published author and publisher. It is pretty hard as a black author to get your books out there. I have taken courses teaching how to get my books out there and making a profit. Wow! It is not easy. Many of the new authors I speak to also have not even reached where I am. Some have given up. But I refuse to give up. I am very frustrated. I've paid for courses with not results, even after doing it more than once. People send you soooooo much junk in your email, you try them. And still end up in circles. I grew up in Queens NY. I now live in Avon, IN. I am also a stay at home mom. I really need to know how to get women to take my online courses about relationships, sell my books, add more people to my newsletter. I am willing to take your course. The one that is for $29, ($40, discount). I need to work on something and actually see it work. It's like when you put one foot in front of the other, you move forward, not putting one foot forward and standing still. I know I have written a lot. I wanted to write more, however. I don't want you to read a book. My husband is totally against me taking any other course. He said it's a waste of money. Some how I believe what you have is legit. That is why I decide to message u.

Hi Joan, I appreciate your honesty and the fact that you took the time to find out how this all works. My goal with this course and with practically everything that I teach online is to show you how to be proactive and find the people who need your product. Out of curiosity, I used the google keyword tool and did a quick search on your focus area 'relationship advice' to find that people have searched for that topic over 165,000 this past month alone! I tell you that because, when your are down you should always look at the numbers to boost you up. It's not that people aren't searching for what you got. It's just that you need to work a little harder at finding them. I never make a promise I can't keep, so I can't guarantee that my solutions will work for everyone. But I can tell you that what I do works for me and for many of the women I teach. Again, my method to this madness called internet marketing is figuring out how to make my own market and building a strong network of loyal customers around me. And that's basically what I show you how to do in my ecourses. As for your husband, I both agree and disagree with him *lol*. While you don't want to spend your money on every shiny object that comes your way, you do want to invest in yourself and your business so that you both can grow.
