Ok ya'll. I'm doing something that I've been wanting to do for a while.  I joined virtualassistantjobs.com and also started a website, www.CassieBVA4U.com to get going.  Being a stay at home and trying to make money was the reason.  So if you need any type of virtual secretarial demands, forms typed, scheduling if you're traveling to the West Coast or Las Vegas, hit me up.

Its seem like it was ages ago when I created my first web page. Now today I am making a career of something that I love to do. Something that was just a hobby, never did it cross my mind that there’s a person(s) behind the scenes writing code that turns into my favorite website or those cool billboards that you see everywhere. All I knew was that I wanted to created websites but as the time pass my skills needed to grow as well. So I learned how to do other things.

A few weeks ago someone on my twitter timeline stated that WordPress is the worst platform to build you website on because its not flexible. Of course I gave that tweet a side eye because I knew otherwise. WordPress is very flexible, if you take the time to learn and adapt. Speaking of adapting, this something I am learning how to in my business as well as personal life. About year and half ago when I was thinking about how I could expand my services beyond just doing websites (because not everyone wants or think they should have one) I decided that I should break down the parts of a site and make those individual elements a services of their own.

Read the entire post which also includes a discount code for one of my most popular design services.

Simple Relaxing Tips For Moms

women-relaxing.jpg?width=300

It seems like there is never enough time to take a break for the weary. And, the weary person is usually mom. You find that most often moms are too busy taking care of home and everybody else, but who takes care of mom?If you are a busy mom, it is very important that learn to value yourself as a person and schedule personal time.

Personal time is a right of being a person. Each of us has the capacity to nurture others but that type of care takes its toll.

A car is filled with fuel to make it run. Eventually the fuel runs out and your car won’t move unless the car is replenished with fuel. The same goes for you. Emotional issues can develop when you don’t take the time to take care of your emotional well-being, not to mention the physical results of emotional neglect, so I hope you are starting to see why it is important that you start to take better care and make time for yourself.

Being able to take some Mom time refuels the tank so that you can give to your family as well as yourself in equal measure. When you give to yourself you are actually more vital and energetic and you actually have more to give back to the world. Don’t feel ashamed to sit for fifteen minutes doing nothing. In the springtime, relaxing on your patio or even next to the pool is the perfect getaway from the pressures of the day. Reading a book for 30 minutes can also seem like heaven to many moms.

Here are a few tips to help you fit in much needed “mom” time:

1. Get up 30 minutes early. When you have kids, the day begins at a hurried pace. Once you hit the ground running, there is no stopping you. Waking 30 minutes to an hour ahead of time means quiet solitude to drink your coffee, read a book, meditate or listen to music. Give it a try and I challenge you not to hit the alarm clock. Jump start your day!

2. Turn Ordinary into Extraordinary. When you take a bath, add candles, bubble bath, quiet music. Your regular bath has now become a spa level experience. If you watch a movie, turn out the lights, pop a bag of microwave popcorn and curl up on the couch do it and enjoy every minute of it.

Power up your Social Media Marketing with this for a profitable experience

There are 5 basic steps that you must follow if you’re going to have a profitable
Social Media experience. One of those steps is to identify your goal for each network.

There are many ways in which Social media can bring marketing success to your business. Before you start it’s important to know what exactly it is you’re trying to achieve. This will enable you to track your success and tweak your various methods easier to work on once things have started rolling with your business.

Social Media can assist in many different aspects of your marketing. Whether you are aiming at driving traffic to your site, generating referrals and sales, or just plain having a way to communicate with both current and prospective clients, social media makes this entire process much easier to accomplish.

There are a few things to keep in mind, however. the simple goal of accumulating connections through social media outlets is not the only thing necessary for a successful business. Having lists of thousands of “followers” or “friends” in your various social media platforms may be nice, but it will not make you the successful businessperson you are striving for if nobody does anything but make small talk.

There’s another important step that I’ll share as a bonus and this is to identify your strategy for not only obtaining these followers, but converting them into actual paying clientele. Another option would be to add them as associates or affiliates. It’s important to have some type of product or service each of these potential clients can relate to, in reference to their own needs. Do keep in mind that blatant sales pitches could result in rapid loss of your followers or contacts. Try to find a “happy medium” per se, where you will be providing added value information or suggestions these contacts will find useful.

Power up!

I invite you to receive additional insights on Social Media by joining other dynamic women and I for “Empowerment Diva Rocks Social Media and You Can Too!” A Free Social Media training for beginners

As women in business, we know all too well that new customers don’t just fall into our laps; we must create a stellar plan for them to land there. Simply, the art of marketing is paramount to your overall success. So what does it take? Here are the 3 L’s to ensure that potential clients continuously land your way:

LEADS

There are a multitude of FREEor low cost sources that can be used to help your business with highly-qualified sales leads.

Here are 3 ways to build your leads:

  • Social Networks: Platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn are great FREE sources and highly effective in lead generation as it brings potential clients to your business.
  • Website: By creating a web presence, will bring new traffic to your site. Traffic = Leads! The key is to consistently publish fresh content such as articles, videos or interviews that highlights what your business offers and the benefits gained. In addition, having a FREE offer to entice visitors to leave their contact information is effective.
  • Referral Marketing: If you’ve spent time on relationship building, establishing communication, building trust and resolving potential problems or conflicts, then your customers will see little risk in recommending your company to their peers.

Just as people do business with people they know and trust, they also feel more comfortable when a product or service is recommended by a friend. A prospect that was referred to you has already been told about the quality and professionalism that you provide your customers with.

Say after implementing this or a similar plan, you've gained 25 new leads per week. That’s 1300 new leads per year!

LIST

One of the most vital tools for business owners is the ‘LIST.’ To remain competitive, it’s do or die! Your list is simply a database used to store your contacts such as name, business name, address, email, phone number and website address and more! If you need database software, A few systems that I am familiar with:
  • ACT: makes it easy for you to manage your contacts and calendar, and connect to powerful, subscription-based sales and marketing services.
  • FileMaker Pro: worldwide leader in easy-to-use database software

There are many ways to build a list, but here are two that work for me:

E-newsletter: The use of e-newsletters has quickly come to be an indispensable component of the advertising campaigns of many businesses, large and small! This is an easy, low-cost and profitable way to be introduced to warm leads! Consider increasing your chances by creating a landing page that includes a ‘free offer’ or ‘discount’ on specific services. Make sure you use a service such as:

Article Marketing: This is an effective and cost efficient way to provide solutions to potential prospects and current customers. Be sure your articles are well written with relevant content that relates to your niche. Your website or blog should include an RSS feature which allows visitors to subscribe to your feed.

LEVERAGE

Ever wonder how billionaires such as Oprah Winfrey or Donald Trump are so successful? By leveraging their time and resources of course! This is a no brainer way to grow your business… by leveraging established relationships with your clients and your network!

Not sure how to leverage? Here are 3 ways:

Leverage Peers. Can you think of any business owners that you know and whom you share mutual customers with? You should be running, not walking to discuss a collaborative venture. For instance, if you are a business writer, you can partner with a web designer, PR firm and / or an ad agency; and a realtor can partner with a mortgage lender, title service and home builders. The key is to learn about each team members business so that you can promote it as you would your own. Your new sales team will enable you to grow more rapidly. It makes so much sense to work smarter and not harder!

Leverage Experts. Partner with industry experts to collaborate on a project. For example, create an audio or video series by interviewing experts. Dr. Shannon Reece interviewed 12 leading women experts and offered the live events FREE to those who registered. These experts shared personal and professional experiences and keys to success. This series will soon be available at a cost. Can we say passive income!

Leverage Investors. Do you need capital to expand your business? Consider exploring investors who are willing to finance your growth. This can be a daunting task, but the outcome well worth it! As you near your forty-ninth business pitch, that fiftieth might be your lucky charm!

So what strategies will you put in place to continuously obtain leads; manage your list and leverage your resources?

You'rethebomb.com

I know, I know. I'm sure you're thinking, for real Tamara? You're quoting Tamar??? (For those of you who are unfamiliar, she is one of the Braxton sisters on the reality TV show, Braxton Family Values. The show stars Grammy Award Winner Toni Braxton and her 4 sisters and their life.) I know Tamar can be a bit dramatic but you must admit it's interesting that she actually adds ".com" at the end of a subject or when she is appalled with something. Or as she says, when something is "infinity" or more.

So, today I'm not appalled by anything I'm actually proud, "infinity" and more! I'm proud of the people who are making strides every day and accomplishing goals for their life. I'm proud of people who are taking control of their life and "firing their boss". And I just wanted to say, You'rethebomb.com! I have the pleasure of working with 5 intelligent women who all have business launches coming up within the next month and I love to see their passion. They are working hard to get everything in order and ready for their debut to the world as an entrepreneur and I know they are not the only ones. So congratulations to whomever you are. Whether you are just starting or been on the grind for a long time. Keep up the hard work and remember, You'rethebomb.com!

Letting Go of Old Power to Gain New Freedom

Letting Go of Old Power to Gain New Freedom
Rickey of Juniques Marketing and Multi Cultural Connections, share his insight on personal growth.

He describes how a person can be really good in a particular area of life or have a skill highly developed and it becomes their power.  This power is what they use and hold on to, always.

The person may good at leadership, persuasion, arguing, loving, passiveness, etc. They use their power
constantly.

Now to experience NEW Freedom, they have to learn to let go of that power so that a new freedom
can be introduced into their life. How?

When the opportunity present itself to use their old power, they do not.

They do not take the lead, agrue, persuade, passive, follow, etc. Just for that moment.

Here is what they discover.

That they may have other powers that have not be utilized. That the situation was not as severe as they thought.

That someone else discovered they had unused power and "stepped" forward.

That someone had discovered their
new freedom and the opportunity to use it, was presented.

It like holding on to something that secures. Say you are sitting in a "four legged chair"  and you are "rocking" in it.

There is a table you use to grab, just as the chair starts falling back and you know it will not "rock" forward.

You know if you do not grab that table, you will fall.

You know the fall will be "nothing nice". You get real good at grabbing that table.

Lets say the table is your power. Let say falling is the start of process of letting go. Lets say you let go!!!

That is the most emotionally unsettlling moment in your life. Because you do not have your power.

So you fall to the floor and you experience no major damage! You look around you are ok, You get up and realize you do not need
the table. You have new freedoms. You can sit there, get up, walk around, crawl, stand up, etc.

You realize now you can " Let go of old power and Gain new freedom!":

You have new freedoms. Now the cool part of gaining new freedoms is, it is a continual cycle.

New Freedoms will become Old Powers.

Now you know how to move old powers to new freedoms and you can appreciate the cycling instead being held by old powers.

The sad news about keeping old powers is YOU WILL NOT GROW, in whatever area of life, you want to grow., you let the old power remain "in charge".

Is this a easy process? NO. For it is a process.  You have take "steps" to let go of old power and you have to trust the process.

Here is your dose of motivation, inspiration, smart woman in business information for today. Dawn Fitch, creator of Pooka Pure and Simple, natural bath and body products, member of Black Business Women Online is featured on the March 2012 cover of Black Enterprise Magazine.

I am so very proud of Dawn as I have followed her business growth over the past five years and personally spoken with her about the process we go through as women entrepreneurs. Its a hard and challenging run, but its our passion and as Dawn's success shows this it is the path we must passionately take to full fill our destinies.

What is so crazy is I logged onto BBWO and Facebook today and saw the cover and thought, "WOW, this is wonderful." It was only yesterday that I featured the Black Enterprise photo shoot of Dawn Fitch on BBWO and truth be told it was only a few days earlier that I had invited Dawn to speak about the Business of Beauty for our upcoming SistaSense Power Circle TeleSummit because I consider her to be one of the powerful business women to know in my circle.

I say all that to say several things. Creating BBWO has been a blessing for me on so many levels because being around ambitious, innovative women like Dawn Fitch is what helps to create the thriving, supportive, community that BBWO has become. Moreover, I can not express enough that I have watched her business grow. I have watched Dawn build the website, launch events, promote her products, share her expertise on BBWO, support other business owners, open her own boutique and now grace the covers of Black Enterprise Magazine.

Ladies and gents this is what determination, dedication, do or die motivation looks like. You have to live, breath, eat, dream, and keep on dreaming and this is just a part of the Pookalita Story one cover is not the end of what Dawn has in store for us to see. Two months blogging, a few days tweeting isn't going to get you or your business where it needs to be. The ladies in my Power Circle grind out! They push when folks are watching and they push even harder when folks are not because that is what you have to do to turn your success into a reality. No one else is going to do this for you.

I can not over emphasize the significance of being on a space like BBWO because you never know who you are going to meet and who we all are working so hard to become! And I can not over stress the significance of participating in something like the SistaSense Power Circle TeleSummit because this is how you get access to real women entrepreneurs, black business women who have been through what you are going through and know exactly what you need to do to get to the next level. I honestly think folks who have not signed up for the power circle are crazy because this group of women give so much genuine, life changing, business transforming information for practically nothing you are spinning your heels, racking your brains for the answers not realizing the right people are right in front of you.

I look at Dawn's success as a testament to my belief that if you put in the work this year is the year to make things happen ... to see things happen! I am sending out a big virtual hug to Dawn Fitch for all her hard work and success (click here to share your congrats too)! The blessings are flowing and this Pookalitas story has just begun to be told! As for you, I hope to see you proactively networking on BBWO and soaking in ALL the information my Power Circle is going to give on our upcoming Power Circle Telesummit.

And FYI Social Networking is NOT joining a network, putting up a profile and hoping the 'right people' find you. As busy as she is Dawn has always proactively shared videos, how-to articles, and thoughtfully participated in conversations on BBWO. If you want people to know and support you then you better make it your business to start knowing and supporting other people. Let the Church say AMEN as I get off my soapbox for today. Stay blessed and ALL about Business. -LaShanda

Boys & Superpowers; Girls & Reality

This little girl tells her story of betrayal & confusion in the inspirational book, My Heart Speaks...of Boys and a Girl, (poetry excerpt below).

With his X-Ray Vision

he said, “I thought I’d have x-ray vision by the time I turned 30…but I don’t.”

I told him that he does; he asked, “Why, because I see right through you?”

I said, “Exactly, and you use it to your advantage…

…you see the weakness, and you prey on it…

…you see the hurt, and you multiply it…

…you see the vulnerability, and you thrive on it.”

he said, “Well, since you put it that way.”
