Lessons in Lusciousness: Tis The Season

Tis the season to be...? What would you fill in the blank with? During the holidays is when single people tend to feel lonely. I have a challenge for you. Instead of feeling lonely and isolating yourself in your home..go to as many holidays parties and events as possible. There is so much to do during this time of year, there is something for everyone. If you are a business woman go to holiday networking events, go a singles holiday party or if you just want to be out and about, find something hot going on in the community.Grab another single gal pal and go be adventurous! If you do not have anyone to go to an event with fly solo. Does the thought of going to an event alone give you the hives? What a lame excuse to stay home. Going to an event alone does not make you a loser. Sometimes I prefer to go to places alone, because I end up meeting more people. If you enter the room with a strong presence everyone will want to know who you are. You are somebody that everyone should know, so put your head up high as you saunter into a room. Try it, oh how it really does work. You can also have your own gathering. Get some other singles together for Chanukah, Christmas, New Year's, you name it. It is a great time for celebrations just because. Being single this time of year rocks. While your married friends are chained to tables with in-laws they do now want to be around, you get to pick who you are spending time with. Value that and roll with it.This holiday season rock your singular status. Have fun and go on adventures that you get to boast and brag about. Just do it.PS- Write me and tell me about all the fun you are having.Stay luscious!~Shoshi

Branding Yourself - Article Reprint

by Philip Brown - THIS IS AN ARTICLE REPRINTBranding yourself is a concept that represents everything about your business or company. It sets your business and products apart from the competition. Only the businesses who communicate the real value of their product in today's world of high expectations will accomplish everything they want. So, what makes you and your product different? The main goal of branding yourself is to own a product category. By branding yourself, you are identifying and defining everything from packaging to public relations. Your brand should epitomize the personality of your company.Since it will have a huge impact on your bottom line, it is very important that you create a solid brand for yourself and your company. When your targeted customer becomes loyal to your brand, price will become less of an issue for your company. There are many different elements that go into making a successful brand. First, there is relevance. Do your target customers believe that they need your product in their life? Will it make a positive difference in their daily life? Will it make their life easier? Will it make them feel good about themselves?Another element is differentiation. What makes the benefits of your products or services different from the competition? Next there is brand awareness. Do your potential customers even know that your company or products exist? Brand awareness will lead to a preference for your brand because it will be the first thing that comes to mind when they think of your product or service.Lastly there is consistency. If you are inconsistent in your business communications and products, then your potential customers will be confused and it will have a negative impact on your brand identity. This makes it important to define who you and your business are to set yourself apart from the competition. What happens once you know who you are and you have branded yourself? Once you have defined yourself and your company's products, then you need to focus on the above issues to help separate yourself from your competition. Your logo should help your potential customers define your product at a glance. Make sure that you create the best image to represent your company and its products. You should create a tag line. A tag line is a sentence or phrase that describes your products or services and helps your customers identify it anywhere.Careful and controlled branding can result in an increase in sales, more customers, and an ability to increase the value, and thus, the pricing of your products or services.Phillip Brown, Internet Marketer, Coach and MentorToll Free Telephone: 1-800-990-2024Official Website: http://www.watch-dog-reports.comE-mail:pwfonline@yahoo.com

Why Liquid Vitamins?

When choosing your nutritional supplement, liquid vitamins are definately the way to go for maximum absorption. No athlete that wants to perform at their peak should be without 1st being on a daily liquid vitamin supplement such as GBG liquid vitamins for Energy. The B vitamins are a group of eight individual vitamins, often referred to as the B-complex vitamins. So now you can begin to understand why Kellogg’s and your mother made sure you included these essential vitamins in your diet.Vitamins are molecular compounds made of organic chemicals that cannot be produced by the human body, but are necessary for its survival. Organic means they contain carbon, and in addition to which they are made up from hydrogen, oxygen, and a few with nitrogen and/or other elements in lesser quantities. Some of the other aspects of health that vitamins are concerned with include the formation of proteins crucial for blood clotting (vitamin K), inhibition of oxidation in body tissues (vitamin E), and the production of collagen (vitamin C). One-A-Day vitamins are one of the biggest rip-offs in the world, but since they are made by Bayer Aspirin, what else would you expect. It is difficult to compare a product like One-A-Day with a product like GBG vitamins. According to the Physician’s Desk Reference (PDR) liquid vitamins are 98% absorbed while vitamins in tablet form are only 10 - 20% absorbed. That means when you take tablets like one a day, 90% of the vitamins could be flushed down the toilet.Watch this video for more information

I'm in miSPA's Blog!!

Such an Honor to Be in Mimie's Blog

A few weeks ago, I spent several glorious days with Indie Beauty Network member Lori Nova of The Nova Studio teaching a series of classes at her Business Boot Camp and hosting Indies in the City. While there, I met IBN member Mimie Wong of miSPA in Alameda, California. Mimie has been a member of IBN since October 2006, and so while I knew what a fun, smart and creative Indie she is, it was very exciting to meet her in person and add an embrace to an already sweet business friendship.

Boot_camp

Earlier today, while tooling around IBN member sites, which is one of my favorite things to do, I went to Mimie's site to see what she's been up to since we met last month. When I clicked on her blog, I was pleasantly surprised to see a photo of me and Mimie at the Boot Camp!

It's such fun to watch my Indies thrive and have fun. Mimie is a graphics artist by training, and you can tell that her talent and training is put to good use when you see her website and the wonderful products displayed there. Each label is a neat little masterpiece. "Simple elegance" is a good way to describe it.

Mimie's having a contest to name her new "cleanse-balance-moisturize" system. You have until October 7 to help her come up with the perfect name for the line. If you win, Mimie promises to shower you with some delicious treats. And while you're there, note the really cool way Mimie displays the date in the upper left of her blog. Told you she was creative! Tell her dM sent you!

Indies in the City: San Francisco

I Love Indies in San Francisco!

We had a fantastic time last night at Indies in the City in Point Richmond, California, about 20 minutes outside of one of my favorite cities: San Francisco. I am here for the next 4 days to share my knowledge and experience at Lori Nova's Business Boot Camp. I am always excited to do that, but especially for this event because Lori's Nova Studio is such a lovely and intimate workshop. While I like sharing in any venue, I really love it when I can be up close and personal with other Indies. Here's a picture of everyone smiling in the midst of the chicha.

L to R: IBN member Donna Lang, The Aromatic Way; Rochel Roland, Kelly Chadwick of Pure Indulgence; dM, Ann Walls, IBN member Joan Morais of Joan Morais Natural Body Care Classes & Workshops; IBN member Lori Nova of The Nova Studio. Throughout the next four days, along with other experts in various fields of small business success, I'll be addressing Lori's group.

My topics are:

  • The New Brand of Business Leaders: Just look around at all of the failed examples of leadership in our society today. Politically, socially and especially in the real estate and financial worlds, people who have taken leadership seminars from the world's best have turned out to be some of the worst leaders of our time. Indies to the rescue! We are the new brand of business leaders. Gone are the days how to identify and embrace your own special form of Indie Business leadership
  • Saving Your Business Before it Starts: Who has time for tomes and volumes of paper exploring ad nauseum how a business will start and become profitable. I take the evening bag approach to business planning: focused and detailed, yet efficient and realistic. I love this one!
  • Your Hidden Intellectual Property Assets: Lions, tigers and bears, oh my! Trademarks, copyrights and layers, oh my! Grasping this stuff is easier than you might think, and I'm going to share all of my attorney tricks from 20 years of practice so help avoid heartache and capitalize on assets that most people miss out on.
  • Become the News You Want to Be: Skip all the expensive workshops about how to get your products featured in top fashion magazines and national television talk shows. Bring the world to your door using using time, your creativity and your laptop. Indies are the news today, and your own story is the world's most popular headline! I'm going to show 17 lucky people how it's done!

You can see a full list of speakers and topics at Lori's website.

Updates and Social Networking Works

Hi all!As you may or may not know, I've opened a new website for sista-, mom- and women-preneurs. The url is womenpreneurs.info,. It is primarily an informational site and I encourage you all to sign up for email updates. In addition, I have placed all of the BBC featured businesses on this site also. If you were a featured business of the BBC and your site has not been added, please drop me a line using the "Contact Box" on the front page of the site.I am also still chugging along on my 60 day Squidoo Challenge. Let me tell you, it is a challenge. Writing on something new everyday is certainly stretching my creative and writing skills. However, as I get to the topic of my post - it's well worth the challenge - because Social Networking works.I joined sistapreneurs.com in November of 2007, but I have not been truly active until Feb-March of this year. I also purchased LaShanda's "banner ad" package and my ads are running on her network of sites. I was checking my statcounter the other day and I started looking at my traffic and where it came from. 72% of my traffic to my sales sites originated from either sistapreneurs.com, one of msoyonline.com sites or a person with whom I connected on this site. That is a tremendous amount of traffic! In February, my total page visits were 944 (for the month) . By July, it has risen to 1600 for the month.Social networking works - I have three blogs (not including what I do on here), I write content for Squidoo, I have two sales websites (which I have optimized for the search engine), I write guest posts on other blogs, I have a myspace, I twitter, I'm on linkedin and facebook. Plus, my new website, womenpreneurs. Whew! It's a lot of work, but since I'm seeing results, it's well worth it.I truly expect my page hits to increase --I'm actually preparing for Christmas as we speak. So, please, if you're blogging, tweeting, etc. and not thinking you're seeing results, look at what you're doing -- target your audience and write to them.I remember one thing that Richelle Shaw said in her teleseminar - you are selling yourself - the product is just a by-product of your successful selling of you. If you can get people to connect with you, you will be able to sell them your product or service. Stop selling your product and sell yourself. Good luck!CeeCee Woolard

This is particularly important, as living with Mexican family helps you to become immersed in the culture and forces you use the language skills you are acquiring on the course. It also speeds up the pace at which you learn and makes the experience more enjoyable and authentic.Language schools usually quote the price of the course and accommodation in the total price. The families they work with are carefully chosen and are often families that are used to having student lodgers. If you prefer to make your own arrangements for accommodation, for example, if you prefer to stay at a local hotel or rent your own apartment (for longer stays) then the lodging element of the package is discounted and you only pay for the language course.Class Sizes and FeesClass sizes are small (usually 5 or 6 people max), and teaching lasts about 5 hours a day.
