Many folks think natural products will showoff their benefits instantaneously, not all will.  I had to even learn that wasn't the case.  I am glad that Erica did not give up on the first day.

Have you been in a situation where your upline is "helping" you but uses the phrase "...if you don't join me in this other business opportunity, or sign up for this membership site (that has a monthly fee), I will no longer waste my time helping you because you don't want IT bad enough."?

How about seeing and/or hearing your upline getting ALL the praise for work "they" have done while your team doesn't even get a simple THANK YOU or better yet not even a thumbs up of appreciation?

Getting constant texts that say "Team Conference Call NOW, if you are not on this one don't bother about being on the next one. I don't have time to deal with people who WASTE MY TIME!"?

NO ONE should be pressured into wanting HELP! If you feel like this I encourage you to GET OUT of that business opportunity (or opportunities), step back and take a look at what is really important to YOU.

Being in a business opportunity should NEVER feel like you are getting hazed into a social Greek organization. Everyone will have different accomplishments at their own time and their own pace. Also everyone's family life is not picture perfect or laid back. Some of us actually do want to make sure our business grows but also want to reap the awards of helping others and spending time with natural family.

Recently I wrote these facts down but I don't know where I got them from. This is a perfect time to share them. Always remember to:

*Focus on what YOU want

*Knowledge is POWER but YOU shouldn't feel pressured

*Achieve YOUR goals

*Make YOUR dream YOUR reality

This is my insight for you and make sure if the business opportunity (opportunities) are not working for YOU, find one that will.

Continued SUCCESS

With the vast amount of social media networks for businesses to select from, how do you narrow it down to the ones that are perfect for your needs? Having thousands at your fingertip to sift thru can become a daunting task!

To streamline the process, ask yourself the Who? What? Where? How?

  1. Who are your customers?
  2. What are their needs and desires?
  3. Where do they live?
  4. How much time do you commit to managing social media?
  5. How do you search for a ’niche’ network?
  6. How do you monitor and protect your online image?

Who are your customers?

There are literally thousands of social media networks. To decide which will work for your business, it is important to know your customer. Let’s get it straight… EVERYONE is NOT your customer. Though it would be nice to claim them all, it is impossible to be all things to all people. So, it is best to know and understand your target market.

What are their needs and desires?

Do you know why customers buy your product or service? If not, you should make it your business to find out. Ultimately, you want to increase sales and grow your business, right? Well, to do that, you must get inside their heads to learn their needs and desires?

In essence, understanding their needs is extremely important. Ask questions and concentrate on what the customer is really saying. Always paraphrase at the appropriate time to make sure you understand. Check out their body language. Are they at ease or in a defense mode? You should avoid making assumptions as it will only ignite the situation.

Did you know that it costs five to six times as much to get a new customer as it does to keep a current one? Make sure your customer’s needs are taken care of and that you have follow up procedures in place.

Where do they live?

Have you figured out which networks are most frequented by potential and existing customers, vendors or partners? If not, do the research! Developing a strategy begins with targeting the right people. Find the networks that work best. Doing so, you will eventually see a ROI (return on investment).

How much time do you commit to managing social media?

To manage time when using social media can be a juggling act. It is important to allocate a certain amount of time daily or weekly. Monitor what your top distractions are and eliminate them. Find tools that can help you manage multiple platforms.

4 MUST Have Social Tools:

  • Hootsuite: a social media management system for businesses to collaboratively execute campaigns across multiple social networks from one secure, web-based dashboard.
  • NutshellMail: takes copies of all your latest updates in your social networking accounts and places them in a snapshot email; updates are sent to your primary email address on your schedule.
  • Crowdbooster: offers social media analytics with suggestions and tools to help you improve your online presence.
  • Zite: a free personalized magazine that automatically learns what you like and gets smarter every time you use it; tracks your data to help personalize your magazine and the magazines of others.

How do you search for a ’niche’ network?

While it’s beneficial to be on major social media networks such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, it is equally important to connect to industry related networks. To find those related to your industry, simply search using key words such as ‘social networks for ‘…’

An Example of 4 ‘Niche’ Networks:

How do you monitor and protect your online image?

Do you know what people are saying about you or your brand? Negative comments can destroy your credibility. Google alerts will monitor you and your business name. Once you sign up, you will receive alerts when your name or brand is mentioned.

By using this process, will enable you to select the appropriate social networks for your business; thus, allowing you to reap full benefits of growing your virtual presence.

The DOs and DON'Ts of Blogging

Alright, well SOME Dos and Don'ts for blogging. Of course there are A LOT of things you should and shouldn't do when it comes to blogging. At this point you should already have an idea of what you are going to blog about. I am going to point out a few of the important Dos and Don’ts. Let's start with the DON'Ts.

DON'T...

Spend ALL day online. First your eyes will start to hurt and then you will start to experience horrible headaches. LOL! This is what happens when you sit in front of a computer screen all day. Searching, writing, reading, watching. At some point during the day, you have to give it a rest. The great thing about the Internet is that what you are looking for will always be there. Go back to it later. If it is taking you more than an hour to write a blog posting (unless in depth research is involved), you need to change the subject.

Plagiarize. Duh. Just like in school, you cannot do this. You would be breaking the law if you did. AND for the record, there is a difference between copy writing and plagiarizing (you can research those). You can always get ideas from other bloggers, but never ever copy anything from their posts WITHOUT recognizing them.

Waste time in forums and communities. You are going to hear a lot of people suggest you do this. But my suggestion is to find 3 to 4 forums or small social networks you like. Share the same postings from your blog with these select forums, on a regular basis. You may not be recognized at first, but eventually they will notice you.

Spam. Not only is this annoying but it’s bad “etiquette”, if you will, for bloggers. One example of spamming is coldly commenting in a forum or on another bloggers site and including your website information:

                                                                 Cool.

Imabloggertoo.com

NOT cool. Another form of spamming is sending your blogs to people that didn't ask to read them. Post them on your blog, forums and communities. If people are interested in reading them they will find you.

Post every day. Not only does that put a lot of pressure on you, but people don’t have time to read your posts daily. Think of all of the online publications, newsletters and bloggers you are subscribed to. If they send you information everyday, do you actually read it? The truth is, NO. So don’t put your readers through that. Give them something to look forward to every week. Now on to the DOs!

DO...

Get advise from an experienced blogger. If there are certain blogs you have found that you really like, take it upon yourself to email the blogger and see if they would mentor you. Find a good business coach that may be able to help you focus in on what your goals are.

Ask for feedback. NOT from people in the forums you choose, but from your family and friends. They are our toughest critics. So, if they have suggestions or opinions about your blog posting, take it in stride. Don't take EVERYTHING to heart and change everything they think you should, but you should definitely take their suggestions into consideration.

Be patient. I say this all the time: Just because you create a blog or website and throw it out on the WORLD WIDE WEB (notice the word, WORLD), doesn't mean people are going to flock to it. It will take a little time to build popularity but it is definitely possible. You just have to be patient and keep posting and keep directing people to your site.

Write UNIQUE and CREATIVE content. Even if you know what you are going to write about, you need to make sure it is DIFFERENT from everyone else's. Also, you do not have to write about the SAME subject in every posting if you do not want. Make it interesting for your readers so they will keep coming back for more.

Get paid for blogging. Well yeah! What other reason would you be blogging for? There are several ways you can get paid to blog. One way, is to get advertisers on your site, that will take some time to happen, but it is definitely possible. Another way to get paid for blogging is to find a blogging platform that will pay you to actually blog and show others how to do the same. I use a great system that does just that. You can sign in and find out more here => BeFamousOnline2

Blogging does not have to be difficult or tedious. It can actually be fun to share with others your life, opinion or information that could help them. You just need to keep in mind some DOs and DON'Ts so you can be a SUCCESSFUL blogger.

Have you heard of this television show? I have been anticipating the debut of this show on the Centric Television Network, for a few weeks now. It's a reality TV show highlighting the life of a few  millionaires (Chyna Bethley, Dorothy Cook, Helen Dela Houssaye, Bryant & Deborah Huff, Robert & Nicola Jackson, Kenny & Chante Lloyd, Lidia McKinney, Erika McQueen, Erwin & Twiler Portis, and Stormy Wellington). I know, I know. Sounds like every other reality show in existance, but this one is different... It's different because these millionaires didn't inherit their money. These millionaires aren't has-been actors or associated with Hollywood. These millionaires didn't even get their money from growing a successful "bricks and clicks" business. These millionaires are the result of building successful Network Marketing businesses. Or in other words, Multi-level Marketing (MLM), or Direct Marketing business. Urbanham.com says, these millionaires earned their money "...in a relatively short period of time and at relatively vibrant ages". The purpose of the show (besides showing off the lifestyles of these network marketing business owners) is to launch a contest between the millionaires to find  and groom the next successful business owner.

Turns out, Amateur Millionaire's Club (AMC) has been brewing for a few years and it finally debuted on Saturday July 7, 2012. This show was in true reality TV fashion, including "unscripted" drama, events, and the lavish lives of these millionaires. BESIDES all of that, I really enjoyed the message being sent that Network Marketing really works and ANYONE can do it.

My dad hit me up to the Network Marketing game about 10 years ago. The simple business model, compensation plans, and low start up fees (in comparison to a franchise) is what caught my eye. Ever since then, I have been in business somehow through a Network, Direct or Internet Marketing company. Along with the other services I offer, this business model has just been the best choice for me. As shown on the AMC, Network Marketing is a very lucrative business. Especially as a first business model. Not only do you OWN a business, but you learn key business skills along with marketing strategies, all with a team of people that are really looking to see you succeed. Because if you succeed, they succeed! Recently, I have been exploring the world of internet marketing. It is just like network marketing except you do mostly everything ONLINE. It is very convenient and you get the same results, if not better! It is definitely a good business model to look into to supplement your current business. You can find out more here => YouCanAlwaysCancel.com

After watching the first two episodes of the Amateur Millionaire's Club,  I enjoyed seeing what these people have done for themselves and how they are still on their grind. It is great motivation to actually witness the fruits of the labor of those in the same position as yourself. Stormy Wellington stated in Urbanham.com that, “There was a point in my life when I understood that I was the creator of my own destiny and I knew that I had to get myself out of the (debt increasing) situation that I was headed towards".  If you have not had a chance to catch this show, I encourage you to do so, or check out a few of the millionaires on Youtube. You will  definitely learn SOMETHING.

"Referred to in Success Magazine as a group that spreads wealth, reaches new heights, and creates purpose driven opportunities; the Amateur Millionaire’s Club is vastly redefining wealth in the African American community as the world knows it" (Urbanham.com).

Exciting Rep site updates

There have been some exciting new changes that have taken place on your Rep site today! Below are the highlights of the updates.

  • There is one location for your prospects to visit. There are no longer separate sites to view Rep Opportunity details and Travel Program details.
  • There is a fresh new look with the focus on Travel! The landing page on your Rep site that a prospect will see is all about the Travel Program. We’ve even added a Join Now link to every page a prospect would view for the Travel Program and Rep Opportunity.
  • The products have been removed from the menu at the top and placed under the products tab at the bottom of the Rep Site.
  • You can still send prospects or customers directly to Rep, Ganovia, and Z Mobile pages. Instead of sending them to ytb.com/userid, all you have to do is add the product name to the beginning of the URL.
    • For example: If I wanted to send a customer directly to my Ganovia Rep site to purchase coffee I would send them to: ganovia.ytb.com/userid
    • They would still be able to get to information about the Travel Program and Rep Opportunity.
  • You will also notice that Suklaa and GreenTech have been removed from the Rep site.

Social media and a travel business – Ideas for the RTA!

One of the great things about YTB is that there’s not a wrong way to work your business. You just have to try different things and figure out a marketing strategy that works to your strengths. And, talking to others and asking questions is a great way to start figuring out your plan. Last week, Gordon asked a great question regarding Facebook. I’ve included our conversation here. What other ideas would you add? Get creative and post your thoughts in the comments!

Gordon: “Hi Caryn,
Do you have any tips on setting up a business page on FB, making it look nice? I am trying to get more of my FB friends to “Like” my business and show them and their contacts the value of doing business with me.”

Caryn: “Hi Gordon! Setting up a business page with Facebook is a great way to spread the word about your business. However, it’s not a small task. You have to be dedicated to posting great content for your fans. (Something I know you can do!) With the new timeline features, you have some amazing real estate to grab attention. Can I ask what side of the business you’ll be promoting? In other words, are you promoting your travel business for people to book travel with you or are you thinking about marketing our Travel Program and other products as a Rep? Let me know, and we’ll continue to discuss. One word of caution, the timeline format, which allows you to choose a cover photo… There are specific rules for that. You can’t have any call to action, price or purchase information, or any type of contact info. Meaning – Don’t put your web URL, email or phone number on that piece as it is a violation of Facebook policy.”

Gordon: “Thanks for that tip! I am promoting buying travel. I want to grow my team and I am working on that. Do you think promoting that I am looking for travel agents to join my team that I will pull in more travel customers too? My independent travel agency specializes in Honeymoon Registries, Group Travel and non-profit fundraising. I am trying to work with churches, non-profits to raise funds and have affordable travel solutions for their people.
Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated! I have 800 plus people on FB friend list, but only 100 liking my business. I want to capture more!”

Caryn: “Hey Gordon! I think you’re doing it right. I wouldn’t mix your Rep and RTA businesses. Those are separate opportunities that need to be marketed separately. The key is going to be content. Keep posting content that will engage people, ask questions, and post content that people will want to share. Particularly in travel, several of our vendors have Facebook pages with videos and photos you can reshare on your page. With non-profit fundraising in particular, Carnival has a great fundraising program that I doubt many people know about. How about putting together a group to raise funds for the church youth group? Maybe a marriage encounter with the pastor? Then, ask them to share photos of their trip and recap how much money was raised for the youth group. Get testimonials and post them on your page letting everyone know you are their travel professional of choice. Another way to help grow your page, make sure that you’re telling your clients about it. When you meet newly engaged couples, tell them to connect on your Facebook page. (If you have some current clients with honeymoon registries, ask them for an engagement picture to announce on your page and tell people about their registry.) There are so many things that you can do. Get creative. Don’t be afraid to start conversations. One more, if you know any area RTAs who have pages, ask them to help you get the conversation going by responding on your page, and then you do the same for them. Sometimes if you can just get a few of your friends talking, the conversation will follow from potential customers. I hope this helps you Gordon! Just remember to have fun!”

Remember to share your thoughts in the comments, and let’s discuss!

We will see you at the top.

You’ve probably heard people talk about the 80/20 Rule in network marketing. Coach’s newest blog post addresses this rule and helps you understand how to apply it in your YTB business. Read on for more, and be sure to leave your thoughts for Coach in the comments!

A great teacher a couple thousand years ago created an analogy about life that you can apply to your business. The analogy is that when you are planting seeds, some will fall in the path and be trampled. Some will fall into the weeds, where they will suffocate. Others will fall into shallow soil, sprout quickly and die out. Then, a select few will fall into rich, fertile soil and grow tall and strong.

We can apply this in network marketing. Take a look at your team. Some people on your team will try hard, but will quit soon after signing up for different reasons. Other team members will quit simply because there will be too much competition around them to where they won’t be successful. Others will go out and sell many travel programs the first few weeks, and then that’s it for them. A few team members, however, will establish a great foundation, continue to build their team, and be very successful.

John Maxwell teaches a concept he calls the 80/20 rule. This rule stems from the Pareto principle created by Vilfredo Pareto, an Italian economist. Pareto observed that 80% of income in Italy was received by 20% of the Italian population.

The translation into network marketing is that generally 20% of your people will do 80% of the work in your company. This can be applied to all aspects of life. I have seen it in the ministry, sales, network marketing and many other facets of life. Many times in networking we are trying to help everyone win. We will spend more time with the 80% that are struggling, instead of pushing our 20% of people actually doing the majority of the work.

We should focus our strengths on the people that want to work. Those that don’t might at a later time put something together, but until then, work with your people that are busting it everyday. Think about how many more travel program sales they could be making if you focused your efforts on them. John Maxwell says that if you focus on helping the top 20% of your people, you will increase your productivity by 400%.

John Maxwell also says, “Thinking ahead and prioritizing your responsibilities marks the major differences between a leader and a follower.” These are two very difficult things for business people to do.

You must always look to the future and do things in order of importance. With YTB, I am always focusing on helping more people and working towards becoming the largest travel company in the world. Set goals for yourself. Be realistic, but don’t set them too low. Challenge yourself. Maybe your goal is to become a Director. That is a great goal, and you should keep that goal in mind, but also set smaller goals. Goals like you will sell five travel programs a week or host two travel parties a month.

The second part of that is to stick to your goals. If your goals become too easy, make them harder. Continue to challenge yourself until you make that goal as Director. Then, reprioritize your goals to suit your new status.

Be proactive when you are looking ahead at your week. Focus your time where it is needed most. Remember your goals, and you will be successful. - Coach

Coach is back with a brand new blog post! This time he’s discussing goal setting and how you can get back on track for 2012. Be sure to tell Coach your goals for the remainder of the year in the comments, and let’s have an explosive second half of 2012!

Journey back to New Year’s Eve. A typical scenario is at home with your family and kids, maybe some close friends. You share a nice dinner together for the last time that year. Then, you cuddle up on the couch. The fire cackles in the background as you sip coffee and reminisce about the previous year. You watch the coverage from New York City waiting anxiously for the ball to drop signifying the beginning of a new year. Then someone says it: My New Year’s resolution is…

So many times the end of that sentence will be to lose weight or make more money this year. Sometimes it will just be to have a good year. So, how’d you do this year? My guess would be that you may be a little behind or even given up all together on your goals. The reason is because you didn’t set clear enough goals that are measurable. If you want to lose weight, how much weight? If you want to make more money, how much money?

It is so important to set good goals for yourself that are stretchingly realistic and measurable. You don’t want to set a goal that is too easy, but yet you don’t want to set a goal that is too hard. You want to be in the middle somewhere that will push you to work a little bit harder.

Now, you might be wondering why Coach is talking about goals in July. Well, your goals help you to keep your drive. When things aren’t going the way you would like, think about your goal to get through it. You should always know what you’re working towards. Take a few minutes to evaluate your goals from New Year’s Eve. How can you make them measurable if they’re not? Were your goals too easy? Were they too hard? Now, let’s set some new goals for the remainder of the year. Here’s how I set my goals. I have a process that I follow in a specific order. It’s like in baseball; you wouldn’t try to score by running to third base from home plate.

To score a run, you start by running to first base. First base is where you will take inventory of where you’re at in your life. For example, you can look at where you are financially and decide on where you want to be next year. Don’t just say that you would like to do better next year. Decide on a specific number based on what you had done last year and make it a little higher than what you think you could do this year.

If you’re broke right now, set a goal to make $50,000. If you are making a substantial amount of money, try to double or triple it. There is a psychological advantage of having an actual number for your mind to grasp and actively work towards. Your mind doesn’t grasp, “I want to make more money.” Start making and saving money to reach your goals with a specific number in mind.

Once you’ve rounded first base, the next thing to do is decide on a plan of action. What are you going to do to reach your goal? You have to be willing to pay the price. You need to decide how much you are willing to give up for your goal and what it will take to reach it.

Once you’ve rounded second and are sprinting to third, you have to establish a date. That’s another reason why I love to set goals at the beginning of the year. The date for the end of my goals is at the end of that year. I also establish check points through out the year to make sure I’m on pace to hit my goal at the end of the year. I like to look at progress monthly. This way I can see precisely that I’m on track or if I need to pick it up a little bit. Put together your plan for the remainder of the year, and then carry it out.

As the Coach is waving you towards home plate, write down your goals and share them with other people. Don’t rely on your memory. That will give you mushy goals. It makes it really easy to let yourself off the hook. Write them down and stick them all over your house. Write one on a 3×5 index card to carry around in your pocket, one to put on your bathroom mirror and one for your fridge. Writing your goals down will keep you accountable and will also be a driving force to help you reach your goals. Whenever something doesn’t quite go your way, you can look at that piece of paper and refocus. The little junk in your life will not be a factor because you are actively pursuing your goals and won’t have time to worry about it.

If you will run the bases correctly, you will score. Each year that you score, you will be working towards your larger goal of winning the game: the game of finding success! ~ Coach

PRLog (Press Release) - Jul 03, 2012 -
Social Media Day 2012 tallied in around the world about 455 communities and 4499 members in its meetup.com community.

That’s just on meetup.com – typically where the social media enthusiasts and “early adopters” hang out.

But what about those who are not early adopters and are just trying to “get” what social media is really all about? Who speaks to them?

In metro Detroit, it’s Pam Perry, Clara Wilkerson and Bob Ivory – all baby boomers who have leveraged their traditional media careers to reinvent their businesses via social media.

Bob Ivory, of Ivory Coast Communications, led the charge, see this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Px7CyIn-xIk&feature=plcp

“We wanted to show Baby Boomers or those not used to technology some quick tips and tricks on how to make social media work for them – and inspire them to really take social media marketing seriously, said Pam Perry, an award-winning social media strategist and public relations coach, the event’s organizer.

“Boomers feel left behind because everything is moving and changing so fast online. No one takes the time to show them how and why social networking is important for business and building their personal brand online,” said Perry.

The three-hour workshop showed inspirational videos, went over the basics of each social media platform and why/how to use each one.  Perry did a “brand” check on each person and challenged them to set up a page while in the session.

Cynthia Grant Brown an attendee at the social media day event in Farmington Hills had this to say: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&v=KBQ...

Special guest, Khaliph Young, City of Detroit Digital Strategist, told the attendees “if you don’t include social media as part of your marketing and messaging with your audiences – you’re going to be irrelevant in the future. Even Detroit Mayor Dave Bing has a Twitter account – we have to stay connected to the community.”

The event got high marks overall and one attendee, Rev. Ortheia Barnes, a pastor and TV personality in Detroit, said, “My head was swimming with ideas during the session.  I immediately put some of them to test after the event and I got over 50 responses back on social media – some as far as Mexico. It’s working.”

The plans for the 2013 Social Media Day in Farmington Hills, Michigan are underway and presenters are already being scheduled.

Social Media PR Solutions, named after the parent company, Ministry Marketing Solutions, gave every attendee a free ebook and 30 minutes of follow up coaching after the event.

“I wanted to make sure everyone clearly understood the why and how of social media and for them to share the information among their associates. Social networking with confidence or swagger is our goal. So next year, we’ll be learning and celebrating on Social Media Day,” said Perry.
