In today's post I want to respond to one of the comments on mysurvey. The question was:How do I get clear when I have so many things I like, but no real "passion" for any one particular thing? Especially in terms of business/careerWhen talking about getting clear whether it's personal, spiritual or business itbegins with you. Many times we focus on the external when talking about ourbusiness/career when in essence the problem may lie internally.The first place I like to begin in a situation such as this is self discoveryor with a self assessment. Before we get clear we must know more about ourselves.Get clear on things such asWhat matters most to you?What are your limiting beliefs?What are your core values?This will also help in the endeavor to discover or rediscover your passion.And then there's focus. This is one area which can set you up forsabotage of your empowering success and that is a lack of focus. OK ladies it's Valentine's day tomorrow and I know there are mixed emotions.
Included in this blog post on savvy women's tips I want to share some insight
on love and hopefully motivate you to look at your life in a different way.

Bravo!!!! To those of you who are already living this way.

The greatest love to we as Christians is Father God's love as He gave His
only son for us.

I'd like you to remember that, however, I'd also like to focus on you.
Yes, you. In the bible it says to love your neighbor as you love yourself,
however, all too many times that's the problem we don't love ourselves!!
Ladies until we can learn to love ourselves it doesn't matter one bit how
many brothas, fellas you have.

You will probably self sabotage every relationship because you are
counting on the man to fulfill you and "to make you happy!"

You must come to terms with how unique, how special how absolutely
incredible you are. You are a unique one of a kind gift from Father God.
He didn't make robots.

There is a song that was so-o-o-o very instrumental in my learning to
love myself and to feel good about myself. It was a song that Whitney
Houston sang very early in her career and some of the words said
"learning to love yourself is the greatest love of all."

You see when you love yourself you are less inclined to be intimidated
by those with more education, money, followers (smile) than you. A better
car, home, body than you might think that you have. You will be so confident
in who and whose you are that excuse me "none of it matters" enough to stop
or block you.

My gift to you is to challenge you to discover more about you.
Discover your core values, what makes you unique, what your purpose is.
And this savvy woman will help you live a delicious life with no apologies.

Empowerment is a choice and life is full of decisions and choices. The choices we make can either lead us down a road of prosperity “spirit, soul and body.” One thing to keep in mind is that prosperity is not just about money. There are also roads that lead to poverty, isolation and despair based on our decision and/or choice.As women we remain in limbo because there are so many decisions to make inour lives. We fill so many roles. Continue to read as I share tips for ajuicy manifestation of women's life empowerment!How do we know which choice to make, what decision will render the best result. What is the guarantee that we would choose the right one along the way?Step out and move forward. There are no guarantees. Keep this in mind whenendeavoring to realize life empowerment.You do not really know where a road will lead you until you take it. There are no guarantees. This is one of the most important things you need to realize about life. Nobody said that choosing to do the right thing all the time would always lead you to happiness. Loving someone with all your heart does not guarantee that it would be returned. Gaining fame and fortune does not guarantee happiness. There are too many possible outcomes, which you really cannot control. The only thing you have power over is the decisions that you will make, and how you would act and react to different situations.• Hindsight is 20/20Have you heard the cliché’ hindsight is always 20/20? Wrong decisions are always at hindsight. Had you known that you were making a wrong decision, would you have gone along with it? Perhaps not, why would you choose a certain path when you know it would get you lost? Why make a certain decision if you knew from the very beginning that it is not the right one. It is only after you have made a decision and reflected on it that you realize its soundness. One way to assess whether another a decision was correct or not is if the consequences or outcomes are good for you, then you have decided correctly. Otherwise, your decision was wrong.Seek wisdom. In the bible it says Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Proverbs 4:7• Arm yourself with as much information as you can about the situation.You cannot find the confidence to decide when you know so little about what you are faced with. Just like any news reporter, ask the 5 W’s: what, who, when, where, and why. What is the situation? Who are the people involved? When did this happen? Where is this leading? Why are you in this situation? These are just some of the possible questions to ask to know more about your situation. This is important. Oftentimes, the reason for indecision is the lack of information about a situation.• Identify and create options.What options do the situation give you? Sometimes the options are few, but sometimes they are numerous. But what do you do when you think that the situation offers no options? This is the time that you create your own. Make your creative mind work. From the most simplistic to the most complicated, entertain all ideas. Do not shoot anything down when an idea comes to your head. Sometimes the most outrageous idea could prove to be the right one in the end. You can ask a friend to help you identify options and even make more options if you encounter some difficulty, but make sure that you make the decision yourself in the end.Assess each option by looking at the advantages and disadvantages it offers you. In this way, you get more insights about the consequences of such an option. Weigh the pros and cons of every option.Now that you have assessed your options, it is now time to trust yourself. Remember that there are no guarantees and wrong decisions are always at hindsight. So choose… decide… believe that you are choosing the best option at this point in time.One more thing, never make a choice or decision in an angry mode. This is the worst time to make a decision. Move away from the situation and give yourself time to reflect and pray. WSW Lady of the Week

Kaysha Reid has a story that is remarkable to say the least. She has used a difficult health condition and transformed it into a testimonial and a motivation. She helps others cope by encouraging them to have overall wellness using biblical principals. In an interview with Major Change Magazine Kaysha said “I have a condition called Alopecia – which is an auto-immune disease that attacks the hair follicles. I was diagnosed at age 19, which was quite difficult for me, because the effects of Alopecia are really emotional and psychological. To lose your hair and be robbed of your self – confidence at age 19 (when you are supposed to be developing into womanhood) can be quite traumatic.” Because of this experience she has grown closer to God in every area of her life. She has dedicated her self to helping others cope through her Divine Wellness Center.This is a place where you can go and find rest, empowerment, support and answers. There is something for everybody there. I love the site so much that I created a group on my network where my members can experience taste of the knowledge that she has to offer. Kaysha is a certified Biblical Health Coach, and she has her teacher certification in meditation. What a great combination!

She has truly been a blessing in my life. Kaysha has taught me so much about integrity, support and humility. When Kaysha says she is going to do something you can believe that it will be done. If she is unable to do it she will let you know as soon as she knows she can’t.As a new network I have been inspired by her site in many ways and I have been blessed to take many ideas form the way she does things, I asked her how she felt about that and she responded “I truly believe there is room for all of us to succeed and so if I can inspire others, then to God be the Glory. Do your thing my sister...”It brought tears to my eyes because that is the true spirit of support. I have received some opposition recently and this type of affirmation meant the world to me. Social Networks - "The Purpose" Part 2

I want to say thank you to all of you that responded to Part one of this post. I appreciated all of the comments whether they were good or bad, sweet or bitter. I welcome all suggestions, comments or critics because it brings awareness to the mindset of my valued readers.This response is to clear the air and to make sure that I make my intentions known to all. The blog was intended to raise awareness not to attack anyone or their site. If I’m a member of your site then that means that you haven’t failed me, when members start leaving that’s when you start becoming concerned. I posed the following questions concerning social networks on the previous post:1. Does the network description, mission or purpose match what is actually happening?2. Do you receive feed back and information from site manager, group leaders etc?3. Are the groups active? Meaning is there a discussion thread started at least once a week?4. Is the network administrator accessible?5. The blogs, are they informative and submitted daily? (Versus Just marketing holes)These were just questions to think about, I still feel that they are valid as a voluntary member of all ning sites. As a member and network administrator I have expectations, it’s a two-way street. Now if your site is a private group that you reign over, then yes you may have a dictatorship and then that site may not be for everyone. However the sites that I administrate are meant to be community based, meaning everyone is important and valued. For if you have a membership site and you have no members…what purpose would that serve?So with that said, my points are intended for my members too, I want to be held to a standard and would hope that my other network administrators should feel the same way. It’s not to say that if you don’t meet all those areas that you have a bad site or you’re not doing your job, it’s just something to think about. Maybe you are too busy in your offline life. Some suggestions may be to elicit group leaders or site administrators. And of course essentially it is your site, to do as you please with it and by all means I respect anyone’s wishes, I’m really easy to get along with...However tonight I was ask to leave someone’s network because of that blog and to be honest I had never had a conversation with her before, no welcome to the site, nothing. You can’t please everyone and you will die trying. I feel I have a voice and I will not be muzzled but I have enough humility to know when to say maybe I should have been clearer with my intentions. Maybe I should have reworded that etc…I only named a few sites because I did not want to make a long list and leave out 3 sites and those administrators would have thought I was talking about them. I’m a member of 40+ sites and I was a member of 50+ I already left the ones that I was talking about. I would never get on a persons site and post a blog attacking them that would be so rude and just plan wrong.In addition let it be known what a blog is:“A blog is basically a journal that is available on the web. The activity of updating a blog is “blogging” and someone who keeps a blog is a “blogger.” SourceSo when reading a blog please understand that they are meant to inform, entertain, encourage or provoke thought. But at the end of the day their just a person’s personal views, ideas and blurbs. Now if the person is a verifiable expert on that subject matter then that is when you can make there blog semi-law and still there is room for flaws. Don’t be so quick to condemn them. Social Networks, "The Purpose"

I have a few points to ponder as it concerns Social Networks! I had a conversation with a member of one of my Ning sites and we both were concerned about the growing number of Ning sites that are no more than a space full of faces and no activity. I’m a member of 40+ Ning sites and this doesn’t include the many other social networks that I’ve joined. I must admit that I use them all as a marketing tool, however I only joined sites that interest me, for instance I wouldn’t join a site for ladies who love snakes just because there’s a lot of ladies on the network. I can’t stand the sight of snakes so that wouldn’t work for me, no matter how many women I can pitch my spill to.With that said I went on every site and asked my self five questions:1. Does the network description, mission or purpose match what is actually happening?2. Do you receive feed back and information from site manager, group leaders etc?3. Are the groups active? Meaning is there a discussion thread started at least once a week?4. Is the network administrator accessible?5. The blogs, are they informative and submitted daily? (Versus Just marketing holes)Clearly most of the sites failed miserably. This taught me a lot about what not to do as a Ning Network Administrator. I have a desire to recruit sustain members that are interested in my mission and want to benefit from being on my networks. I decided that quality is better that quantity; I have at least 10 members that joined and haven’t been back on the network since. Now what purpose does that serve?

On Women Support Women you will receive the following, if not I hope that you would cancel membership:• Groups will have a leader that creates discussion and evokes activity weekly.• A weekly theme that is inspirational and motivational.• Access to network administrator (I return emails, answers questions, welcome suggestions etc)• Access to monthly workshops• An environment that matches the site mission and description.I want you to know that these are my goals and I want to be held accountable. If this network is for you please join and hold me to it. I want to be the best but I have learned a lot of good and bad from the rest. Let me put the good on Blast, the bad well we won’t discuss them.Sites that are vibrant have active groups, the administrator is accessible to some degree, the blogs are excellent and I feel at home. No particular order, some are large, some are growing. This is just 5. I know there’s probably many more out there. I would love to hear your response. I think that Social Networks are great but when they're targeted to a center niche, the audience is there because they expect certain things from it. It’s not MySpace, facebook or Black Planet. We expect to be lost in the crowd on those networks. One thing you must know for maximum breakthrough in 2010A mindset shift is crucial. I’ve talked about mindset for quite abit and I will continue to talk about it because it is one thingthat sabotages our success in life. There are a coupleof mindset shifts that need to happen if you’re going to havebreakthrough in 2010 and realize the benefits of women’s empowerment.I’ll list four of them below.1. ThoughtsYour thoughts play a big role in what you manifest and have manifested.Your subconscious mind is ready to move on what you say and what youthink. It doesn’t know the difference between Whether you’re serious orif your statement or thought is temporary based on your current situationor not. Your subconscious mind is ready to move on whatever you presentto it as such it’s important that you make the shift towards a positivemindset.Your thoughts become energy. If your thoughts are negative, theenergy is negative; If positive , then the energy is positive.When emotions become involved with the thoughts, the energy is evenstronger. The energy, however, doesn’t remain dormant – it expands.It expands each time you think your thought.As energy builds and gains strength, it begins to attract like energy.Like a magnet, the energy attracts other like matter to it. Since theenergy is inside you, it attracts the like matter to you.As you can see, negative thoughts and energy weaken you and yourability to achieve.2. Quantum leapThere’s no more time to move slow on your aspirations. It’s time to makequantum leaps. Time to think bigger, dream bigger and live bigger. Social media and Web 2.0 have been here for some time now. Experts predict that this trend will only grow. That means if you don’t start using social media now – today – you’ll be left behind.In my interactions with women in my networks I hear confusion, a little anxiety and apprehension where it concerns using social media.It can be a very good resource when you lay a good foundation and understand some of the guidelines.Listed below are 4 tips for effectively using social media to drive traffic to your sites…1. Complete your profile.When you first open your Twitter, Facebook, Squidoo or other social media site account, fill out your profile (including a picture). Doing so makes it easier for people to get to know you and build relationships with you, which will make it more likely they’ll click through to your site. Did you know that some of your potential followers will not follow simply because you didn’t provide a picture?If you’re serious about your business (and I know you are) take the time to include a picture.2. Interact.It is no coincidence that the name Social sites includes the word social. They’re two way streets (not monologues). That’s why you shouldn’t just post content and move on. Instead, spend a few minutes each day interacting and getting to know people in your network. Simply respond to tweets, updates etc. The key again is to be social. Now you do this within reason and you don’t spend all day on social media networks. That’s another topic.3. Include a link to your site on your profile page.Your profile page is considered real estate and you must use all of your internet real estate to the full potential. This tip is simple but effective: Give people a reason to click through from the social media site to your blog or squeeze page. Your potential customer/client must get to know, like and trust you and this is aGood way to get started.4. Ask your followers/friends to retweetOn twitter your updates are called tweets and other sites my be updates or posts. If you create a “buzzworthy” post (such as a post on a hot or even controversial niche topic), ask your Twitter followers to “retweet” it. You can simply include “Plz RT” at the end of your tweets since there is a 140 character limit.Now is the time to get involved if you’d like to grow your business. There are many interpretations of the word empowerment. I've listeda simple definition below.Empowerment: The act of giving power and authority to a person to perform his designated tasks and being enabled to do what is needed to accomplish agiven task, goal and mission.Empowerment is a choice. You either choose to embrace empowermentby learned life skill sets and other avenues or choose to sabotage anylevel of success by continuing disempowering behaviors, neglectingto learn and apply best practices and by failing to get clear on yourvision, goals and purpose in life.Women today fulfill many roles and most are either in businessand experience phenomenal success or in business and are slowlybecoming disenchanted with the whole idea of women in business.Business empowerment entails being diligent in utilizing effectivesystems. Just as you have a system down for washing clothes, payingbills or handling correspondence etc., there are systems that when useddiligently will empower your business.The question is how bad to you want it? Business Empowerment.I was watching the movie "Temptations" with my family and I recall onescene where Berry Gordy asked his quality control team when listeningto one of the Temp's songs which one would you choose the record or asandwich? The response to the first song was a sandwich.The next time he asked their response was the record. Being arecording artist and songwriter myself I totally understood whatwas being implied.The concept was in order for the song to be a hit a customer would needto desire the record so much that they would pass up buying something toeat if they had to make that choice.Well how do you see your business? Do you want it bad enough that you'dpass up a couple nights out to be able to invest in the system or program thatyou know will propel you forward?
