A Roof Over Our Heads

This post is short and sweet and to the point. My son & I are no longer homeless. There is so much more to say on the matter, but because we were homeless, I have fallen behind in things, and must catch-up, delete, add-on, clean-up things, etc., online. I will elaborate on these things later. I just want to let everyone know that we were alright.

Here is one small, request for now.Listen, I recently acquired a "traffic exchange" called "Tuscany Traffic". Which means simply that I am "owner" & "administrator". Please, please, go and check it out. Many of you can advertise your online websites and businesses there. Until later...

Meeting a guy shouldn't be work

“It shouldn’t take this much work to meet a guy.”

That’s how I felt 7 years ago when I was single and looking for love.  I was meeting men I didn’t like but felt I couldn’t ignore my desires for marriage and family.  My love life felt like a job as I went from one singles event to another.

After a while, dating stopped being fun – until I discovered the key to dating that made it both fun and easy to meet eligible, attractive men.

Now that I’m a relationship coach, my number 1 goal is to help single women enjoy the process of meeting ‘the one’.

Dating can feel stressful sometimes, but honestly that’s because today we’re dating in a way that makes it virtually impossible to meet the right man.

In fact, over the past few years, I’ve counted 11 different things that keep women from meeting Mr. Right.

I’ve put together a webinar detailing these 11 roadblocks to meeting Mr. Right and I’ll be presenting it LIVE on Saturday, March 12th, 2011 at 12pm EST.

If you want to learn my simple and easy recipe for meeting Mr. Right and why what you’ve been doing hasn’t worked, get access at http://www.readytobeawife.com/webinar.html.

Until then, here are a few things to remember about dating:

  1. Dating shouldn’t feel like a job – If dating stresses you out, then you’re probably looking at it the wrong way.  When I want a good laugh, I just remember some of the crazy dates I’ve been on and the weird men who are out there (no offense if I’ve dating a relative of yours).
  2. It doesn’t take long to meet the right guy – When you know the right way to date, you’ll be surprised how quickly you meet men you could fall for.  If you’ve been actively dating for 6 months and haven’t met a few Mr. Maybe’s, something’s not right.
  3. Being clear on what you need from a relationship makes things so much easier – When you know what you need, there’s no reason to date men who don’t or won’t give it to you.  You know you better than anyone else, so ask yourself “What do I need in a relationship to feel safe, appreciated and loved?”  Date the ones who give you what you need and ignore the ones who don’t.

Because I am a business and marketing coach and I work with entrepreneurs, who are by nature extremely creative people, I find that many of them get caught in what I've affectionately called the "cute syndrome." You know, cute little names for programs and services, a pretty website with lots of color and no content or call to actions that produce results and create income, catch phrases and buzz words and sometimes even jargon. The big challenge when you're stuck in the "cute syndrome" is that it is seldom clear and effective in getting your ideal clients to see you as the only solution to their problem, which after all is the reason we are all in business, right?

Once I explain to you what I explain to my private clients, they get it almost immediately. Cute doesn't attract clients, cute doesn't have money deposited into your checking account; cute seldom pays the bills. I assert don't be cute if clarity is the sacrifice.
To become a successful service based entrepreneur, you've got to move beyond cute and focus on clarity. People only take action when the next best step is crystal clear. To create an environment where your ideal clients can move easily and effortlessly through your prospect and sales funnel, you've got to get clear on the transformation you provide as well as the results and benefits they will experience in working with you and displaying it in a language that is compelling, engaging and action-oriented.
Here are a few quick questions/tips you should consider to ensure that your content, sales copy, programs, products and services are clear and not just cute:
1. When I visit your website, will I immediately be able to tell the transformation that I will experience if I opt to work with you?
Most first time visitors to your website will never look beyond the fold of your website so, your best stuff, the clarity of what you do must be laid out in a "power statement" making it obvious who you work with, how you solve their problem and the results they get from moment go. If you fail to do that, ideal client prospects will click away, never to return.
2. Is your marketing messaging and website content compelling, engaging and easy to read?
Again, don't be cute; be clear about your compelling marketing messages and case studies to illustrate what you do, how you do it and what others will gain when they hire you. To write compelling copy is essential if you want to allow your website to make you money while you sleep.
3. Do you have social proof to validate the transformation you claim to provide?
It's great that you say you can do something amazing for your clients. Really, it is. But who else is saying it? Are you previous clients singing your praises? are the signing up to work with you again after their program is complete? Do you have one page on your website designated to reflect success stories or testimonials?
4. Does your Incredible Factor (USP, HUG, secret sauce and signature move stand out)?
Your Incredible Factor is your unique selling proposition, value proposition, hot undeniable gift, secret sauce and signature move all rolled into one yummy client magnetic package. When a prospect lands on your website is it clear to them how you stand out in the marketplace or do they look at your pictures and whisper, "aaww, that's cute;" before they click away?
5. Are your call to actions clear, strategically placed so the prospect doesn't get lost of confused?
Do you clearly lay out a path for prospects to follow to get closer to working with you or do they need to poke around until they find that needle in your website's haystack?
6. Are your programs designed to make the results clear and are the next steps that should be taken clear and easy to follow?
Are you so focused on selling the contents of your programs that you never tell what participants have gained by being enrolled? Do you tell them what to do next if they'd like to enroll?
7. Do you have a way for them to sample your offerings that is irresistible?
An irresistible free offer is like the pink spoon at Baskin Robbins...it's just enough to entice them to buy the full size...do you have one that they'd do anything to have?
As you can see, cute doesn't pay off in the world of entrepreneurship. So take my advice - stop being cute and get clear.
If you desire to gain clarity so that your cute creates cash, contact me for a Play Big Strategy Session - in 60 minutes I will replace your cute with clear so that you become an ideal client magnet.

How to Gather Free Beauty Samples

Have you heard of free beauty samples before? If you have, have you been requesting them whenever you come across free sample offers? If you haven’t, you may want to think about doing so, as there are a number of benefits to requesting free beauty samples, a few of which are briefly touched on below.

One of the many benefits of requesting free beauty samples is that they are free. Many times, you don’t even have to pay for the cost of shipping. Depending on who the free sample in question is being offered by, the product manufacturer or the retailer in question will ship the free sample to you free of charge. When you look at it that way, what do you have to lose by requesting free beauty samples?

Another one of the many benefits to requesting free beauty samples is the products that you can find available. For starters, free beauty samples come in a number of different sizes, but you are often only given a free trial size. As for the actual free beauty sample, you will find that there are a number of products for you to choose from. For instance, free beauty samples often include makeup, perfume, skincare creams, lotions, shampoos, conditioners, and so forth. No matter what you are looking for, in terms of a beauty product, you should be able to find some form of that product type available as a free sample.

Speaking of what you are looking for, that leads to another one of the many benefits to requesting free beauty samples. Requesting free beauty samples is relatively easy to do. In fact, you have a number of different options. One of the best ways to go about requesting free beauty samples is by using the internet. When using the internet to find free beauty samples, you will want to think about performing a standard internet search. You may want to visit the online websites of beauty product manufacturers, as well as beauty supply stores, as they often have free sample request forms on their websites.

You can also use the internet to find free beauty samples by visiting websites that are regularly referred to as freebie sites or free product sample websites. These websites are often in message board formats so that internet users can share free product samples that they come across online with others. What is nice about visiting a free product sample website is that you will not only find links to free beauty samples, but a wide range of other sample types, including books, movies, food, pet products, and baby products.

It may also be a good idea for you to visit one of your local beauty supply stores on occasion. While it is more common to find free beauty samples online, many beauty supply stores also offer free beauty samples to their customers or even those who just enter the store. Since not all retailers offer in store free samples, you should not count on receiving them, but if you happen to be in or around a local beauty supply store you may want to look to see if they have any free beauty samples available for taking.

Perhaps, the greatest benefit to requesting free beauty samples or taking one when you find them in store is that you never really know what you may end up with. Product manufacturers and retailers often offer free samples on their new products; therefore, it is likely something that you haven’t already tried before. In that case, you may be pleasantly surprised with the free beauty sample that you requested, whether it was perfume, makeup, or a skincare product. In fact, you may be so pleased with your recently acquired free sample that you decide to buy the full size product from then on out.

In addition to sending you a free product sample, it is common for a product manufacturer or a retailer to also include money saving coupons with your free sample. This is nice because should you like the product in question, you may want to buy the full sized product and your coupon may come in handy if and when you decide to do so.

I hope this has been helpful to you and would love your feedback on implementing this.

Talk to you soon!

Cheer,

Charlotte

Mind Assets

Sometimes the best asset you can give to yourself and and your business is to purchase books. Most books are very resourceful in any business no matter what the industry. I recently read three books by two authors.  They are Robert Kiyosaki and Jay-Z. I want to thank these two authors for their passion on providing business professionals and the community with insight. Thank You!

The first book I read was "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki. I know most of you have read it but read it again (I've read it three times now and I feel I need to read it one more time before I put it down). The book opened my eyes to many things like assets, liabilities and the myths about higher education. I wish I would have read Kiyosaki's book a decade ago. Most of the things he talks about in his book I've experienced and I always wondered "Why me?" Read what Kiyosaki’s rich dad and his poor dad taught him about money and being successful, as he was growing up. The book is a small investment you need in your business to become triumphant so go ahead and add the book to your personal library collection. This could be the first step in you “minding your own business.”

If you get "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" you need to also get part two entitled "Cashflow Quadrant" by Robert Kiyosaki. What quadrant are you currently in and what quadrant are you working towards? The book will answer this and many other questions. Find out how college dropouts or people with street smarts seem to be the most victorious. Find out why people who are successful would rather read about the headlines, instead of having the distraction of television, to find out what is going on in the world. The more you learn by listening and reading, the more victorious you become. Make this book a permanent collection in your personal library.

Speaking of street smarts, the last book I purchased was "Decoded" by Jay-Z. The book mainly tells about some of Jay-Z's lyrics and breaks them down for you. He also tells the history behind the lyrics. You wonder why he used the song from the hit musical Annie? Do you know the real reason why Jay-Z choose the streets to gain his education? It even has pictures in the book that I think he puts there for you, to take you back to the places he went and see what he saw in his mind. I already liked Jay-Z so I had no doubt that the book would enlighten me. He has always had the hustler mentality so when he wants something he will go for it, no matter who or what is in his way.  Find out how Jay-Z has worked and continues to work hard for his success. They say you should always have business-minded professionals in your circle, I know Jay-Z is flourishing so I wanted his book to be in my collection so I can be a part of his circle.

This is my insight for you and check back frequently to see what I'm reading.

Aspire, Women of Color Study Bible Giveaway!

Aspire, Women of Color Study Bible Giveaway!

One of the great gifts given by God to us is the Bible. The Bible is the word of God. Reading your Bible daily forms a life-long relationship with our creator.

There will be some that say, “I don’t have time to read”, or “I don’t understand what I’m reading”. Do me a favor and try something different. Follow along reading the Bible while listening to an audio version. It is amazing how quickly you can read the Bible, and how easily you understand what you are reading when you follow along as someone else reads.

Just try it. Go to YouVersion.com. The YouVersion.com website offers the Bible in many different versions and languages online and in audio absolutely free.

Select “Reader” under the “Bible” tab. Then choose a version you would like to read. If you find the King James Version too difficult to follow, I have found a version I know you will like. Select the Contemporary English Version. Then click on the browse button and select a book and chapter.

Now here is the cool part. To the right you will see the words “Audio Bible”. Find the audio version titled “English – Contemporary English Version (African American Speakers)”. Press play and read the Bible as the recorded voice on the audio reads to you.

Bible-Aspire.jpg
If your new year’s resolution was to read the Bible more, and you haven’t been able to keep your promise, then I hope the YouVersion.com Bible selections give you the boost you need.

NOW FOR THE GIVEAWAY. Visit the YouVersion.com website and leave me a comment on what you liked about the website in the comments section at our Inspirational Expressions Blog. I will select a name from the comments section and give away one Aspire, Women of Color Study Bible (NIV). Writing My Vision Changed My Life!

By now, most businesswomen have heard how important having a vision is, but surprisingly many have not written their vision.  This blog post is an appeal to all businesswomen who desire to accomplish their dreams and goals this year in 2011.

I started visioning approximately 15 years ago from a Bible study that I attended.  You see I learned that without a vision all of my hopes and desires could not be accomplished.  I had to take what was in my head, transfer it to paper and put it into action.  Of course, I procrastinated, wrote eloquent sounding statements that really didn't represent me and didn't really take the time to truly explore. It was when I decided to get real with myself that I realized I didn't have a solid vision of what I wanted.  So, instead of trying to visualize something far off I decided to create short-term visions that I wanted to experience in one year or less.

My first vision was that I wanted to experience paying off my debt.  I saw myself not having bills coming to my mail box and I saw myself smiling that I was able to get what I wanted and pay cash for it.  It became even more real as I started collecting anything that I could find on getting out of debt.

I told anybody and everybody that I was moving towards being debt free.  It was this action that caused a girlfriend to call and share with me information about a workshop in Los Angeles that was at her church called, "Millionaires In Training" given by George Thompson .

My husband and I committed to taking the class and the results were astounding.  In less than one year, we were able to pay off our debt and things started happening like you wouldn't believe.

It suddenly hit me that once I took my vision and made it plain and then put action to it that I was able to accomplish anything and I mean anything.  Since that time, I have made visioning a vital part of my life and what I have learned from it throughout the years is absolutely miraculous.  I learned that there are different levels of visioning and that once you truly embrace that you have a supernatural power to declare and accomplish anything the flood gates of opportunities start to open up to you.

So, it is my desire and hope that you read this post with an open heart and willingness to stop and take the time to write your vision.

Below are 5 Reasons Why You Must Write Your Vision:

  1. It glorifies God through you and acknowledges the power that resides within you to create
  2. Gives you clarity and self-esteem
  3. Liberates you and confirms that you are indeed a unique and wonderfuly made individual
  4. It's the beginning of manifesting your dreams and goals
  5. It opens up the gates of opportunities and draw all the people into your life that will help you to realize your vision.

You are great!

One of the most well known confidence building exercises is to list your own strengths and natural abilities.

By looking at the list it can make you say “Wow, I really am good!”

Another great way of building your confidence and getting in touch with how great you really are is to ask friends, colleagues and people who you know for feedback on your strengths and natural abilities.

Your practical assignment is to list 5 people who you know and trust for this exercise.

Make sure they are from different areas of your life.

List them below:

1.    A FAMILY MEMBER

2.    A FRIEND

3.    A WORK COLLEAGUE

4.    AN ASSOCIATE

5.    A SOCIAL CONTACT

You might at this stage be feeling a little nervous about asking these people for feedback.

Don’t worry, because you will be only asking for your strengths.

JUST GO FOR IT!

So, how do you go about it?

Well, below is a list of questions that I’d like you to ask to each of your list.

I recommend that you meet or talk on the phone with each beforehand and explain the context of the exercise and then either ask them verbally or give them the questions and either fill in the sheet of paper or email you with their feedback.

They will feel honored that you have asked them and the feedback that you will receive will truly make you feel fabulous and full of confidence.

Rightly or wrongly, we live in a society where other peoples’ opinions count to our self esteem and confidence.

By completing this exercise you will get some really good insight into some of your strengths.

Often you receive valuable information on the strengths that you didn’t even know you had!

EXTERNAL FEEDBACK QUESTIONS

•    What do you perceive to be my greatest strengths?

•    What do you like most about me?

•    What do you value most about me?

•    What three words sum up the positive points about me?

•    If you needed help with something, what would you call me to help you with?

After you have received all of the feedback it is now time to reflect on what has been written or said:

How do you feel about it?

Are there any surprises?

Do you feel confident about your abilities?

How can you use this information going forward?

How can you maximize your strengths?

If these people think you have these strengths, so do a lot of other people as well – how does that make you feel?

What are the key insights you have learned?

What will you do now that is different to what you have done before?

Have a great week!

Cheers,

Charlotte
