bigstock-Its-Raining-Money-7156297-300x200.jpg?width=300Aren't you always hearing "I wish I could attract more money into my life?" I think I've said it myself a few times...I've heard it a lot of times. Especially with that mega millions lottery in the U.S. a few short months ago! And we all heard a few stories coming out of that one, didn't we?

I've checked around and couldn't find anyone who answered 'no' to this question. The reason is - like it or not - much of what determines how much enjoyment we get out of our business or even life depends on the amount of money we have. Sure there are people out there who will tell you they don't want to be rich and that money is the root of all evil blah, blah but these are really misguided beliefs about money that have developed over time. (By the way, the scripture actually says "the LOVE of money is the root...", but we won't get into semantics for this article. Check it out.)

But seriously, who wouldn't want to be able to afford the things they want and need? You already have the ability; you just have so much poverty thinking and baggage in the way, you can't make room for prosperity in your life.

Much of what I share about branding and putting automation systems in place has to do with money - either making more of it or saving it. If you are in business, you need money to keep the business going; otherwise, it's a H-O-B-B-Y, or something else.

It's important to put aside any negative limiting beliefs others have dumped on you about money (did you cringe just now because you read that word again? if so, that's a sign of those ill-gotten beliefs kicking in).

If you are one of the few who had parents with a positive money mindset, consider yourself blessed. But if you are in the majority of people who had parents who believed in hard work, education and the idea that anyone who made money easily was simply lucky, lazy or immoral, then keep reading because you need this.

Money is, of itself, not bad and the amount of it you have is in essence a result of a few key beliefs some people engage in very well. (Trust me, it's taken me quite awhile to get this. I wasn't the fastest cookie in the jar on this at first, especially when I was newer to business).

Let me share just a few brief principles here...
Develop A Wealth Mindset

If your head is full of the conviction that rich people are greedy or power-hungry or must have done something illegal in order to gather the riches that they have, then you don’t have a wealth mindset. And if you don’t have a wealth mindset, then no amount of hard work you do will make up for your lack of money. Just like the poor dad in Robert Kiyosaki's 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad, you will ALWAYS be struggling.

Here's something about rich people that you may not know. Rich people are people who have a strong conviction that there is nothing wrong with being rich and that they deserve it. Not only that, people with a true wealth mindset actually believe that money can be a source for good. It supports families and provides them with food, clothing and shelter. It launches successful businesses that in turn support and replenish communities.
Change Your Motivation

Money can help us get whatever we want. However, there are lots and lots of motivations for being wealthy, some of them good, some of them not so much.

There are people who believe the world is full of abundance and money is instrumental in that cycle of abundance. So it is natural that they think being wealthy is a worthwhile goal. They see it as being within their reach. And for these people, it generally is easier to achieve, because their belief system is in complete alignment and harmony with their sub-conscious mind, which always wants to push us towards well-being. Isn't that cool how God did that? ... creating us to be well? do well? It's our own choices and actions that often take us down a different path.

Something I learned studying NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) for a year with a master practitioner was "mind and body are part of the same system and affect each other", so what you have been programmed to believe shows up in the way you act and make choices. But...you can change these beliefs. It's a choice you have to make though. Choose to live the way you are now, or prayerfully choose to change direction.

Unfortunately, having a positive mindset about wealth is not something adopted the majority of people. Most people go through life with a 'poverty mindset' and keep striving and striving to meet their immediate needs for fear that they will somehow not have enough.' So they do things like lowering their prices, sounding weak in their offers, giving away services they worked long & hard to invest in building.

Does this sound like anyone you know?

Well, to sum it up; if you desire wealth because you believe it's your ticket to achieving good things for yourself and for others, then it will be much easier for you to become wealthy. Your desire to free yourself from the slavery of having a day job, or working your business 24/7 so you can really live and spend more time with your family and be involved in your community is certainly a worthwhile goal. And you should remind yourself every day how worthwhile this goal is.

Sometimes a little structure and a plan can help...Saturday, 5/19/12 I'm holding a half-day virtual bootcamp called Reclaim My Money Power. If you are an entrepreneur sick of making weak offers, want step-by-step strategies to transform your mentality and you really want to design a wealth legacy for yourself and your family, come join me. You can find out more here:http://reclaimmymoneypower.com. No pressure - I really put this together for all my friends who have been asking. Consider and if it's right for you, I'll see you there.

It's so important that we provide resources, services & share in helping our tween girls develope into confident and successful young ladies..who will take over the world. Sharing The Miss Expo is a great beginning..

The Goal Of Miss Expo:

The Miss Expo was developed in order to prepare tween girls for the changes that take place during puberty. Those changes not only include physical development but also emotional and social changes as well. Some of the topics which will be included in these discussions are: growth and development, hygiene and menstruation. These topics need to be discussed with tween girls so they can feel secure in their understanding of the new feelings they are becoming aware of, peer relationships, social concerns and pressures and the changes their bodies are experiencing that will launch them into adolescence and young adulthood.

10744107872?profile=originalHave you ever heard or read something that made you want to get up and do something productive? Your mind starts racing thinking of all the ways you are going to accomplish your goals.

Not everyone has the nature of being an entrepreneur. It’s an uncertain world, and there are only so many things you can control. Choosing to embrace uncertainty and becoming comfortable with being challenged daily, seems completely irrational because the odds of succeeding are slim at best, but most succeed because of their unwavering belief, laser-like focus and persistence.

Always wanting to stay motivated and focused are key elements to being a great leader. Every great leader has quotes that have shaped their outlook and have gotten them through - challenge to challenge, and victory to victory.

However stressful failure can be, if you pick yourself up and get back on the horse, you’ve passed the real test.

You left your corporate job (or perhaps it left you) and you’re finally self-employed. You get to finally live your dreams of business ownership right. but do you have the right mindset? Are you still treating yourself like an employee of your own business? What are the 3 things you need to do to shift your mindset from thinking "paycheck to paycheck" to thinking like a real employer?

When I said "that's IT" from my last corporate layoff (yes I had 2) I was ready to embrace self-employment head-on. I had clients almost immediately and had replaced my corporate salary and then some. BUT

I was overwhelmed, I didn't know know to set boundaries with my clients, I felt like I had to "earn" every penny they paid me. I was  "crackberry" addict (my Blackberry stayed on 24/7 literally. I spend 40+ hours on client work with little time to actually build my business. Despite the fact I had 15 years+ experience and a solid background in operations and systems. I was still struggling and overwhelmed. Even though I was my own boss, I was treating my business and my value like I was still an employee.

Listen to this latest podcast for the 3 things I learned about myself and my business that literally changed the course of my business.

I Quit!

Yup! I quit Garrison Prosperity Solutions, Busy925.com, EVERYTHING! Ok. No not really but I have felt this way before. Haven't you? Maybe on your job, in your life or in business. You get that feeling of frustration, worthlessness or failure and just want to quit. Give up. Move on to something else or maybe even nothing at all. You get tired of kissing your boss' butt, of the incoming bills, mortgage payments or even trying to find customers and attract people to your company. It all just gets to be too much sometimes. I completely understand this feeling BUT the people that get through it are the ones that become inspiring success stories. I was even more reminded of this today from my Pastor who just so happens to also be my Father-in-Love.

In being the first Sunday of 2013, he preached on the subject of having a Fresh S.T.A.R.T.:

S- Stop making excuses - Excuses of being overwhelmed, sick, tired, having no money, working too much, working too hard, feeling like what you're doing is not enough or not generating results you want or expected, not knowing where to begin or how to move on. Stop the excuses.

T- Take inventory of your life - (This is my explanation) Create three lists:

  1. What in your life, job, business is working?
  2. What in your life, job, business is NOT working?
  3. What would you like to do differently or add to your life, job, or business?

After doing so, take the "NOT working list" and THROW IT AWAY! STOP DOING THE THINGS THAT ARE NOT PRODUCING THE RESULTS YOU WANT. Especially if you've been doing them for a while and they STILL aren't WORKING.

A- Act in faith - Take the "WORKING" and "TO DO DIFFERENTLY" list and start working on them. Keep doing the things that are working well for you. But for the things that you want to do differently, step out in faith and do them. Praying that the end result will be successful. Even if it is not, praying all will be done as it should be.

R- Re-focus your thoughts - Even though it is not the first of the year anymore, you can still make resolutions, or revamp your resolutions. Gather yourself and get back on track. FOCUS!

T- Trust God - PERIOD. He will make sure everything will go as it should.

Psalm 118:8 “It is better  to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.”

Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the  LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”

So sure, have your frustration, feelings of worthlessness and failure but don't quit and don't give up. Commit to a Fresh S.T.A.R.T., it will all be worth it!

Breaking, but not Broken

I found the above photo a few days ago on Facebook and it reminded me of something I recently wrote and would like to now share with you...

Do you remember the previous issue of SistaSense Magazine? Creating the first six issues was truly a personal accomplishment for me, but when the New Year hit production unfortunately stopped. Publishing a complete magazine with a team of one is challenging. But when the task became overwhelming rather than break under the pressure, I decided to simply take a break. I find the word “break” to be one of the most interesting words in the English language. As you and I strive to fulfill our purpose in life, how we each choose to interpret this word can literally make or break us.

On one hand the act of breaking can lead to sadness and destruction. No one wants to be broke or feel broken. No one wants to have to break apart their business or feel weighed down by broken dreams. For obvious reasons, no one wants to break the things they love. However, sometimes the act of breaking is essential. Sometimes we need to break ties with people who hold us back. Sometimes we need a break; an opportunity to arise from somewhere or somebody willing to help us get to the next level. And sometimes we just need a break to relax and plan our next move.

As a mompreneur sometimes I need (continue reading)

My favorite color is red, so you know I just about fell out of my seat when I got a look at the new Swatch Chrono Red collection. While I'm not a jewelry fanatic, I must have a few essentials - hoop earrings that pop, big attention getter rings and of course a stylish watch to match!

Beyond telling you I love the look of these new watches, I'm not so great with all the specifics (lol), so I thought I would share a few details from the website:

Swiss watch and jewellery maker Swatch unveils two new watches in its signature collection of Swiss made precision Irony chronographs. The Chrono Collection presents a pair of Irony Chronos featuring the popular model's classic good looks and timeless style.

Polished stainless steel gives the polished 40mm case, brushed bezel and brushed bracelet a distinguished and self-assured look and feel, while sun-brushed black or red dials present a fashion-wise contrast, with the tone-on-tone counters adding just the right touch of cool, understated elegance to the design. Smart, poised and stylish-the Chrono Collection says it all.

For my fellow moms out there trying to stay in style, do take a look at this new collection and let me know what you think.

Get Your MBA for FREE!!!

In this tough, tough economy that really isn’t getting much better despite what the media continues to report,( if you still even bother to listen) there is actually hope!  Thousands of individuals, both employed and unemployed are flocking back to school in efforts of getting ahead, all the while steadily increasing the debt load!  There are many more who are attempting to go back to school, but because they already have one advanced degree under their belt and terrible credit due to the economic crisis of today, they quickly find that they cannot afford to pay for school the second, third or fourth time around!

But there is another option, another alternative and for many (who may not even realize it) this option is more favorable and for some, the only option!    While the typical MBA, Masters in Business Administration, comes with no guarantees and costs THOUSANDS to obtain in both dollars and hours, there is an MBA alternative that costs NOTHING and guarantees the world.

The non- traditional and highly affordable and effective MBA that I am referring to is a degree in Motivation Belief Ambition & Action.  I obtained both MBA’s!  And I must say that the latter has had the greater return on my investment.  My Masters in Business Administration simply taught me how to think while my degree in Motivation Belief Ambition and Action taught me how to apply my thoughts and make money in the process!  I am proud to have obtained both and wouldn’t change it for the world, but I always remind people that EDUCATION = EDUCATION.  Education DOES NOT = INCOME.  Many get this fact twisted.  You can spend a fortune on degrees and certifications but if you lack in motivation, BELIEF, ambition and action don’t be surprised if your debt continues to increase and your income continues to decline!  What a disconnect.  Get your MBAA and have a sense of urgency about it!  It will be the best zero cost investment that you’ve ever made by far…….with a 100% guarantee!

How to create a media list on a small budget

IntroductionMedia lists are an invaluable tool when promoting yourself or your business. It helps to have a database of the different media outlets that relate to your industry of choice. Creating a media list can be a tedious process but when done correctly can be useful for years to come. Once it is created, it will only need updating which is much less work.Step 1Start with publications that you know. You should be aware of the different publications that target your industry. Make a list of those publications.Step 2Go to the public library. Many of the larger public libraries have current media directories in their reference section. Set aside a few hours to go through the directories and write down all of the publications that will fit your media list. Use the ones on the list you initially made as a reference point. Make a note of deadlines for each publication. Look for websites and employee lists to help you make your list as specific as possibleStep 3Verify the media list that you’ve created. Contact each of the publications on the media list to get the correct name and email address for the reporter you should contact. You want to find out who covers the beat the most closely relates to your specific needs.Step 4Keep your list updated. Now that you’ve created a list, make sure to keep it updated and current. A current media list will be helpful when you need to incorporate the media into your marketing and public relations plans.www.cluelessfashionista.comFashion clues for the everyday fashionista

How to Gain Self Confidence

Sometimes our self-confidence is shaken when we make decisions that are not supported by family, friends or people we respect.  When we feel that we are by ourselves regarding our choices, it is important to apply the universal law of cause and effect. Acknowledging others rights to their opinions opens the way for us to receive the same treatment. The adage shows itself over and over, what you do unto others will be done unto you.

Remember you can create the life you want to live by your actions. Being gentle and loving yourself is the way to bring that behavior into your life from others. Although it may not feel apparent, life supports you. The universal order of life does support you. This may sound airy-fairy, but it is a real and important principle to believe in when feeling challenged. Understanding that everyone has a right to live and think as he or she chooses removes the emotional conviction that others opinions are personal attacks. Each adult is their life decision maker, and one’s opinion does not overthrow anyone else’s choice.

Your ability to hold this idea and conduct yourself on this principle will govern others manners when engaging or having a relationship with you.

Valuing yourself is a requirement for a successful life. Lacking self-worth is mirrored back to us through our personal and work relationships.  The characteristics of caring and respecting yourself are reflected in how you address other people’s degrading and dismissive attitudes. Life already supports you; you are here. The statement, "you are an accident", is only an attempt to devalue your existence. It is your primary responsibility to embrace and love yourself.

Sometimes we allow the opinions of others to reign over our internal voice. That is a sign that we need to stop and remember what is important to us. Getting clear about the way you choose to live your life and what you value gives you the strength to make seemingly hard choices. You regret less when your actions are decided from how you choose to be in this world. Living this way opens you to new ideas and activates your potential.

Aiming for a successful life based on your values can sometimes feel like a struggle but the end results are worth it. Gaining self-confidence is the practice of making and moving forward with your decisions that are founded on what is important to you. Every opportunity you have to apply this principle will help you become self-confident authentically.
