beliefs (6)

bigstock-Its-Raining-Money-7156297-300x200.jpg?width=300Aren't you always hearing "I wish I could attract more money into my life?" I think I've said it myself a few times...I've heard it a lot of times. Especially with that mega millions lottery in the U.S. a few short months ago! And we all heard a few stories coming out of that one, didn't we?

I've checked around and couldn't find anyone who answered 'no' to this question. The reason is - like it or not - much of what determines how much enjoyment we get out of our business or even life depends on the amount of money we have. Sure there are people out there who will tell you they don't want to be rich and that money is the root of all evil blah, blah but these are really misguided beliefs about money that have developed over time. (By the way, the scripture actually says "the LOVE of money is the root...", but we won't get into semantics for this article. Check it out.)

But seriously, who wouldn't want to be able to afford the things they want and need? You already have the ability; you just have so much poverty thinking and baggage in the way, you can't make room for prosperity in your life.

Much of what I share about branding and putting automation systems in place has to do with money - either making more of it or saving it. If you are in business, you need money to keep the business going; otherwise, it's a H-O-B-B-Y, or something else.

It's important to put aside any negative limiting beliefs others have dumped on you about money (did you cringe just now because you read that word again? if so, that's a sign of those ill-gotten beliefs kicking in).

If you are one of the few who had parents with a positive money mindset, consider yourself blessed. But if you are in the majority of people who had parents who believed in hard work, education and the idea that anyone who made money easily was simply lucky, lazy or immoral, then keep reading because you need this.

Money is, of itself, not bad and the amount of it you have is in essence a result of a few key beliefs some people engage in very well. (Trust me, it's taken me quite awhile to get this. I wasn't the fastest cookie in the jar on this at first, especially when I was newer to business).

Let me share just a few brief principles here...
Develop A Wealth Mindset

If your head is full of the conviction that rich people are greedy or power-hungry or must have done something illegal in order to gather the riches that they have, then you don’t have a wealth mindset. And if you don’t have a wealth mindset, then no amount of hard work you do will make up for your lack of money. Just like the poor dad in Robert Kiyosaki's 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad, you will ALWAYS be struggling.

Here's something about rich people that you may not know. Rich people are people who have a strong conviction that there is nothing wrong with being rich and that they deserve it. Not only that, people with a true wealth mindset actually believe that money can be a source for good. It supports families and provides them with food, clothing and shelter. It launches successful businesses that in turn support and replenish communities.
Change Your Motivation

Money can help us get whatever we want. However, there are lots and lots of motivations for being wealthy, some of them good, some of them not so much.

There are people who believe the world is full of abundance and money is instrumental in that cycle of abundance. So it is natural that they think being wealthy is a worthwhile goal. They see it as being within their reach. And for these people, it generally is easier to achieve, because their belief system is in complete alignment and harmony with their sub-conscious mind, which always wants to push us towards well-being. Isn't that cool how God did that? ... creating us to be well? do well? It's our own choices and actions that often take us down a different path.

Something I learned studying NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) for a year with a master practitioner was "mind and body are part of the same system and affect each other", so what you have been programmed to believe shows up in the way you act and make choices. But...you can change these beliefs. It's a choice you have to make though. Choose to live the way you are now, or prayerfully choose to change direction.

Unfortunately, having a positive mindset about wealth is not something adopted the majority of people. Most people go through life with a 'poverty mindset' and keep striving and striving to meet their immediate needs for fear that they will somehow not have enough.' So they do things like lowering their prices, sounding weak in their offers, giving away services they worked long & hard to invest in building.

Does this sound like anyone you know?

Well, to sum it up; if you desire wealth because you believe it's your ticket to achieving good things for yourself and for others, then it will be much easier for you to become wealthy. Your desire to free yourself from the slavery of having a day job, or working your business 24/7 so you can really live and spend more time with your family and be involved in your community is certainly a worthwhile goal. And you should remind yourself every day how worthwhile this goal is.

Sometimes a little structure and a plan can help...Saturday, 5/19/12 I'm holding a half-day virtual bootcamp called Reclaim My Money Power. If you are an entrepreneur sick of making weak offers, want step-by-step strategies to transform your mentality and you really want to design a wealth legacy for yourself and your family, come join me. How to identify and overcome negative or limiting beliefs?

In my interaction with women I find that many are struggling with limiting and/or negative beliefs. And there are some who are in denial and feel that they don’t have any limiting beliefs. Entertaining limiting beliefs will only sabotage your empowering success and I am out to help you finally be free of the control of
limiting belief. My passion is empowering women and this is one area that blocks many from realizing their desires.

Read what one of my clients stated about identifying a limiting belief……

Pay attention to part B of her testimonial

One of my success statements was related to me exercising on a regular basis. While I am not grossly overweight, I was carrying more weight than my small frame could handle. I knew this because my knees started to hurt constantly. After emailing Robin my success statements, I committed to it. In addition to exercising I actually went a step further and did some clean up in my diet. I can report today that I have lost 5 pounds to date. I feel better and my knees don’t hurt nearly as much.

I also sent in my limiting belief. At first I did not feel as if I had one but through prayer I found that I did. And it was a big one! I have proceeded with my action steps and praise God, He has confirmed what I needed confirmation of. I’m still doing both action steps and I know these will keep me moving forward toward success. I would never have identified this had Robin not challenged us with this. Thank you Robin!”

One of the first steps to identifying your limiting or negative beliefs is awareness.

You have belief systems that were formed early on in your life. Think about some of the things that come up for you when embarking on a new journey or undertaking a new task.

Do you start off with a bang only to be tripped up by negative chatter or negative/limiting beliefs?

Overcoming your limiting beliefs entails becoming aware, identifying the belief and reprogramming. And please know this…. it didn’t happen overnight so the reprogramming is not going to happen overnight. It’s a process.

What are your beliefs?

What are your thoughts about money?

What keeps you up at night?

Do you struggle with limiting beliefs?

Are you influenced by the thoughts of others about who you are and find that when you start trying to play a bigger game as a womanentrepreneur or make endeavors towards women’s empowerment you shrinkdown to make them feel comfortable?

Maybe you’re experiencing overwhelm and that your life is out of control leaving no time for the things that matter most. Or you workhard to have clients and customers but it seems that it’s not working.

Could you be in your own way and don’t even know it?

Take inventory of how you may be getting in your own way.
How do you do this? One thing that is very important to any endeavor
towards women’s empowerment, personal development etc. is to begin with you.

Take inventory of where you are. Assessments are key in this process.
One is a self discovery assessment. You discover more about yourself and
may uncover self sabotaging behaviors that you weren’t aware of. It is nota negative process, however, it helps you to also discover theuniqueness of you. Doing this assists you in developing a plan for bestpractices to achieve what it is you desire. It also assists inuncovering the blocks.

2. Acknowledge the truth.
You may have already arrived at the a fore-mentioned , however, maybe your challenge is that you are indenial. You cannot correct or change what you don’t acknowledge. Youcannot change what you tolerate.

3. Move past the pain of your past. One area that I’m passionate about is helping women to get unstuck. How long have you been feelinglike you have? How long have you followed the same system with noresults? How long have you been struggling to become confident? Thepain of your past will imprison you.

You wonder why you tend to reach an impasse when trying to reach your goals. There are many reasons for this, however, one is movingpast the pain of your past. Of course there are issues that need to beaddressed and you seek closure, however, do not pitch a tent there.Work through it and move on. In this area it is also critical that youdon’t take on the victim mentality. Everything that comes out of yourmouth is how they did you. You don’t understand. I can’t do thisbecause I’m still hurt because. If you’re going to realize trueprosperity “Spirit, Soul and Body” you’ve got to move on!!!

I’ll go over this in the upcoming Empowerment Gathering live here in Sacramento, CA.

I’ve given you three things you need to do to start the process of getting out of your own way.

Q: What is your most pressing question where it concerns your

personal, spiritual and business empowerment?

A: Transitioning from my old self, with those limiting beliefs, to who I truly am.

The first place you want to begin is what I call awareness. In this step
you need to take inventory of your limiting beliefs. You can identify them
without placing them in categories and after you've identified some of them
you can then categorize them in the money, education, career, faith and
other category. Don't get too caught up on this simply jot down what comes
to mind.

Why do you have those limiting beliefs?

What steps can you add that will assist you in overcoming your limiting
beliefs?

Another key factor is your mindset. I won't go deep into this, however,
a lot of our success is sabotaged by our mindset and you would do good
to discover what your mindset is and make the necessary shifts.

You can do this on your own or enlist the help of a coach such as myself
who are equipped with various tools and experience to support you in
this endeavor.

In order to know where you're going you must know where you are.
This is also true where it concerns evolving to who you truly are.
Make sure you are clear on who you are. What are your core values?
What is your purpose? Vision?

All of the above will support your endeavor towards transitioning from
your old self to who you truly are.

The steps mentioned above are supported by my Dream Launch
eCoaching program.

Insight into Failure - Could This Be You?

In the past, I have joined many MLMs and have failed! Yes! I failed! I spent more money than I made and more time than I should have by staying when clearly I was not ready for the business opportunity. What I realized only recently, after joining an awesome MLM organization, is that I did not fail because the business opportunities were not good. The products were really great, and I loved them and believed in the company. The reason I failed at MLM was I was not ready for the business opportunity! What I mean by this statement is this:* I did not believe in myself* I did not believe in my own ability to succeed* I had low self-esteemI had all kinds of fears:* Fear of failure* Fear of rejection* Fear of not succeeding* Fear of making mistakesThese kinds of thoughts or mindsets will sabotage any great opportunity that presents itself to you. I have come to learn over the years that you have to be ready before opportunity knocks. If you are not prepared, and you go into a business opportunity or even a job opportunity, you will fail, become negative, frustrated, and you will eventually give up and quit.Success and financial freedom does not just happen. You have to prepare for it so that when it comes you will be able to not only handle it, but you will be able to maintain what you have obtained while you reach for new levels of success and opportunities.Toxic core beliefs (mindsets/thought patterns) need to be identified and detoxed from your thinking. If you do not, they will pollute and corrupt every thing you attempt to do. Your toxic thoughts or core beliefs will cause you to sabotage your own efforts to succeed and experience financial freedom. This will eventually cause you to experience a cycle of failures that can go on for a lifetime, if not dealt with.It does not matter how much positive affirmations or faith confessions you make if your core beliefs are rooted in negativity and unbelief. You will always move in the direction of what you truly believe. Have you ever heard the saying, “People say one thing and do another?” What you actually do or do not do is all predicated on what you really believe about money, business, success, people, the world, etc.The best way that I know of to identify or discover what you really believe (your core beliefs) is to become aware of what you are saying to yourself. The best time to do this is when you are under pressure or you are experiencing adversity in your life. What do you say to yourself when you make a mistake? How do you feel when someone says no to your opportunity? Do you call yourself negative names or put yourself down?Keep a journal to document your answers. When a difficult or challenging situation arises in your life, how do you respond? In your journal document the following: (1) What was the situation/circumstance (your trigger). 2) Write your response. 3) How could you have handled it differently? 4) Change the negative core belief to an empowering one. Confess or speak them over yourself daily, especially early in the morning and just before going to bed. Look at yourself in the mirror and tell it to yourself until you believe it. This is a way to renew or reprogram your subconscious mind.Great opportunities happen when preparation and opportunity meet! Decide what it is you want and what it take to get it. Then be willing to prepare and do whatever it takes! Remember this: failure is not fatal nor is it final; giving up on your dreams and goals is!Author: Yvonne Carson, M.Div., MA, MFT is the author of several e-books: The Courage to Change: Healing from Emotional Wounds that Bind You (An Interactive Workbook for Healing and Restoration); Wisdom and Life Lessons from the True Vine; Whatever You Seed You Will Receive: 50 Power-Packed Personalized Faith Confessions.
