She Was the Young Lady Nobody Really Loved

Ebony has been condemned and rejected by her parents and peers all of her life. Like many other black girls who grew up weary to face life, she struggles with the adversities of being impoverished and accepted for who she is. After being mentally, emotionally and sexually abused, Ebony still struggles to fight her way to the top, never fully realizing what her worth is until she finds love and acceptance from one of the faculty members at her school. From that point on, things began to blossom for her until she meets a smooth operator named, Desmond Waltz.

Desmond is a world renowned entertainer who takes a sudden romantic interest in Ebony. His hidden sadistic and sexually devious desires for her erupt into rage, abuse, and imprisonment. Not only is Ebony's world turned upside down, but she has to deal with Desmond's desire to see her suffer under his thumb, but she is also subjected to his domineering mother, who hates her and abuses her every time she gets, leaving Ebony beaten and bloody and begging for the pain to stop.

Will Ebony be able to break the perpetual cycle of abuse, self-hatred, and anguish? To what end is Ebony willing to go to finally be happy? What happens next in this riveting novel has twists and turns that will have your jaw dropping.

For most of you who can relate to being domestic and spiritually abused, I'm more than sure you can relate to Ebony Starks. "Ebony the Beloved" is available here: Kindle for $0.99. It is also available in paperback on Amazon for $13.99.

DEATH TO CHILD ABUSE, PEDOPHILIA, AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE!!

Are YOU Doing Enough For YOUR Community?

Are you a resident (or know someone who is) of the Southeast Raleigh, NC area? Are you interested in getting paid for doing a survey?

Voices into Action: The Families, Food, and Health Project, a study out of North Carolina State University and North Carolina A&T University, will be conducting surveys in the SE Raleigh, NC area. Caretakers of two to eight year olds will participate in a five year survey to see how residents purchase, prepare and consume food.

  • Participants will agree to have:
      2 in-home visits
      2 phone contacts
Keep a log of how their family spends their day

The Projectwants to thank you for your time in getting this survey completed. YOU are a valuable part of the community and to show their appreciation, the first, third and fifth year, of the survey; you will receive $100 in your desired form of payment. If you involve yourself in the second and fourth year of the survey, there could be more ways to earn extra incentives.

If interested in being a part of the survey, please contact Tremika Middleton @ 919-928-2263 and make sure you understand the benefits as well as what the group expects the citizens to participate in during the survey period.

This is my insight for you and make sure you do ALL you can for YOUR community.

Let Your Light Shine

With the advent of the London 2012 Olympics and the illuminating flame-lighting ceremony on Friday July 27,  2012, I thought this title would be fitting. Today one of my fellow industry divas,  Nicole S. Cooper Facebook-ed,"I believe that we all have greatness on the inside of us, but I don't believe in allowing excuses to be the deterrent for why we never allowed our lights to shine!"

She wrote this in response to a client who thanked her for pushing them to move forward in their business. Her response was so key. EVERYONE has the ability to accomplish their goals and essentially create a better quality of life for themselves. But lets face it, ultimately the only reason why you are not where you want to be is because of excuses (especially in business)... just isn't the right time, I don't have the time, not enough money to get started, don't know anything about the industry, I don't like or know how to sell, my teeth hurt today, blah blah blah. ALL excuses.

BUT just as Nicole said, stop allowing excuses to keep you from letting your light shine! Stop allowing excuses to keep you from fulfilling your dreams. Stop allowing excuses keep you from recognizing someone special in your life. Stop allowing excuses to rule your life! At some point you have to take control of your life and begin to fulfill the dreams and goals you have for yourself.

I lost a very dear friend last week, he was only 34 and it got me thinking. We NEVER know when our last day on earth will be. When the last time to speak to a loved one will be. When the last time to do something you've ALWAYS wanted to do will be. So you cannot continue to allow life to pass you by with all of these excuses. You have to find "your light" and start letting it shine. Start working towards the goals you have for yourself. Unfortunately, some of your goals may require more income. And there are so many opportunities available to give you the financial independence to achieve the things you want to. One of my favorite sayings is, "If you will DO for a season, what most won't, you'll be able to live the rest of your life the way most CAN'T. It's not a matter of whether you can or can't its a matter of whether you WILL or WONT." Find a business opportunity that  you are comfortable with, find someone you are comfortable working with and start accomplishing your goals. Start to Let your Light Shine!

Follow Your Bread Crumbs

How sensitive are you to the subtle signs of re-direction? Do you take for granted hidden messages that are often right in front of you? Are you the type of person who needs solid proof in order to make a decision? These are important questions that may reveal if you are ready to take the walk of faith.

We are led every day to new people, and new experiences.  Our daily path is filled with connections - some visible, some invisible - but nevertheless they are evident and they help get us to our destination. We need only to be willing to follow the subtlety of clues whenever they surface. More importantly we need to be willing to open our heart and listen to the still small voice when it directs us to go this way or that way.

How do you follow your bread crumbs? The first thing you need to do is:

(1) Make a decision - define what you want to do? Do you want to get a new job, start a bowling league, go back to school or make a career change? Whatever it is, you must first define it.  This clarifies your starting point. You cannot run in the race until you line up at the starter's block .

(2) Now that you've made the decision - just be open and willing and have an open heart. Don't discount anything. This is the stage where people have a tendency to talk themselves out of their options. When a choice is presented to you, don't say I can't; I don't have time; I can't afford it. These are the words that neutralize our options.  It's important to filter your emotions - and clear your heart and mind with all of the negative internal chatter so that you can see and hear your choices.

(3) Ok, you've made a decision about what you want to do, now is the time to pray/meditate/journal - do whatever you need to do to touch heaven. Dedicate your decision to God. Scripture says in Ps 37:5 - commit your way to the Lord; trusting in Him and expecting Him to bring it to pass.  It's that simple. It's not complicated as we make it.

(4) Once you've prayed - now walk it out with your eyes open to new discoveries.  Don't be afraid of what's ahead.  And don't have pre-conceived ideas about how your choices will manifest.  For instance, you want a new job - but when one opens up - you second guess yourself because it doesn't fit your profile.  You then choose to stay where you are because you are comfortable.  And you never know the new job could stretch you, could open other doors or even give you an opportunity to use your knowledge in a way where you become a valuable source to your present environment. Commit to doing the next one thing that catches your attention or which pulls on your heart. Usually these are clues.

Don't over-think the subtle ways in which life uncovers itself to you. Life is simple, just follow your bread crumbs.

Thanks BBWO Community

Almost two months ago I wanted to start profiling (in a good way, lol) other freelancers/ self-employed/small business owners like myself on my blog, ArtiatesiaDeal.com. I reach out to a few people and there was some interest in the beginning but then it died off. It wasn't until I posted about it on here the MYBBWO Network site that not only did the original five spots were filled but I had to start a waiting list.

You ladies and gents show up and showed out. I have profiles that been confirmed all the way up to the end of August. Each profile is published every other week (since June 1st) and the first wave has already received over 100 views. One of which has already broken 200 views mark. Besides the blog posts, the feature goes out to my Facebook Page and I've been tweeting them out (to over 1000 followers) on a regular basis.

So I just wanted to take a moment to thank you all who reply to my call of submissions. I am truly thankful. I know that there are a few of you that I still need to reply back to and I will. When you have a moment, please check out the Savvy Professional Profiles Series.

Much love and success.

Welcome to the dog days of summer. On the east coast of the U.S. it’s been a sizzlingly hot summer with heat wave after heat wave keeping people indoors to escape the 90 degrees plus temperatures. But writers must write everyday despite the distractions of the oppressive heat, kids coming in and out of the house, and vacation travel.

I’m a writer, so I can tell you first hand that it can be challenging to stick to a daily writing schedule when everyone around me is in fun, vaction mode. I realized that if I’m going through these challenges, there must be other writers out there who are finding it hard to keep their butt in their chairs and write during summer break. To help both of us out, I’ve come up with a list of seven creative tips that you can try to see if they help you boost your writing production this summer:

1. Connect some fun rewards to your daily word count goals. It’s like a drinking game, but instead of doing shots you’ll be. . .Read the rest of the article
