Harmonic Relationships: The Ultimate Gift

Harmonic Relationships

By Herbert Harris

The Ultimate Gift

The basic principle of the universe is that of order. When order is extended over a time period, it becomes harmony. This universal harmony is like a great symphony in which all notes, vibrations, and sounds are being played at the same time, for all time.

Each entity, each person, each life form is a note, a vibration in that great universal sound. When your life is in order, your goals are attained and your visions are realized. Your purpose is fulfilled, and you are in a complete harmonic relationship with the universe.

The note and vibration that is your life is in perfect harmony with your destiny. When this perfect harmony is achieved, you become one with the universe, and, upon your transition, leave your physical body at the proper level of consciousness to ascend to the next level of your universal evolution.

When your life is out of order, your goals are not being attained, nor is your vision realized. You are not in a complete harmonic relationship with the universe.

How do you know that your life is out of order?

You feel it. You are not happy. You are not clear about where you are going. You fear the future, and suffer anxiety, stress and a host of other unpleasant feelings.

How do you get your life in order?

You study the universal principles of the universe, and then align yourself with these principles. The extent to which you align yourself with these universal principles determines the extent to which your harmonic relationship with the universe can move toward completion.

The way that you align yourself with the principles is to study, implement and master them. The better you get, the more complete your harmonic relationship with the universe. Once you are on the path, there is an endless cycle of growth, illumination and elevation to the next level to be mastered.

Our book, The Twelve Universal Laws of Success, lays out the laws of success and demonstrates their universal application.

These principles will aid and assist you as you move toward the completion of your own harmonic relationship with the universe and the realization of your destiny.

Seven Basic Harmonic Relationships.

1. The first harmonic relationship, Self with Source, is the relationship between you and God—the Universal Intelligence, Consciousness, Force, and Source that is common to all religions and cultures.

2. The second harmonic relationship, Self with Self, is the relationship between you and yourself. How you feel about yourself

3. The third harmonic relationship, Self with Others, is the relationship between you and other people.

4. The fourth harmonic relationship, Self with Energy, is the relationship between you and your powers.

5. The fifth harmonic relationship, Self with Objectives, is the relationship between you and your goals and vision.

6. The sixth harmonic relationship, Self with Results, is the relationship between you and that which you achieve.

7. The seventh harmonic relationship, Self with Purpose, is the relationship between you and your life purpose – your destiny.

If there is one thing that is certain in life it's.....

We all know this saying and it's true. Some of us have unfiled tax returns and may think that they are safe if three years has past and the IRS hasn't knocked on their door. This actually may not be true! Fortunately one of my favorite websites for knowledgeable legal tax advice comes from Taxgirl.com (love her site!)

Below are three very important tips every person should know regarding your tax return.:
1. There is a statute of Limitation (SOL) of 3 years for assessment of taxes expires 3 years from the due date of the return OR the date you filed.
2. If you fail to file, guess what? The SOL never kicks in so it's totally still up for grabs!
3.With respect to collections, the IRS generally has ten (10) years after the date of the assessment of tax or levy to collect.

The best advice is if you haven't filed your return it's best to get with a professional to help you navigate through the process. Also you have 3 years to have your taxes amended if you believe it was an error. Don't assume the 3 years SOL is as simple as it seems. Luckily my firm and partners are offering free tax review services for tax years 2007, 2008, and 2009 and so far have discovered several errors, missed deductions and more.

This is actually related to tax but with tax season underway and with our current FREE TAX REVIEW SERVICES I feltthis was fitting to post. It is 3 years BUT if youNEVER filed the SOL never starts (so the ...3 year rule may not apply)One of our FAV blog sites for excellent tax information comes from Taxgirl . Check it out

Everyone is an expert at something - whether you know how to marketthat knowledge or not is the key to creating an expert personal brand.
Wikipedia describes an expert as "a person with extensive knowledge or
ability based on research, experience, or occupation and in a particular
area of study". I have invested in a number of programs, courses,
books, and live presentations over the last several years. All of this
because I believed the facilitator to be an "expert" who could share
information with me that I did not already know.
How is it that some people become recognized as the expert and others,
who may have more information and knowledge about the same topic, do
not?
Three things in general distinguish people who get to wear the expert label:
They are clear on what they believe. Experts tend to rise to this title
because they have taken a stance or a position on something within an
area of study. For example, Dr. Wayne Dyer is a well-known expert in the
field of self development. Dyer has certain principles he believes. It
is clear that part of his message is that each of us is accountable to
our own success and growth. Carole Martin, the Interview Coach, is an
expert in her area. She has developed clear steps to preparing for an
interview.
They tell other people what they believe. People who are recognized as
experts do not keep their beliefs to themselves. Instead, they
communicate a message in some type of written, visual, or auditory form
so that others know their principles. It is one thing to have a thought -
it's another level when you share the thought with someone else. And
the wider your net, the higher and faster you rise to the top as an
expert brand. Dyer and Martin could simply have their beliefs about
steps to take and principles to apply, but until these were shared as
messages to others, no one would have recognized them as a possible
resource.
They are consistent in telling other people what they believe. Having
an expert brand means you are consistent with the beliefs you share with
others. If you say one thing today and have a completely opposite
message next week, it will take away from the credibility of your
personal brand. Consider this example - John Maxwell is seen as an
expert in applying leadership strategies based in Christian principles.
If next month, he came out with a book about loving life as an atheist,
Maxwell's credibility as an expert may drop considerably.

How to Find a Mentor

iStock_000009172087XSmall-150x150.jpgI replied to a question this week on LinkedIn and thought I’d share my thoughts with you on the topic of mentoring. Here is a short excerpt from the comment and subsequent question submitted:

“I don’t know how to navigate the professional world. It is like I am an outsider looking in. As an African American woman, I don’t have any willing connections in my family. I am actively networking, taking classes to gain new skills, writing blogs, and interning; this way I can groom myself into the professional I want to be…”

My answer went like this:

Thank you for your note & for expressing your challenges so honestly. I will share that I have been mentored and I have mentored. In most cases where I was on the receiving end, I actively pursued the
relationship. There have been both good AND bad experiences on either
side – I chose to learn from both.

One of the conversations that came out of the recent Women of Color Career Success telesummit I hosted focused on the topic of mentoring and where to find them. There were 3 strategies highlighted from the panel:

  1. Pursue mentoring relationships with people who already at a level for which you are aspiring – seeking a combination of mentors with similar backgrounds as you AND those who can share a completely
    different perspective;
  2. Peer-to-peer mentoring – reach out to positive, motivated colleagues and others within your field for idea/resource sharing; and
  3. “remote” mentoring – seek out books, presentations, and media that may have messages you can apply to your own situation for growth. If something really appeals to you, consider contacting the author, etc to
let them know how their ideas have helped you – social media really
opens possibilities here. You never know until you try.

“Mentoring” was very loosely defined in each case but the ultimate message was that you can learn from just about anyone’s experiences.

Lastly I will add these tips:

* Don’t be intimidated to ask anyone you have identified as a possible mentor for you. The worst they can do is say no. * You should not expect
someone else to invest in you what you don’t invest in yourself and
others. Definitely look at ways you can mentor and give back. * And if
you happen to run into that not-so-great experience, you can learn
lessons from that too. It just may be “what not to do”.

I hope others will chime in and offer their advice and perspectives on your questions.

Best success to you, Tanya

Meeting Queen Afua & lessons on vending

Recently I had the honor of meeeting the lovely and powerful Queen Afua.

For those who may not know who she is, she is the author of such books as "The sacred woman", "Heal Thyself" and "Overcoming an angry vagina."

The event was for a grand opening for The Afrikan Woman Institute of Atlanta.

I received some powerful messages and

I saw some things that I did not expect to see at the venue.

Some danced and some cried.

I danced.

SoulSeed Tees was a vendor as well and I learned some valuable things that I wanted to share:

  • Know your venue
  • Check out the facility where the event is to be held
  • Find out if there is an admission to get in & if so how much
  • Make sure there has been adequate advertising

In keeping my experiences real

I have to say that economically working the

event was not worth the 5 hour drive or the money that was spent

because there were not enough people,

the facilties were small and there was an admission to see Queen Afua speak on Day 2 .

Charging an admission affected the spending of the buyers at the event on Day 2 I think.

There are many elements to consider when working events I see.

By no means am I knocking the Afrikan Woman Institute of Atlanta.

I think as they grow they will be valuable to the community.

The venue was just not very beneficial to the vendors that attended.

Does anyone else have any tips or shared experiences on vending?

I am all ears.

Anatomy of a Personal Brand Strategy - Part I

Personal brand marketing is a solid career management technique. When you are doing the work to clearly identify your personal brand - or theoverall collection of perceptions that you want others to have aboutyou - it may not be as simple as jotting down a few notes on a memo pad.

Developing a personal brand strategy that describes the irresistible, brilliantyou can take some work, but once you have it, you can apply the piecesto everything you communicate - e.g. resume, interview remarks, onlinemedia, etc.

Below, I will share with you some of the components I used in developing my own brand marketing statement.

Here are the first five concepts to focus on with a brief definition ofeach, and an example taken from my own personal brand library:

  • Objective - what outcome are you trying to achieve for yourself or for your targetaudience (e.g. To develop highly successful, professional women of colorto be competitors for advanced leadership positions.)
  • Core message - the primary mindset that you want anyone who comes in contact withyou to adopt (e.g. You can successfully advance your career when youincrease your brand visibility in a smart, authentic, and consistentway.)
  • Target audience - who do you want to share the message with (e.g. Professional women of color, age 30-55,seeking career advancement, career change, or business start-up.)**Later, we can talk about who the ideal client is for you within thistarget - yes, there is a distinction.
  • Brand Statement - what do you do and who do you work with (e.g., I work with professionalwomen of color seeking career advancement or transitioning into solobusiness. I show them how to develop a brand strategy for their careerthat connects them with their target audience & key influencers.)
  • Unique position - what makes you different than anyone else who does this work (e.g.,My strategy is based on a 60/40 combination of proven career managementtechniques and online brand expertise. I also have a powerhouse networkof branding resources to help my clients implement the plan once the itis put on paper.)

That's all for part one. Think about your answers in each area. If you work on this over the next week, you will have agreat start to developing your brilliant personal brand strategy.

This was my response to a reporter today who asked about the top 5 tips to get promoted in a tough economy. Thought I'd share them with youin this quick bulleted list.

Top 5 activities I'm sharing with my clients for being promotable right now are:
  1. Tell yourself the truth about your performance and your talents - whatresults can you offer? What has been your track record over the pastyear or so? Take a good hard look at what makes you promotable andask yourself the tough questions before somebody else does.
  2. Get raw, honest-to-goodness feedback from others even if it hurts - onceyou have examined your personal results, find out what kind ofprofessional reputation you've created. Do key players respect yourwork? Will you get the support you need to advance to the next level? What kind of advice can you solicit on the steps required in yourcurrent professional environment?
  3. Be prepared for a "pat on the back" promotion - yes, you might have to recognize that a salaryincrease is just not possible right now in your company. Be open to apromotion with a "head nod" instead of an increase in pay.Ultimately, you can revisit salary once the economy begins to turnaround. Track your results over the coming year so that you canjustify and support an increase once this conversation is open againin your business.
  4. Figure out what your brand is, then market, market, market - this ties back to #1 and 2. What kind of core themesare you known for and what consistent message are you sending aboutyourself? If you have a dynamic brand as a reliable,solution-oriented leader continue to think of ways to enhance thisbrand. Contribute in meetings, be able to speak to how your work isimpacting the bottom line results.Become known for something positiveand relevant in your industry.
  5. Manage your online reputation - since so many employers these days are connected with their employees, prospective candidates, etc. online, it's important that you haveestablished a solid, congruent image. You will want to do thisresponsibly, and remember that it's almost better to have an invisibleonline brand (none at all) than to have a "two-faced' online brand -one where you're Dr. Jekyll at work and Mr. Hyde at play.

Now what do you think about this list & what else should be on it?

The Statue of Liberty

It is hard to believe that after my many years of schooling (secondary and post) the following facts about the Statue of Liberty were never taught.

Hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of people including myself have
visited the Statue of Liberty over the years yet I'm unable to find one
person who knows the
true history behind the Statue...amazing!

Yes, amazing that so much important Black history (such as this) is hidden from us (
Black and White). What makes this even worse is the fact that the current twist on history perpetuates and promotes white supremacy at the expense of Black Pride!

During my visit to
France I saw the original Statue of Liberty. However,
there was a difference...the statue in France is BLACK!!!!!! "Ya learn
something new everyday!"

The Statue of Liberty was originally a Black woman. But, as memory serves, it was because the model was Black. In a book called "The Journey of The Songhai People," as
Dr. Jim Haskins (a member of the National Education Advisory Committee of the Liberty-Ellis Island Committee, professor of English at the University of Florida , and prolific Black author) points out that is what stimulated the original idea for that 151 foot statue in the harbor. He says that the idea for the creation of the statue initially was to acknowledge the part that Black soldiers played in the ending of Black African Bondage in the United States .

It was created in the mind of the French historian Edourd de Laboulaye,
Chairman of the French
Anti-Slavery Society, who, together with sculptor Frederic Auguste Bartholdi, proposed to the French government that the people of France present to the people of the United States through the American Abolitionist Society, the gift of a Statue of Liberty in recognition of the fact that Black soldiers won the Civil War in the United States. It was widely known then that it was Black soldiers who played the pivotal role in winning the war, and this gift would be a tribute to their prowess.

Suzanne Nakasian, director of the Statue of Liberty,
Ellis Island
Foundations' National Ethnic Campaign said that the Black Americans' direct connection to
Lady Liberty is unknown to the majority of Americans, BLACK or WHITE.

When the statue was presented to the US . Minister to France in 1884, it is said that he remonstrated that the dominant view of the broken shackles would be offensive to the U.S. South because the statue was a reminder of Blacks winning their freedom. It was a reminder to a beaten South of the ones who caused their defeat, their despised former captives.

Documents of Proof:

1.) You may go and see the original model of the Statue of Liberty, with the broken chains at her feet and in her left hand. Go to the Museum of the City of NY, Fifth Avenue and 103rd Street
(212) 534-1672 or call the same number and dial ext. 208 and speak to Peter Simmons and he can send you some documentation.

2.) Check with the N.Y. Times magazine, part II May 18, 1986.

3.) The dark
original face of the Statue of Liberty can be seen in the N.Y. Post June 17, 1986, also the Post stated the reason for the broken chains at her feet.

4.) Finally, you may check with the French Mission or the French Embassy at the U.N. or in Washington , D.C. and ask for some original
French material on the Statue of Liberty, including the Bartholdi original model. You can call in September (202) 944-6060 or 6400.

Please pass this information along!
Be sure to send it to people with children!
Open a dialog and discuss it with your friends!

Let this be the beginning of your quest for the Truth about American History past and present! Empower Yourself, Your Family and Your Community! Realize that the lies and the cover ups are still on going!

We are celebrating Independence day in the United States and for Canada
I believe it began July 1.

When thinking about Women's Empowerment I can't help but reflect on
how we have been granted certain freedoms because of the sacrifices of many.

This is a short post, however, a very important point to speak to.

My question to you is "What does Freedom mean to you?"
My answer? Freedom to me is having the ability to do what I want, when Iwant, at the time that I desire and where I want while enjoying
my family and friends. This also includes my Faith.

Are you realizing this freedom? What are you doing to manifest this Freedom
in your life? Does your current business model support your idea of Freedom?

If freedom means something different to you, ask yourself the same questions.

We have so many opportunities to realize the freedoms that we desire.
Empowerment is a choice. You make the choice to realize maximum empowerment
or to continue your dis-empowering habits and as a result remain in the same place.

As you celebrate Independence day, set intentions on how you are going
to step up to realizing the Freedom you desire in your life today! Begin
living life on your terms by your design.

Happy Independence Day!

10744044499?profile=originalTwo questions that I get asked frequently by new entrepreneurs are “What is an advisory team?” and “Who advises you?” The topics usually come up in the course of business planning sessions where I ask entrepreneurs to list individuals that they would like to have on their dream team. This is an important part of any business plan and strengthens companies for a number of reasons.

  • Insight. First, there is a proverb that says “Wisdom is found in a multitude of counsel.” This suggests that it makes good sense to seek the advice of others who can maturely guide you in getting the results that you want to achieve. Advisors possess wisdom that comes from having insight into a particular area which will help you plan and implement successful business strategies.

  • Accountability. Next, when it comes to advice whose is the first that you normally trust? It’s probably your own, right? After all, if you cannot trust your own instincts, then who can you trust? But listening solely to your own opinions at all times produces biased results. Because humans are creatures of habit they tend to do things that are within their comfort zone. That is not the way to build a sustainable business. Instead aim to create a team of advisors that will help you push the limits, come up with new ideas, and hold you accountable for reaching them.

  • Diversification. Finally, advisory teams are there to support your success by providing their expertise. Build a team from diverse industries so that you receive a holistic view of business The areas that you want to cover are law, accounting, banking, insurance, finance, marketing, and management. Look for someone with experience in each of the following professions and you will have a solid foundation to create a sustainable business.

If you are unsure where to find the ideal people to fill advisory vacancies I suggest starting by contacting other business owners that you know and trust. If you network regularly in small business forums pay attention to what’s being said and by whom. Many times you can glean great information just by listening to the wisdom that’s right at your finger tips. You can also speak with a business banker. Since they work with professionals on a regular basis they can refer you to reputable resources. Most will have contacts that you can look into to see if they are a good fit for your company. Finally, if none of these sources produce any leads remember to try out your local Chamber of Commerce where a host of industry specific professionals meet and network.
