Hello I would like to say Happy Happy New Year to all you hard working ladies out there. Its about 14 mins til 2009. I want to say thanks to everyone for making me feel welcomed, and giving me all of their postive support. In the New Year its all about getting more wisdom and learning everything I possibly can to take me and my team to the next level. Its not all about us just making a quick buck or wasting other peoples time with some get rich quick scheme or some lame cashgifting program. I don't think so, that is not how we fly...we reach our goals by keeping it real and and learning as much as we possibly can, through books, cds, and weekly phone calls also meeting up with one another from time to time (8 min. til 2009). Im so happy and feel so blessed to be here in this industry for the New Year. Have a blessed New Year. (4mins til 2009)I have so much Im going to share with everyone and I wish you all the best for 2009.

Leave disease and illness in 2008, renew your mind daily on The Well-Side.For many years I suffered with several illnesses and was told that it was normal. Then I realized the importance of food and how it can heal the body. I released my ownership of disease and illness and decided to choose Wholeness. I can hear my body more clearly; I make better choices, and live with the respect of self and others. So I ask you, “What are you possessing?” On this last day of 2008 make the choice to renew your Total Body-Consciousness daily by making choices that add to you.You no longer have to live a life where food is your enemy.Tips to come to The Well-SideAche or pain - find the root cause of the issue before using medication to mask the symptom.Proactive - ask questions when you visit your care provider, know your body, never take possession of a diagnosis, seek options to make an informed choice to eradicate the cause of the illness.Self-Love – respect yourself enough to get the proper rest (no just sleeping), take time to spend alone to meditate/pray, be honest with yourself and others, know when and how to say “NO!”Leave the baggage behind – let go of foods you know are not working for you. Stop trying to convince yourself that this is the last time, find an alternative.Recreate – if you do not like your reflection change it. Stop receiving how others define you and create yourself for who you are (Be-come who you desire to BE). You make your own reality.Exercise – do it. Start small and increase but get started. Walk, jump rope, roller skate, run, play with your children, too many options for excuses. If you do not make these changes for yourself think of those who love and care for you, do it for them. Why shorten your life when you can live a long abundant life.“Total Body-Consciousness possess yours in 2009”Say this until you begin to live it “Wellness is Mine in 2009!”

Just as the eyes are the window to the soul and a flawless complexion creates a perfect canvass upon which all other makeup is set to enhance or accentuate one's beauty, beautiful lips donning the correct lip color that complements the masterpiece which is the beautifully made face is easily done when one selects lip color according to their skintone. You simply need to know whether you are warm or cool. It matters not whether one is fair, redheaded, brunette, blonde, tan, brown etc… as women of any of these groups may be either cool or warm. This is easily done by looking at the underside of the wrists. Green veins are likely warm and blue veins are cool. When it cannot easily be determined whether veins are green or blue or if both are visible then one is considered beige or neutral and either lip color family is appropriate, both warm and cool for this fortunate group of individuals.Warm Colors Coral, Peach, Copper,Brick, Bronze, Brown, Brick Red, Melon, Salmon, Burnt Orange, , Red with golden tones, and tanned pinks all are examples of warm lip colors. These are often most flattering on women with warm eg. golden, yellow, olive, and peach undertones but are also worn well by women with beige or neutral complexions.Cool Colors Pink, Raspberry, Fushia, Cool Pink Lavender, Plum, Rose, Strawberry, Crimson, Amethyst, Lilac, Reds with blue undertone and Mauves all comprise examples of cool toned lip colors that wear beautifully on women with cool, pink, blue, and beige or neutral undertones.Often women with Olive complexions find that many of these colors work quite well with their complexions too. Warm and cool tones tend to fall into two groups. The warm tones tend to be earthy with metallic colors such bronze, copper or gold or fruit names like peach and melon.Cool tones tend to contain the names of berries, which are often shades of pink or purple or reds with blue undertones.Warm and cool women can both wear red lipstick but the true red is usually blue in tone while women with warm undertones will do best with warm reds. Blue or true toned lip colors have the advantage of making teeth appear whiter and it has been said that women tend to prefer cool or neutral reds while men are more drawn to women wearing warm red toned lip colors. The key to selecting the most flattering lip color for you is to select according to your undertone. Our lip glosses do more than give you shine and color, they contain essential oils and natural butters to provide you with nourishing botanical ingredients to optimize your lips health and beauty. We flavor our lip products naturally with oils such as vanilla and mint which have been shown to increase happy feelings; citrus oils which give a boost of energy; rose and lavender which are perfect for calming and soothing stressed nerves. Warm and cool shades apply to your lip gloss choices as they do your lipsticks. Choose colors one shade lighter or darker than your favorite lipsticks for an extra layer of light-loving color, or wear them alone for a natural, pretty look. While lip color is important so is the protective measure of both removing and smoothing your lips with both an exfoliater followed by a protective moisturizing balm. We carry 2 wonderful products that will help you achieve both of these goals. .. Our lip scrubber which is formulated with cane sugar, Mango Butter, Lavender, Mint and other nourishing ingredients will help you to easily remove roughened skin from your lips revealing smooth beautiful soft lips. This will not only help your lip color to apply more evenly and smoothly but you will find that it will last longer and if bleeding lip color is a problem or feathering, this step of exfoliating will greatly reduce or even eliminate this by reducing thickened or lined skin around and on the lips – areas which can cause lip color and glosses to gather and give an unflattering look. Also our 4 lip butter balm is a wonderful protective lip treatment that not only serves to heal and sooth your lips but makes a great moisturizing base for your lips prior to applying either lipstick, lip creams, or even lip glosses. Used nightly as a lip treatment you will find that your lips are better conditioned and experience less chapping. From Day to Evening Typically your daytime lip color should be softer than your nighttime or evening lip color look. With loose mineral lip powders you can easily deepen or add drama to your evening lip look by simply applying a touch of mineral blush or eye shadow (barring blues and greens) to your lips either prior or following adding your lip color. A touch of colored or sheer gloss on top of this and you've not only created an evening look but have added a new color to your cosmetic collection. If you've chosen to amp up your eye look you may opt to add a touch of gold or silver glow mineral powder to the center of your lips, both top and bottom, as this will complement, soften, and balance even a dark dramatic lip color. Or wear a gloss for day and add a lipstick for night. Another option is to wear gloss by day and lipcream or lipstick by night. At EGMINERALS we carry a very wide variety of lip colors, textures, and finishes. All are formulated with natural ingredients such as Mango Butter, Virgin Olive Oil, and essential oils to not only add color and beauty to your lips but to provide them with protective moisturizing oils and butters to keep them in prime condition. Our aim is to provide quality premium natural cosmetics at affordable prices to all women worldwide! Please visit our website at www.egminerals.comRead more…

Attention Authors! Sell Lots of Books with Teleseminars! If you’re an author, speaker, coach or consultant, it’s likely you know how important it is to market your products and services. The challenge for many professionals is not only what to do, but how to do it. Additionally, knowing what is a wise investment in their marketing and what is not.Take authors; Countless numbers of authors have the dream of selling lots of books, becoming well known (and even reaching celebrity status), and making their fortune through their craft. Yet, most will not succeed due to lack of how to develop and implement an effective publicity plan. It takes more, much more, than a well-written manuscript to succeed as an author, at least if you want to make money through your writing. You Have To Gain VisibilitySuccessful authors understand how essential it is to gain visibility within their market; visibility that equates to more readers, more books sales, more market reach; and ultimately more revenue. One of the most common beliefs uninformed authors have of how to gain market visibility is through paid advertising. The fact is, most book advertising does not work. Besides most authors don’t have huge budgets for paid advertising campaigns.Yet, many waste untold amounts of money on ad campaigns that don’t get them a result that justifies the expense of paid advertising. Still others do nothing at all to gain visibility and promote their books. Why Readers Buy Your BooksThe majority of readers buy books based on word of mouth advertising; the title of a book and Continue Here Read more…

If you are spending more time on social networking sites and not seeing enough results, this series of blogs and my upcoming ebook is for you!(c) 2008 Hits A Million, LLC all rights reserved. Please do hit the "share button" to send or email this to your friends but only I can copy and paste this.First impressions matter!! It's hard to overcome a first impression! People will quickly sum up their impression of you in less than 7 seconds. First impressions also stick. You will be quickly labeled, good or bad: Oh yeah, that's the girl or guy who had _______ on his profile. Or a visitor to your page might even forget your profile! You want exposure! You want people to talk about you! You want people to tell others about you!How do you do that? Give people an experience when they come to your page! They will stay longer. They will tell their friends to check out your profile. They will tell others to listen to your music if your music is available and something that they like. They will offer to collaborate with you if they are in the music business. They will ask you questions and the like. In other words, your visitors will become fans of you and your music. To do that you have to make the most of your profile. But many people believe that merely joining a social networking site is the magic key to winning and getting noticed on social networking sites. It isn't. Putting up several profiles on various networks will make you more googleable. You do want/have to be googleable! However, you will only be googleable if someone simply searches for your name in Google. You want people to be able to find you by searching other generic terms like "music artist" "recording artist" and the like. Additionally, people will find YOU only if your name is distinguishable enough. I'll talk about that more in a later blog. But you want to set up GREAT profiles on the social networking sites that you’re on.And when visitors get to your profile, what do they see?No profile pic.No activity.Hardly any comments. For musicians, a music player up with no music (which makes NO sense). For musicians, music that is not goodNo professional looking pictureLittle or no friendsFor musicians, nothing showing people like your musicNo insight into who you are through blogs, pictures, or videosNothing showing you value personal/professional development such as professional affiliations with PROs, groups, and the likeNothing showing you like peopleNothing demonstrating that you want people to talk to youNo graphics whatsoeverAn ugly backgroundOr here's the overboard king/queen:Too many gadgets on your pageToo many pictures of yourself that all look alike, e.g. all head shotsMaking all 5 of your music players and your videos auto play.An about me page with toooooo many paragraphs about yourself on it.Profile colors which make the words on your profile unreadable. These are mistakes because again first impressions matter, because you want to engage people, you want people to want to engage you, you want repeat visitors, you want referrals, you want respect in the industry, and you want to appear professional yet approachable. Having nothing up on your profile won’t cause repeat visitors. Having too much on your profile won’t make visitors stay because it takes forever to load your profile page. Make your profile interesting. With all of the great things out now that you can simply copy and paste, there’s no excuse for a boring profile. Just don’t overdo the bling!Continue reading my other blog posts on this topic and get ready for my upcoming ebook on attracting people to your profile page.

This new world called "Online Social Network" is still a novelty for some if not most of us over 50. We join social network sites that we feel we can relate to, and go to great pains to set up our profile page so that it reflects who we are.I don't know about you all, but for me, I was really nervous at first, about clicking on other people profile pictures and requesting their friendship. I really didn't know what to expect. So here it is a year later, and I have memberships on numerous SN sites and even started on of my own, "Word4UTVNetwork."I am clear that my sole purpose of being online is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to fellowship with others in this most fascinating new way. I interact with so many people during the day with so many different personalities, that when Pastor Ken gets home, I'm exhausted. I find that when I leave the house for meetings or just visiting my friends, two things are always with me; 1. my pocketbook, and 2. my laptop, yes even when I attend Church on Sundays, the laptop is in the trunk of the car. I can't help it.One day I discovered the community that has over 5 million members, and the Holy Spirit told me to join the community. I found myself saying out loud, " you've got to be kidding, right Lord?" Nope, the Holy Spirit said join and that's what I did. Wanna talk about sin! Anyways, I started a discussion that said, "There's a Pastor In the House" introduce myself and left it at that. Not to long after that I started getting requests to be added as a friend. OK. I also attracted the online bow-wows, men who are looking for women to get over on... but that comes with the territory. Now here is the reason for this blog. I receive this friend request from a young lady, so I clicked on her photo and saw that she was only wearing a teddie, not to mention that she looked like she weighed at least 250lbs or better. So she is asking for my friendship, me, Pastor and she, is wearing nothing but a teddie, with all her stuffing hanging out. You all know what this means, don't you? If I accept her, she will be on my page next to some of you who are already on my friend list. So, I've gone fishing, caught some fish, now what do I do? What would you do if you were me? Share your thoughts, I'd love to hear them.

Greetings Family,(Contact Information At The Bottom Of The Page)It's your friendly neighborhood "Digital Drummer" again...smileIn these troubling economic times many Black business are looking for funding…..Have you considered Business Plan Competitions? If you are new to business and have no track record, or credit history; If you don't have a rich uncle or Angel financier; you can enter these competitions and not only get great advice on improving your plan, but Hard Cash Grants as well. On average these competitions give away anywhere from $5,000 to $50,000 dollars in prize money. Let me repeat; Free Money (not loans). As I wrote in “So You Want To Be A Dot.com Millionaire” (see http://www.citylightssoftware.com/reporte0801.html), the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. That first step is creating a plan and structure for your company. Planning and structure are the most important stage of business development. Without a plan…you plan to fail.Your Business Plan should tell you approximately how much money you will need to get from point A to Z. Most small businesses fail due to lack of capital and poor planning. You need to know from day one how you will manufacture, market, and deliver products or services to your customers. How large a staff do you need; who is your consumer market; what is your tax liability; what is your supply and distribution stream. These are all questions you need to answer before approaching anyone with your idea. In fact, if you can’t answer those basic business 101 questions…then you’re NOT ready to go into business! For those just starting out the SBA has a great online assessment tool (http://www.sba.gov/assessmenttool/index.html). This assessment tool is designed to help you better understand your readiness for starting a small business. It is simple to use and will take less than 5 minutes to complete. If you need help preparing and/or completing your Business Plan there are many free resources available on and off line. I recommend you start by contacting your local non-profit Business Incubator or SBA office. There are many national Black business and technical groups such as the BDPA (see www.bdpa.org) that run entrepreneurial programs designed to encourage, support, and foster new business in the Black community. The bottom line is whether your Business Plan is 5 pages, or 200….It is a Living Document, one that will change and grow as you develop your entrepreneurial skills. A proper Business plan will not only guide you, but inspire you. Once you have your Business Plan together you can submit it to a number of Business Plan Competitions for start-up funding.Listed below are just some of my favorites, but you can view a full list of over 50 competitions (most from business schools) by checking out the following linkhttp://mgt.ncsu.edu/eei/events/competition/OtherBPCs.phpThe National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) business plan competitionhttp://www.nfte.com/Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) BizFilings Plan for the Future business plan competitionhttp://www.gsea.orgthe Miller/Coors Urban Entrepreneurs Series (MUES). business plan competitionhttp://www.millerurbanentrepreneurs.com/default2.aspFor more help on creating a proper/professional Business Plan see “18 Small Business Web Sites To Grow Your Company” (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/The_City_Lights_Reporter/message/2167)***************(Advertisement)*********************Need some great ideas for corporate or personal gift-giving?Then go to City Lights Software(http://www.citylightssoftware.com)and see some of the most unique afrocentric gifts available online! We Deliver ONLINE - Direct To Your Desktop for just $14.95Please take the time to purchase one our afrocentric screen savers TODAY!Don't Just Talk the Talk...Let Your Dollars Walk the WalkIf you have any problems with purchasing online contact me direct at sales@citylightssoftware.comorcall (213) 944-4176***************************************************This Online Journal was brought to you by InterServe Networks. 2008 was quite a year - a year that has had it shares of joy and pain. What makes this year any different than the other years?Well, I began the New Year in church with my family and made a list of things that I needed to accomplish in 2008. Each day had its own unique feature whether it was a moment of triumph to be followed shortly by a challenge that seemed determined to cause some distress. It was on – never a dull moment.Family moments were rather emotional from celebrating birthdays, anxiously awaiting medical test results, graduation, traveling, attending various seminars, symposiums, signed on to participate in Cancer Prevention Study/CPS-3 (20years)and many other activities.Determined to expand on making a difference in the lives of others, I began hosting the Health & Wellness Show which airs each Saturday morning on Blog Talk Radio. The show has featured many wonderful guests from Health Care Professionals, Authors, Presidents of Health Care Organizations, Media Personalities - all sharing great information with the listeners. In addition to hosting the Health & Wellness Show, I signed on to myspace ( a place I viewed as a ridiculous site where my children would log on and stare at the screen for hours, posting their pictures, finding friends they have not seen in years and meeting new people (yikes!). I hesitated to join the site as I just could not see it being beneficial for my line of work. After all, who wants to talk about health on a social site? I was encouraged to sign on as a method of reaching more potential listeners.Well, not long after I signed on to myspace, I was all involved with posting photos, catching up with friends (who knew?), posting blog and just when I finally had the hang of it, I was told to join Facebook. Needless to say, I joined Facebook. Next up - twitter. I signed on to twitter and sat there for a while unsure of what I was doing there. As a matter of fact, I noticed the messages in my email that people were following me so I decided to follow them and that's when I saw what it was all about. So I began to Twit along - giving updates on my daily activities.By the latter part of 2008, I began to work on a CD 'The Day that Changed My Life' a CD that is made for newly diagnosed cancer patients. It is an amazing CD that will serve as a guide - taking the patient and their support system through the various stages - the highs and the lows - the treatment phases and many other great features. So many great ideas came to my mind and I had to jot them down to add to my list of things to do. My list grows daily and is revised often. What makes this year different from any other year is the productive year that is still a work in progress. The year will end in a few days and my list of things that needed to be accomplished in 2008 is incomplete. I take joy in many of the accomplishments that I have achieved as I never imagined that I would have hosted a weekly Health & Wellness Show;create and actively post on the Health & Wellness Blog;work on CD; network with effective results; develop and designed a logo for the business and have a line of apparel and accessories with proceeds to benefit the children with terminal diseases of the underserved communities; increased requests to speak at health related events, etc. I could go on and on with the accomplishments that were made - yet they were not even on the To Do list of 2008.I say goodbye almost reluctantly to 2008 as I wish I could go back and make some changes. We lost my father in-law, my buddy to Multiple Myeloma a form of cancer that did not give us much time to share with each other. It was an outstanding blow that knocked the wind out of us.I look forward to 2009 as I prepare to make my list again - with every intention of working actively on the items.
