7 Tips to Power Up Your Blogging Endeavors

7 Tips to Power up Your Blogging Endeavors

Whether you want to share about your favorite interests, ministry, business etc. Blogging is a great tool to use.

Blogging has come to be considered a highly effective marketing tool. You can easily create awareness of your product and get clients and customers to interact with each other. And not only customers, also those who are relatively new to your product get a platform to ask questions and clear their air about your product.

Moreover, it also increases your website rankings can increase because the blog is constantly being updates, commented on, and discussions are always going on. Because of its sheer activity, the rankings improve, creating more awareness of the product.

The following are tips you can follow to power up your blogging endeavors

• Never make the blog post too long uselessly. It must be well written. Long posts tend to get dreary and they are not ‘catchy’ enough for people to sit and go through them.

• Update regularly. Since you don’t need to write long posts that are not much effort. Ideally, blog 3-4 times a week.

• Be entertaining where required, everyone can do with some light hearted humor, without being derogatory.

• You need not stick only to text. Video and photo blogging are fastly catching on and are interesting ways to share your thoughts, and make your videos and photographs well known.

• Be yourself. Do not try to imitate or copy someone else’s content.

• Update frequently otherwise visitors may stop coming to your blog. It will also give you more confidence to churn out more well worded posts in the future.

• Make sure you proof read your posts. Spelling and grammatical errors can be a major put-off for many readers.

10744072101?profile=originalIn life we can become disillusioned due to unfulfilled dreams, missed opportunities, working on a job that is not the dream job you had hoped, and so on and so on. These life disappointments can often lead to depression and hopelessness. Life, as it unfolds, can sometimes  leave you in wonderment as to where did you go wrong  and a case of "would've, could've, and should'ves" comes right behind it.

Well, listen up. There is always a second chance at anything that you had your heart set on. You just have to look at it again on second sight. Take a step back and view it with a different mindset. Believe me, I have been there and know that it can be done. Let's explore a couple of ways on how you can fall in love with yourself again on second sight.

  1. Recover from letdowns and adversity. Yes, we must begin the healing process of coming to grips of where we are now and releasing  past letdowns and adversities. The word "recovery" simply means to return to a normal state of health, mind, and/or strength.  We need all of these to be in good health (notice I did not say perfect) in order to begin a new chapter in our lives. Look at past adversity as a lesson(s) learned for a better and brighter future. If you have to, have a funeral service for those "letdowns" and "adversities". Give them a nice ceremonial burial (hard cry included). After your burial, vow to let those disappointments stay dead and vow never to resurrect them. It's time to forgive, yourself and/or others, and move on.
  2. Next, Embrace unfairness & unlock love. Hey who ever said life is fair? When we feel we have been treated unfairly, we close ourselves off from receiving and giving full love. We only allow it in partially. We even tend to not love ourselves because we allowed "it" to happen to us (whatever your "it" may be). Well, that is just a crutch that's used to divert you from pressing onward. Embrace what has happened, that it happened and begin to unlock your heart again to receive and give love fully to others and most of all to yourself. This not only goes for relationships, but it also goes for anything that has you feeling down and depressed in any area of your life. When you begin to do this, you can only begin to go higher and higher.

Review these 2 steps to give you the beginning of something wonderful - YOU! After all, you deserve it. Baby steps is all it takes.

Stay tuned for the next update as I continue this series on "Falling In Love With Yourself On Second Sight".

According to WordPress.org, WordPress is a web software that you can use to create a beautiful website or blog. The keyword in that sentence is “software” and just like other software we used in lives on a daily basis, there comes a time when they must be updated.

Picture this, your WP powered site/blog is running perfectly. Then one day you login to see a notification at the top about the new WordPress version that just release but you ignore it. Another update comes out and you ignore that as well.

There are two possible outcomes and I see this happen too often:
(A) You see that a plug-in you use needs to be update and you figure do that update instead but it break your site. You get a white screen when you go to your page and can’t even get to the login page. Or (B) Hackers take down your site.

Now with either outcome, there’s a possibility you may loose everything because you fail to keep your WordPress software updated. I also seen where people do keep their WP up to date but fail to backup before doing a major upgrade and something goes wrong. [read entire post]

How Much Do You Believe In Yourself?

Be careful what you believe because that is what you will experience. Your belief system is a mechanism which is uniquely yours. It is powered by your desire and controlled by your thoughts and actions. In other words, your success is measured by the strength of your belief.

What is it that you desire? Often people do not have a clue what it is they want, they just know what they do not want. Now is a good time to evaluate your goals and determine the end result you want to achieve. Put your goals in writing and place them where you can see them throughout the day. Read them frequently to keep them fresh on your mind.

Be inquisitive. Research and learn as much as you can on how you can achieve your goal. Use all possible resources such as books, CDs, courses and people. Yes, people. Talk to as many people as possible who are already successful in what you want to achieve. Ask, ask and ask some more about what they did to reach success. Do not limit your contacts to only the people you already know.

Introduce yourself by phone or mail, explain your purpose for contacting them and ask for a tip. The worst thing that can happen is that they ignore you. The best thing that can happen is that they become your mentor and offer support and encouragement. Chances are you will receive at least one great tip from many of the people you contact. This method is the least expensive and most rewarding.

Be unique. Next, take the ideas you learn, embellish them and come up with your own creative process. Think of how you can approach your goal in a way that no one else has. Dare to be different. Don’t be afraid to take risks. What do you have to loose? Write out a list showing the worst things that could happen and then list all of the best possible outcomes. Always maintain your concentration on your desired result.

Be better than your competition. When you were a child and saw your older siblings or friends riding a bike (without training wheels), you didn’t look at their scraped knees and elbows and say, “Whoa, I could get hurt doing that.” Instead, you begged to try it for yourself. With a great deal of practice and often pain, you gradually learned how to maintain your balance.

Before long you were trying to “out do” your friends with your speed or fancy tricks. When you fell, you would get back on and try again with even greater determination. From your very first effort, you believed in your mind that if you got back on, you would eventually learn to ride. I bet you even knew in your mind you would be the best in the neighborhood, in your school, in the state, in the world!

Be positive. If you see obstacles before you, then you will also only see problems. If you have hesitations that you plan will not work, then it will not work. If you are influenced by the power of  negative people, then you will never be any better than they are. Believe in yourself and what you are capable of achieving.

When your desire to succeed is stronger than the pain, fear or frustration of failing, there is no turning back. I challenge you to view your goals just like you did when you were a child before you learned about self doubt and negative criticism. Remember, anything is possible as long as you believe. Make a commitment that you will not let anything or anyone, including yourself stand in your way of reaching your goals.

Take a Chill Pill

Wow! We’re already in the 2nd month of 2012. Hopefully you’ve been on the grind and closer to a launch, re-launch or continued success. Hopefully you’ve also seen some improvements in your business. Unfortunately, sometimes with all the hard work comes exhaustion. Are you all blogged out yet? Do you have computer “pink eye” yet from staring at it all night? Do you need to catch up on some beauty rest from some all-night planning sessions?  I commend you on all your hard work and encourage you to keep pushing through until you get your expected end results. BUT sometimes you need to step back and ‘take a chill pill’. Remember that saying? It was used to tell someone to calm down if they were stressed out about something. So I’m telling you now, “Take a chill pill”. Take some time (an hour or two or one day-JUST ONE) to calm your nerves and just sit back and relax. Put your phone away, computer away, stay away from emails and the business phone for a bit and just…chill. Although it’s not mentioned often it is important to keep a healthy balance between business, family, and you! Starting and running a business can be hard so congratulations to you for working so hard. You’re doing a great job, keep up the excellent work. And when it becomes too much to balance remember to… ‘take a chill pill’!

Norma Ross- The Boss

(this is what I entered on Black Bloggers Connect (BBC) as a BHM blog entry.  If you like it here, please like it on the blog site.

Normally during this month, we concentrate on the same deserving African Americans in history. When I saw this contest, I knew I had to honor a little known very important African American woman to history.

Norma Ross (1934-2010) from Dayton Ohio was the only African American female owner of a Mercedes-Benz franchise in the world and the only African American woman owner of a Buick and GMC franchise in Ohio.

Mrs. Ross (nee Henderson) met Robert P (Bob) Ross when they both were in high school in Richmond, Ind. They married and Norma received a degree in elementary education from Earlham College, Robert operated a Buick dealership. They came to Dayton in 1979 where Robert sold Buick and Mercedes Benz models and Norma worked as a classroom teacher and a curriculum consultant in the Dayton Public School system. She helped established the first all day kindergarten program in Dayton, Ohio.

The Bob Ross Organization consists of three franchises: Buick, GMC and Mercedes-Benz. Bob Ross died in 1997 and Norma assumed command of the Bob Ross Dealerships. Their two children, Robert Jr. and Jenell, became vice presidents. Jenell Ross continues as president of Ross Motor Cars.

In 2000 the Bob Ross Organization was featured in the Black Enterprise Magazine as “Auto Dealership of the Year”.

In 2007 Norma received the “25 Year Award” as a GMC Dealer. In 2009 a “30 Year Award” as a Mercedes-Benz Dealer and Bob Ross Buick also celebrated 35 years as a Buick Dealer. The dealership has been one of the “Top 100 Companies” in Dayton, Ohio from 1999 to present. In the State of Ohio, Bob Ross Buick franchise was ranked #1 for eight consecutive years and currently ranks #2 in Buick sales. Currently, Bob Ross Buick is among the Top 50 largest Buick Dealers in the country.

After her death in 2010, the family established “The Norma J. Ross Youth Foundation” to benefit deserving youth in the community in her honor.

Her other awards and accolades were too numerous to mention but more information can be found at:

Dear friend,

We can all follow our dreams. It may seem impossible or extremely difficult at times, but it’s doable. We may fall several times before we figure out how not to though. I know you are working at that 9-5 job/building your business and hating every minute of it, wishing you could just bust out and live the life you want. You may know a few people who’re already on their dream path and say, “That will be me one day!”

You know that saying “The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence”, don’t you know there’s someone who thinks your grass is greener than theirs. It’s the nature of the beast – competition and constant comparing your situation to others. When will it all end? Or better yet – when will we stop beating ourselves up and be grateful for what we do have?

Today’s job market and economy is different than what it was 5 years ago and it will continue to change. Gone are the days of having guarantee security. Not only do we need a plan A but plan B, C and maybe even D. Why? When one fail or doesn’t go the way we envision it, then we must stop figure out what didn’t work and did, then duplicate the right stuff. [Read entire post]

10744073887?profile=originalFeatured this week on News One: Marcia Adams of College Park, Ga., and her boyfriend went to a convenience store to buy a chocolate candy bar and decided to purchase two Quik Pik lottery tickets. The tickets were bought less than an hour before the drawing, and two days later, she was $72 million richer.

Adams, a corporate account doesn't plan on leaving her job. She said:

I love what I do.  I have a purpose.

Apart from the fact that she won $72 million dollars I think its great that she wants to keep working. I don't think most people love what they do and find it gives them purpose. Do you? Do you think she's got the right idea or would you quit everything and take a break?

If I personally were to win that kind of money while I would probably take a mini-break, I think I would really take a chunk of that money and invest into a TON of business ideas and special projects I've always dreamed of getting off the ground. Really do things the right way.

What do you think? Leave a comment below and to read the full article on NewsOne click here.

And for those ambitious entrepreneurs who are working towards that $72 million, on a mission to Keep that Income Steady and Ever Growing I've created this click here.
