WINTER BEAUTY TIPS

Moisturize to the max. Because indoor and outdoor conditions are drier in winter, use moisturizers more frequently; you may also want to switch to heavier emollients and creams during this season. This doesn't necessarily mean you have to change lines or companies, since most skin-care lines have a variety of products to meet different needs. Switching between formulations, or from lighter to heavier creams, can rejuvenate your whole skin-care process. Now is a good time to try lotions that contain alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), such as glycolic or lactic acid, which are effective for reversing dry skin and invisible lines at a deeper level. In addition to AHA's, many natural moisturizers feature antioxidants which further counteract the free-radical damage caused by winter sun. Common antioxidant ingredients include: alpha-lipoic acid, chamomile, green tea, grapeseed, ginkgo biloba, melatonin, and vitamins C and E. Other effective ingredients frequently found in natural moisturizers include oils derived from herbs, fruits, vegetables, and nuts. These include: coconut oil, and macadamiam nut oil. Look in your natural products store for products which are "dual purpose," that is, those which not only moisturize, but serve as a sunscreen, too. Also, if clay-based masks are part of your beauty regimen and your skin tends to be dry, in the winter especially, be sure to choose masks featuring moisturizing and conditioning ingredients especially designed for dry skin.Another factor particularly drying to skin and hair are artificial indoor heat sources. Furnaces tend to dry up moisture in the air, and even draw moisture from our skin. To overcome this drying effect, many professionals suggest using humidifiers to put moisture back in the air. This can be accomplished as cheaply as setting out pans or kettles of water or keeping water in sinks and tubs. A more costly, yet very effective, investment is a room humidifier. An especially good room to humidify is the bedroom, since we spend so much time there, and so that we are getting the maximum benefit while we rest.Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize this winter....

Overcoming fear

Overcoming fear© 2008 Robin TrambleHave you ever been hindered by a fear of success (or a fear of failure)?Have you ever received news that seemed to immobilize you with fear?Fear tried to grip me when I was awakened at 2:30 in the morning by my daughter's voice with these words "mom, I can't see!." Well, she recovered and my daughter , my family and I overcame the fear, doubt and unbelief.Faith is the opposite of fear. Doubt and fear are the cousins.People everywhere are beginning to live in a state of fear. There is good fear and bad fear. Fear was also designed to warn us and protect us from certain things, however, for the most part people become in bondage to the negative fear. What is fear?Fear is an emotional response to threats and danger. It is a basic survival mechanism occurring in response to a specific stimulus, such as pain or the threat of pain. You can begin to overcome fear by following a few of the keys below.1) Recognize fear as the following acronym: False – Evidence – Appearing – RealUsually we fear the outcome of the unknown. The evidence that is presented beforeyou is not necessarily truth. So it is key to know that it is only the way it appears, it is an illusion so to speak. We have somehow allowed ourselves to believe that it is real.2) Identify the source of your fear: Where does your fear stem from? Do you find yourself becoming bound by fear when facing new tasks? Could this be a result of the negative responses you received when coming up in response to your failures? Do you become bound by fear when you approach certain types of relationships? Does fear try to grip you when in confrontational situations at work? Identifying the source of your fear plays a key role in overcoming your fears.3) Develop courage: Courage, also known as bravery, will, intrepidity, and fortitude, is the ability to confront fear, pain, risk/danger, uncertainty, or intimidation. You can see by the definition that courage is very important to develop when learning to overcome your fears. You cannot be passive when dealing with fear. You must confront it head on. You must do as the last key listed below andthat is to continue in the face of fear.4) Continue in the face of fear: You must acknowledge that Fear is a spirit.2 Timothy 5:7 states “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. When you realize that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind, you can continue in the face of fear. You must face it head on.Be empowered through your union with Father God, embrace the power that it ours. Put on love and receive a sound mind. This will help you to counteract fear and continue.5) Build your confidence: A lack of confidence only fuels the spirit of fear. Learn strategies for building your confidence. The more confident you are the more you will be able to face fear head on and you can also begin to embrace courage.Fear will immobilize us, steal our destiny, health and relationships. Fear empowers us to FAIL. Faith is just the opposite. Live by faith and begin to enjoy a life of freedom, freedom from a lifestyle of fear.Utilize the above keys to overcoming your fears. Don’t read them, but select one to focus on and write it down. Think about some actions you can take to bring life to the key chosen. Write them down and at weeks end update with your progress. These are just a few suggested keys to overcoming your fears.Visit here to access a free resource to aid in your effort in overcoming fear.http://www.robintramble.com/Teleseminarschedule.htmlFree eBook 15 POWERFUL tips towards boosting self esteem and confidenceWhat’s holding you back from achieving all you desire? How would you like to see some of your dreams come true in under a year?Robin Tramble is your empowering, mentoring, Trainer/Coach. A Dog is An Entrepreneur's Best Friend!

Pets are wonderful stress relievers for the weary entrepreneur. As a life coach, I can't think of a simpler health and wellness strategy than simply holding a dog in your lap and petting it. Or coming home to a dog who is so happy to see you they almost turn inside out.At any rate, I really just wanted to show off my new puppy, Twinkle, who received her first really professional grooming today. The one at one of the pet store chains was so awful - I wound up not paying :)This new dog is a handful -- I definitely need to show her who is Alpha dog. And actually, "Are you a Twinkle or a Starr?" will be the title of an article I will be writing. Starr was my late dog's name. The good news is that under all the excessive chewing, nipping at my heels and general mischievousness, is a dog with the cutest little face. Twinkle is a Shih Tzu, by the way!Shhh, baby's sleeping now. She is tired from her grooming and walk afterwards!

Recession? Please Women are Still Shopping!

I was dropping my sister off at work on Black Friday around Midnight. She works at Body Products Store in the Mall. We were laughing and talking on our way there, discussing how the day would unfold, since the media continuously broadcasts that people's finances are limited (or have been rebudgeted for more necessary lifestyle things!) :P We're like wow, this is probably going to be a really different Christmas for many people. We’re thinking… okay, like - No gifts, cutbacks, only buy what you need and not what you really want....man, this is really overwhelming.. will Christmas ever be the same?? I thought I saw a black cloud hover over my truck, with red rain drops (that’s how daunting the thought was)PPPPPPaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhLEASE (please)We drive into the parking lot of the mall, it’s taped and coned off to redirect traffic, people are standing in lines wrapped around the building, drinking lattes, some in their pajamas, laughing, talking, acting in an orderly manner, spreading and exemplifying the holiday cheer… IT WAS PURE BLISS!!!You totally felt the Christmas “Shopping Spirit”. Recession? What recession? Women are still shopping, Living Life, Spending Money, and Accomodating the Lifestyle they desire to live at best.

My dear shopkeepers do not be dismayed. Life still goes on. People are still looking to connect with your business. Now let me get to paddling, cuz I see there’s a SALE up ahead! Are You Asking for the Business?

Meeting one-on-one with prospective clients can be an effective marketing tool, but you must do one important thing; don’t forget to ask for the business! The purpose of an in-person meeting is to establish trust, relationship and sincerity in a personal manner. As businesswomen we often enjoy the social aspect of talking with others so much that we often forget why we are meeting. To remedy this challenge, below are six ways to stay on track and get the business you deserve!1. Clarify why you’re meeting. When scheduling an appointment, make sure that the prospective client you are requesting a meeting with knows exactly why. It’s important that they don’t think they are coming to a social meeting.2. Know your prospect’s needs. If you don’t know the services or products your prospect needs, it’s important not to schedule a one-on-one meeting until you do. This should be done during the follow up call after you’ve provided information about your services/products.3. Prepare a short agenda. It’s important to maintain your focus with the help of a list of no more than 3 points you would like to share during your meeting. Writing your agenda on an index card or small notebook really can keep you on track.4. Don’t do all of the talking. Allow your prospect the opportunity to share information about their business and to ask questions they might have about your products or services.5. Ask the right questions. “How can I help you?”, “What can I do to gain your business?”, “How soon are you seeking to purchase this (name of your product)?”, “When would you like to get (name of your service) started?” Don’t allow fear to hold you back from asking for the business!.6. Save some time for socializing. Some communications experts say be polite and socialize first and ease into the sales part of your meeting. However, it can be awkward to socialize and then out of the blue break into the sales portion. By socializing last you both of you get a chance to relax and get acquainted with one another more and end the meeting in a comfortable and meaningful manner.Implement the above suggestions, ask for the business and see the difference in your one-on-one meetings!Trina NewbyWomen About Biz"If You're A Businesswoman, You Belong!"
