http://BusinessCreditAmerica.com 1-800-652-7157 Stop buying net30's and business credit services if you have bad credit.  hen you try to build up your business credit by purchasing net30's, trade lines, having corporate financials and taxes prepared as well as add ucc's to the company, you still are not guaranteed to get the funing you need to help your business.

Most banks and other lending instituions are insisting you do a personal guarantee or have enough assets to cover the loan.  Many of us, unfortunately don't have assets to cover the loan, however we can fix our personal credit to sign off for the loan.

Good credit Union helps people all the time to fix their personal credit and help them obtain loans upto $50k in cash funding under their personal credit.  Business Credit America builds the client a 3 to 5 year old shelf corp and pair it up with their personal credit to get them up to $100k in cash funding.

I understand many of us have been taught it's not necessary to use your personal credit to get funding under the business, however due to new rules and regulations with the financial institutions things have changed.  I try to encourage people to fix their personal credit first because they will be able to have access to many other opportunities.  They can buy a car with no money down, pay lower interest rates on loans for mortgages, and personal loans.

This Tax season fix your personal credit first and you'll have access to money all year long.

Change Requires Change

Does anyone remember D.O.S -- when there was no (computer) mouse?  I was working in downtown San Francisco at the time and I was really irritated that we, all of a sudden, had to switch to using a mouse.  My thought was . . . 'We have WordPerfect; we have a keyboard -- we're good.'  Well, reluctantly, I made it through the transition to Windows and Word.

10744090256?profile=originalResistance to change.  Resistance to change can be due to a number of things, including fear of the unknown and being comfortable with the way things are.  Unfortunately (or fortunately), you can't afford to have a 'business as usual' attitude.  This is not a time to settle, nor is it a time to be mediocre.  If you choose to remain the same, you'll definitely be left behind  . . . Circuit City, Blockbuster, the newspaper industry.  Change doesn't mean you have to give up your core values to buy into the latest fad, but you do need a paradigm shift.

Here's what you can do:

  • Take inventory. What's working; what can be improved; what is just taking up valuable space -- mind or physical.  What is it that's familiar, but really hasn't worked in years.
  • Embrace a new thought.  It all begins with mindset.   Decide you will take the necessary steps and use the available tools to move from where you are to where you need to be.
  • Make it a lifestyle/culture. When implementing something new, gradually incorporating it as a lifestyle is more effective than practicing it for a one-time event.  When the 'new' becomes an intricate part of your lifestyle/culture, it's easier to maintain.

Remember, change requires change. Change can be uncomfortable, but sometimes it's necessary.  The faster you embrace it, the faster you can move outside your comfort zone, which, by the way, is a great place to be!

What are you doing to embrace change?

10744092693?profile=originalSo everybody knows the Super Bowl is coming. I can see all the signs in my neighborhood - people lining up at the grocery stores for snacks, soda pop, chicken wings (my fav are the lemon pepper!).  Flags waving in yards.  Big screen TV boxes next to trash cans for Thursday pickup.

It's on.

Now I'm not going to try to sway you one way or the other on which team to hoot and holler for. In fact, I don't even know much about football (okay, I heard that...and yes, I am a proud American).  BUT what I do enjoy?

The commercials.

Even if you've never watched a Super Bowl game in your life, I bet you've seen the commercials.  Frankly, they're the best part of the whole celebration.  I always tell my husband, "call me when a commercial comes on!" ... then I head in to watch.  The New York Times says the Super Bowl is the biggest day of the year for advertising.

Ever thought about why?  I have - and I thought it might be fun to write about in terms of ways to create buzz for your business.  So here's a few tips on creating buzz Super Bowl Style:

Plan Ahead

Advertising companies start not just weeks, but months in advance.  It takes work to create a promotion campaign that will connect with the right audience and generate actual sales.  Right - at the end of the day, the commercials aren't there just for you to enjoy; they're meant to entice you to take up the offer.  It's about getting results in the form of sales.

Think about this with your next promotional campaign.  How much time are you putting into researching ways to reach your audience? What is the offer you're making and how will you measure success? Just because people "like" your posts, that's not always equivalent to dollars for your business.  Make the connection by planning your campaign well in advance.

Make It Connect

Remember the Darth Vader commercial for Volkswagen?  Hilarious and cute, right? It caught the attention of people watching because they could either see themselves as the boy pretending to be a famous character, or as the parents having fun watching their child play.  Viewers could connect with something in the ad.

When you create promotional campaigns, are you telling a story?  Does it tag something in the hearts, minds, or pockets of your audience?  What emotion are you trying to evoke?  Think about how your message connects through your marketing campaign.

Leak Information in Advance

Why share tidbits about your next program or event?  Why would you leak information before you're ready to deliver the product?  Because it works, says Fast Company in this recent article about pre-game content.

In the article, they talk about how  last year, 34 campaigns were released in some form or another on YouTube before the game. “Marketers saw the amount of buzz and views they were able to generate before the game even started, and realized that they can get much more out of their Super Bowl investment if they build a digital strategy around it,” says Suzie Reider, Head of Industry Development at YouTube.

That's pretty interesting, hunh?

What kind of buzz can you create?  You might not give away the entire program idea, but what if you shared a short tip series related to your topic?  How about a video teaser?

Think of creative ways to generate buzz for your business.  Even if you're not a football fan, you can work it Super Bowl style!

Content marketing is not just about saying something. It’s about saying what matters, both to you and those you want to serve. One goal that serves, both ends is “Thought Leadership“.

Thought Leadership, an admirable and attractive content marketing goal to set.

I mean, it sounds good, right? And you’re brilliant enough, no question.

But, thought leadership takes a certain commitment. A commitment to consistently say something important, sometimes controversial and the courage to be heard.

And to be honest, it carries a certain weight and power that frankly is scary and intimidating to a lot of business owners.

There’s a lot of talk about “King Content” these days and how you need a lot of it to attract and retain clients. However, it’s not until we can get over our fear of creating content for our online business in the first place, that we can achieve our goal to lead in thought.

Do You Fit the Profile of a Thought Leader?

@MarlaTabaka asks readers to examine this question in her Thought Leadership 2.0 article publishes on Inc.com.

“A thought-leader is someone who is willing to step into the spotlight and voice their points of view, innovative ideas, and potentially controversial opinions. He drives conversation and peppers the Internet and other outlets with his insights, ideas, and expertise. She inspires others to follow their dreams and teaches them to think big, solve problems, and face their fears.”

When it Comes to Thought Leadership,
Are You More Like Scrappy or Scooby?

This may seem a silly question, but I have three small boys at home and I think in cartoons, so allow me to humor you for a moment.

Now, in my experience, people respond one of two ways when it comes to stepping out in this way:

1. Scrappy Doo: Let me at em’ – Enthusiastically, Yes, I really want to do this, I just don’t have time or know where to start.

2. Scooby Doo: Fearfully & insecurely, I don’t really have anything important to say, who am I?

The first response is pretty easy to resolve. These people are ready to burst through the gate. Give them a little direction and the right tools and they’ll be influencing all over the place. If this is you, stop reading this and contact me right away so we can get you on the map.

But, their are a lot of people who respond out of fear. The irony is, they are leading in thought everyday in a quiet and safe way.

When I have conversations with people about their business, something magical happens. They are passionate, opinionated and unafraid to be heard. Their goal in the moment is to be helpful and informative. They tell stories to help me understand complex ideas and I leave the conversation feeling smarter and grateful for the opportunity to have met them. They “fit the profile”.

It’s content at it’s best. These are the stories the advice and conversations that need to be shared on real and virtual stages.

But all too often, these conversations are never had and the stories never told to the people who need to hear it the most. Your target audience.

Do I Have to Be a Thought Leader to be Successful?

Well, no. You can be successful without being a thought leader. But, your journey will be long and hard fought. Because, the truth is, there’s so much noise out there. There are so many people saying the same thing that prospects and customers can’t tell the difference.

So, I guess the question I’d ask you is, do you want to be THE CHOICE or just one of the best? If you answered the choice, then YES…It’s time to step into the spotlight!

Here are three questions to answer if you want to establish yourself as a leading voice and choice in your area of expertise:

  1.  What do competitors in your market do, that makes your prospects problem worse or more complicated?

  2. What questions “should” your prospects be asking? For example: If you are a health coach or practitioner, are they asking “How can I loose weight fast?”  when they should be asking “How can I loose weight quickly and healthily”?
  3. What types of content are you comfortable producing that you can commit to producing and promoting on a regular basis? Are you better at speaking than writing? Then maybe knocking out a weekly podcast may be the way to go. Do words pour out of you like a faucet? If so, write til your hearts’ content and post a weekly blog article or apply to be a guest author. The point is, don’t get caught up in what all the “gurus” tell you you should be doing. Start with what works best for you and create your own blueprint!

Hiring Vendors and Staying Sane

Got a special project, a special event?  Have you decided to hire some help?

10744091453?profile=originalYou will quickly discover that there are varying standards of excellence and performance.  Avoid drama trauma; do these 4 things.

  1. Clearly state the scope of work.  Make sure you thoroughly outline the areas the vendor will be responsible for.  This can serve as a guide for the work that will be completed and can also help in narrowing your search to those who have specific experience in these areas.

  2. Communicate expectations.  Openly share your thoughts and expectations of each section of the scope of work with the potential vendor so that there are no misunderstandings; everyone is on the same page.  Take a section/definition and ask the vendor, ‘What does this mean/look like to you?’  Clarify any differences and determine if you can comfortably continue with this vendor based on what you’re looking for and the outcome of this discussion.

  3. Ensure the person you’re hiring can actually do the work.   Not only should they be able to perform the tasks, but the work performance should be above par.  Sometimes you’ll come across those who say they can do a variety of things, but they may only be proficient in one or two areas.  Unless you’re hiring for an entry level, on-the-job training position, don’t hire a novice.Go beyond reference checks.  Both a Motel 6 and Ritz Carlton have a place for you to lay your head, but the experiences are totally different!  Ultimately, the outcome is a reflection of you, your business, and your brand. If the vendor is responsible for the overall look and feel, and the experience of the end user, make sure they can deliver.

  4. Make sure you are covered in the event of non performance.  After you’ve crossed the t’s, dotted the i’s, the final stroke is to make sure your contract with the vendor includes language that covers you in the event the vendor doesn’t perform.  Clearly lay out what will happen if the work is not completed per the written agreement and what recourse will be taken.

There you have it.  What have you done to successfully hire a vendor?

Why Debt Free?

When I’m not blogging, I manage the other family business; a coin-operated laundromat. The work is less than fabulous, but I spend an enormous amount of time with people – that I love. A brief conversation with a long-time customer (and previous employee…long story) landed on home ownership. I shared how we are selling a rental condo and looking to pick up a few more soon. This young man is a hard worker, looking for a larger place for his family, and a renter. He’d never considered buying until our conversation. Then it hit me. This is exactly why we’re so passionate about debt freedom. OPTIONS!!!

Renting is perfectly legitimate. Home ownership, and moreover being a landlord, is not for everyone. However, debt freedom affords you the option to choose. Harry Dent Jr., author of The Roaring 2000s, suggests that more millionaires got their start during the Great Depression than in any other time in our nation’s history. I totally understand why.

http://GoodCreditUnion.com 1-800-652-7157 Authorize Users(AU) used for credit score booster still works.  Piggy backing someones whole credit file is what's challenging these days.
Most of us don't realize how hard the financial industry was hit with all these regulations.  Because of that credit bureaus have made it challenging for people to repair their credit.  Yes, you still can use AU's to boost the credit score.  The piggy backing a whole credit file is the challenging part.

Let's talk about credit profile numbers(cpn) and secondary credit numbers(scn), as I stated in another video these 2 numbers are legal numbers.  However, you must make sure whom ever you retrieve these numbers from that they are not giving you an already existing number. such as a baby's ssn, an inmate or an deceased personhttp://BusinessCreditAmerica.com 1-800-652-7157

Confessions of a Grocery Store Snob

We are mid way through our New Year New You contest and a tip for Day #10 hits close to home.

Day 10: Shop Discount Grocers

I’m a Debt Free Diva, but I will admit, I was a bit of a grocery store snob. I judged stores by location and perceptions about the clientele served. I’m not proud.

After a recent (and hopefully temporary) reduction in household income, I was looking for additional ways to conserve cash. One of our largest variable expenses is groceries.

My grocery store is close, has a huge advertising budget, and is one of the more expensive chains available in the city. Did I say it was close? As a lark, I decided to try Aldi – the deep discount chain mainly available in less affluent communities. My grandma, on a fixed income, shops at Aldi. Pride aside, with a need to save money, I gave Aldi a try. To my snobbery surprise, the store was clean, the produce was fresh, and I saved nearly 35% over my normal spending total.

A Raise in 21 Days

We're convinced it takes 21 days to build a habit. Effective money management is a learned skill. Have you missed any Tips of the Day in our new push to Give Yourself a Raise in 21 Days? No problem. A recap is the best way to catch up.

Day 2: Know where it goes.

Tracking is essential to preparing a proper plan: your budget. Little things add up. Take a week to write down everything you spend. Add it up. The results just may surprise you.

Day 3: Post your budgets.

In the beginning, WonderMan and I would create fantastic, color coordinated, detailed budgets. We’d email them, marvel over the advanced, tabular-linking functionality (yes, we’re nerds), and then forget about it for the next two months (nerds with ADD). Once I stripped it down to relevant data, made it fit on one page, and posted that puppy on the fridge; we stuck with it. Keep your budget simple and make sure you see it on a regular basis.

Day 4:  Find a Money Buddy

An accountability partner can help keep you focused on your goals and pull your card when tempted to go rouge. Make sure this is someone who is fiscally responsible with enough chutzpah to apply tough love whenever needed.

Simple Savings Strategies

A savings fund is your best defense against forces that seek to derail your debt free momentum. Yes! Forces intent on keeping you mired in money mishaps, floundering in financial fiascos, or let’s face it – deep in debt are real. Alliterative exercises aside, a savings fund is a must have. It’s just not always an easy must do.

Before tackling a debt repayment plan, set up a Mad Money Fund. This fund should contain at least $1000 (depending on your comfort level). Some balk at the low figure, but consider your recent emergencies. Would $1000 have been sufficient? Don’t dread using the cushion in a genuine emergency. The Mad Money Fund exists so you avoid the madness when emergencies happen.

  1. Start your budget. The quickest way to give yourself a raise is to tell your money where to go. You do that with a budget.
  2. Setup auto saving. Redirect money to your savings using automatic tools. You don’t miss what you don’t see.
  3. Sell everything. What are you hoarding that can be converted into cash? Ebay. Craig’s List. Garage Sale. Clean house and build your savings.
  4. Stash windfalls. Do you have a lump some coming? Instead of spending before you receive, plan on using that to pad your savings.
  5. Seek extra income. Do you have a marketable service? Hire yourself out. Secure part-time income and save up.

Trying to pay off debt without a savings stash is like filling a leaky bucket. Eventually, frustration may cause you to give up completely. The Mad Money Fund will help you avoid using credit so emergencies don’t derail your debt repayment plans.

Do you have other simple savings strategies to share?

Black Girlz Talk

Black Girlz Talk

Coming soon is a web based talk show, Black Girlz Talk. Our goal is to showcase African American women in a positive light. In the meantime, check out some of our articles. This quarter topic is relationships.

Why is it so hard to find a good man?

We often complain about the difficulties we face when searching for Mr. Right.  It’s not enough good men in the world.   No one can live up to my standards.  All men are dogs.  He is a male gold-digger.  All men cheat.  I’ve heard it all. Blah. Blah. Blah.  Stop dating the same man over and over again.  If you want change, you have to do something about it. I know that most people don’t like stepping outside of their comfort zone. But remember what do you call a person that keeps doing the same thing and expects different results? Insane.

I’ve talked to a lot of single women that are carrying baggage from one relationship to another.  I tell everyone you can’t give someone your all until all your doors have been closed.  Just like the airlines only one free small checked bag, leave the rest at the gate.  When you get to a point where you are ready to date, take your time and proceed with caution. There are still some good men in the world, but here are a few of my favorite Mr. Wrongs:

The computer love

The computer love is the guy with the cute pictures on Match.com, Blackplanet, and Facebook. Based on your profiles you are a match made in heaven.  This is the person you are secretly obsessed with but too scared to tell your girlfriends because you don’t want to be judged.  So you go by yourself to meet him for the first date, but guess what. He looks nothing like his picture.  You respectfully say, “You look different in your pictures.”  He explains it was a picture of him 75 pounds ago. You laugh it off, but deep down inside you feel played.

Mr. out of my league

Let’s keep it real. It may be easy to catch a fish, but it hard to keep it from slipping out of your hand. This is the man that is out of your league.  He has himself together and searching for someone to compliment him.  How can you keep this winner if you have nothing to offer?  Looks get old, but substance is priceless.

The pretender

The pretender is the guy who pretends to be whatever you want him to be: the church boy who can’t quote a scripture, the entrepreneur whose credit score is 300, and the man who claims to love his momma but refers to every woman that has pissed him off as the b word.  This is the type of man that completely loses himself when he dates.  Who wants a man that has no self-identity?

Mr. Married to my job.

A man can’t give you his all until he is satisfied with himself.  He has to feel like he can love, honor, cherish and take care of you.  Don’t date someone who does not have time for you.  Ladies, you can’t change him. Keep it moving.

I’m single but married.

Ladies, just because a man says he is single doesn’t mean he is divorced.  Don’t play yourself.  Dating a married man is like working a dead end job with no opportunity for advancement.  Nobody wants to work a dead end job! Everyone deserves to move up the ladder.

Mr. Illusionist.

This is the man that gives you the illusion that he is perfect.  When you first meet him, it is love at first sight. He has great looks, dressed to the nines, expensive car, good job and the gift of gab meaning he can talk any woman out of her panties.  If something looks too good to be true, it probably is.  Therefore, it is important to take time to get to know a person before you fall victim to the illusion.  If you give up your goods to early, you miss a lot of red flags.  Take your time. It can save a lot of heartache.

Now, I know you are asking what can I do to put an end to this dating curse.  The answer is to get yourself together and do a little soul searching.  Instead of evaluating ourselves, we point the finger at everyone else.  One of my teachers used to say if you point one finger, you have four pointing back at you.  As women, we often settle for the sake of not being alone.  This usually leads to trouble. Remember, the first step to self- improvement is to love yourself flaws and all.

Take a moment and look in mirror.  What do you see?  Why are you scared of being alone?  Are you where you want to be in life?  Can you stand on your own two feet?  Are you comfortable in your own skin?  Do you have your finances in order?  Are you open to try new things?  Are you ready to be in a relationship?  Do you have time to give someone your all?  Are your standards set to high? Are you really five karat worthy?  Are you wife material?  After you answer these questions, create a game plan on how to be the best you.  Determine the areas that need work and make improvements.  No one is perfect.  It’s time for you to become Mrs. Right so you can stop attracting Mr. Wrong.

I had the opportunity in reading “You Will Win If You Don’t Quit” by Yolanda Moore 2X WNBA Champion (Houston Comets) former Fox Sports Basketball Analyst, Mother, Student, Author and Bus...inesswoman. Her mission is to help woman face obstacles in reaching one’s destiny.

Yolanda has formulated a step-by-step teaching plan in helping to set attainable goals and very open about her own issues (self-esteem, depression, raising children as a single mom, medical issues, and uncertainty), like a lot of women her book is relative to the same issues that we face sometimes as women. Her power was not in winning, she became empowered by not quitting.

Her story will empower, inspire, encourage that winning attitude; dreams do come true even with obstacles along the way. A suggested reading, ABSOLUTELY..!!..When you get the opportunity to speak with Yolanda, you will understand.
