Top 4 Businesses to Start in 2013

2013 is just around the corner. And as we approach this time to declare a “New Year, New You”, this is a great time to do something new, do something different, and actually take the steps to start a business. Contrary to popular belief, you do not have to have specific education or thousands of dollars to invest in a business that will thrive and last beyond the dreaded 3 year failure mark. The following 4 business types are all businesses that have been deemed the “top” businesses to start in 2013 as their industries are growing.

1. Organic Food- Perhaps with help from the FLOTUS Michelle Obama with her “Let’s Move” Campaign, organic food sales are rising. People are starting to care more about the quality of food they consume and prepare for their family. The organic food industry is a growing industry that will continue growing into 2013. If you are someone who loves organic food, good with creating recipes or interested in growing it, this would be a great industry in which to start a business. Get more information here about the certifications and accreditations needed to get started. ORGANIC FOOD CERTIFICATION

Average Start-Up Costs: $500-$1000

2. Cosmetics- Always a popular product, natural cosmetics are going to be big in 2013. Women... well, people are going away with Botox and chemical peels, etc. They are looking for more natural ways to maintain a youthful appearance. There are several ways you can start a cosmetics company:

A.You can join a company already established and be their walking advertisement by wearing and sharing their products. Companies like Mary Kay, Seacret, Xango and Rodan+Fields are reputable companies with proven natural products.

Average Start-Up Costs: $100 - $1000

B. You can create your own cosmetic products. Of course your investment will be much more, but at the end, the product will be your own brand. To start a cosmetic line of quality may average you $40,000 and more. Don’t get me wrong, there are places where you can start your own for much less but if you want to stay in business, the money is worth it or go with option number A. Start Your Own Cosmetic Line Option

Average Start-Up Costs: $40,000+

3. Ecommerce –,,, and are just a few great resources for selling products like clothing, jewelry, electronics, books, music, vintage stuff, etc. People sell all kinds of things through these resources. All you need is a camera, even cell phone, to take pictures of stuff you are selling and set it up.

Average Start-Up Costs: $0 - $100

4. Affiliate Marketing- According to CNBC is the “best online small business idea of 2013”. The affiliate, internet, network marketing business model will see an increase of business owners. Several reasons for this is because training is free and unlimited and there is a great potential to generate a substantial income with residual options (money that continues to generate even if you do not work that month). Best companies to start are companies just starting, that do not have a saturated field of marketers. You just need a computer and an out of the box product. New Millenium Business

Average Start-Up Costs: $25 - $200

Of course these are only a few options for businesses to start. There are plenty other and if you put forth hard work in anything it is bound to succeed. Divine Solutions For Skincare

When It comes to organic skin care, using fruits and vegetables during your cleansing routine has become commonplace

Using organically grown fruits and vegetables such as ginger, apple and papaya, have proven to have positive skin care results. They have proven most effective when it comes to repairing damaged skin and moisturizing dry skin. Almost every skin care guide has a section on organic skin care, including the actions of various fruits and vegetables on skin. So choose the ones that are more suitable for your skin type and start experimenting with them until you finally select the ones that are most suitable for inclusion in your organic skin care routine. It’s important that you use fresh organic fruits/vegetables. Don’t try to utilize the rotten ones for your skin, their only place is in the garbage. Milk is known to posses good cleansing properties; in fact, the name of some skin care products contains the word ‘milk’ in them. A combination of milk with ground oatmeal acts as wonderful cleanser.
Divine Nature™ recommends using goat milk for luxurious results. Ground oatmeal is especially good for oily skins and is a popular ingredient in organic skin care regimen. It is used in various combinations e.g. with egg, honey, milk and fruits, for preparation of organic facial packs. Another organic element to consider for your skin care regime is wheat germ. Because it is blessed with high amounts of vitamin E, it can aid in moisturizing the skin and help to remove dead skin cells. In addition to oatmeal, wheat germ and it’s by product, wheat germ oil, are often ingredients found in organic skin treatments used to moisturize and exfoliate facial skin. Other organic sources for removing dead skin cells and helping the skin to retain its moisture are yogurt and sour cream. Organic honey is well known for its effectiveness when it comes to an organic skin care regime. Honey contains natural properties that aid in moisture retention. In addition, using honey adds a healthy glow to your skins appearance.

Live a life of Self-care

What is a Self Caring Lifestyle?Self Care is exactly what it sounds like. It is the caring for self. It's not being selfish. It's being aware of the fact that you can't give what you don't have. If you have no sense of self and how to love on self than how do you expect to give it to others. I had to learn this. I put all my time and effort into my children and my family that I took no time to just work on me. This made me stressed out, irritable and just not the joyful person that God wants and expects me to be. It carries over into every aspect of your life. It's a journey not to go back, but well worth it. When you are being your best then you can give your best. You're a better mother, a better mate, friend, sister; you are just a better person.Self care is about more than tending to the physical, which can be getting your hair or nails done. It's about more than grooming. Self care emcompases the Mind, Body, and Spirit. When you choose to take part in activities that nurture, renew and fortify all three of these elements of self, than you are not only practicing but living a Self Caring Lifestyle. Self Care takes care of the inside as well as the outside, it's a lifestyle not a hobby. We'll take a further look at what needs to be present and the steps we can take to begin our journey to a Self Care Lifestyle.Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NIV)Imagine Life...Be Empowered...Live on Purpose!DaphneYour Self-care Sistah / Lifestyle

Facts about Organic Body Products

When shopping for personal care products, there is an amazing array of bath and body products for your choosing. The labels scream "organic", "natural", "made with organic ingredients" and the like. You certainly want to choose the best for your health and your family's health, so your question may be, "What's the difference?" Read on for the facts about organic body products.1. The FDA (Federal Department of Agriculture) does not regulate or define the term "organic" in reference to personal body care products. In other words, the government does not certify organic body care products as "officially organic" but they do regulate the ingredients that are contained within that body product.2. In order to be certified organic, the product must be made up of organic agricultural ingredients (such as cocoa butter, shea butter, herbs and oils). In addition, the way in which the ingredients are produced, the handlers of these ingredients and manufacturer of the final product must be certified by an organic certifying agent who is USDA accredited. (Water and salt are excluded from the ingredients.)There are several levels of certification for these organic body products:4. A product which is labeled as "100 percent organic" indicates that the product includes only organically produced ingredients. These products carry a USDA Organic Seal and display the certifying agent's name and address.5. A product which is labeled "organic" should contain at least 95% organic ingredients and the remaining percentage of the ingredients must be on the approved National List of approved substances organic products. These organic body products will display the USDA organic seal as well as the certifying agent's name and address.6. "Made with organic ingredients" indicates that the particular product contains at least 70% organic ingredients. These products cannot carry the USDA organic seal but must display the certifying agent's name and address.7. An "organic body product" with less than 70% organic ingredients cannot use the term "organic" on the main label. They should not carry the USDA seal, nor the certifying agent's name/address.Understand that while the USDA does regulate agricultural ingredients that go into the organic body products, they do not regulate and have no authority over the labeling or production of products that do not utilized agricultural ingredients. Which basically means if that mascara you're buying claims to be "organic" it's most likely is not. In addition, be aware that the organic body products that you may purchase in the store might also be certified by private agents that are not connected with the USDA and thus are subject to private standards, not the government's.Hopefully, this information will assist you in making an informed choice when you visit the personal care product section of your local store.Founded on the principles of natural skin and body care, neosoul.essentials, llc carries all natural, preservative free products for bath and body.
