I have always believed and shared that each of us has a path to follow and if we follow that path we can not fail. Since I have put that into practice, it has been an amazing journey. I started out as a blogtalk radio host and then went on to have a show on Internet Radio and from there to having my own 24 hour, 365 days a year Internet Radio Station.. It is so true that networking helps you get to where you want to go, even if your not exactly sure where that is. This is where the path comes in. All I really know is that I wanted to help people, because helping others is the real secret. I have always been taught from a child on ( and it has proven true time and time again ) that if you help others you really help yourself and doesn't it make the world a more beautiful place when we help each other?

I help the Independent Musical Artists, Author, Spoken Word Artist and Poet get the word out about themselves and their projects as well as the the business owner get the word out about their business, product or service. Does The Author Have A Voice In The eBook Debate

As publishers and booksellers debate the usefulness of electronic reading devices, along with who is benefiting the most and how are book sells being affected; owners of these devices are becoming increasing concerned over the price they will pay for ebooks. Precedence seems to have been set, that ebooks should cost little or nothing at all.

An author pens a novel, which takes time, creativity, and in some cases, money out of their pocket to produce and market. For some it is their lively hood, and for others it is just a hobby. Along comes the eBook that is designed to cut cost, in terms of material and other publishing costs, and some may see it as a quick way to make extra income. The focus quickly turned from the book itself to how certain entities can profit from the downloads. Soon after we had software such as the Kindle and the Nook. The central target became selling the devices and whatever happens with the books, so be it.

When I released my first novel, “He Loves Me He Loves Me Not!” I had no real knowledge of ebooks. As I began to see writers selling their work for .99 cents, a $1.99, etc, I thought it was crazy. Why would I take something I poured me heart and soul into producing and then practically give it away? A couple of authors even provided me with free downloads, asking that I read their work and provide them with feedback. I must admit, I couldn’t read the work because I’m old-fashioned and love actual books. Even when Steve Harvey’s “Act Like A Lady Think Like A Man” showed up in my inbox (which is another topic in itself), I couldn’t sit at the computer and read it. And printing these books seemed to defeat the purpose. Then someone reached out to me and suggested offering my title on Kindle. I did some research and decided, why not. Within days I had sold several downloads and over the past year they continue to trickle in one by one.

Now, I rarely promote my Kindle books. I list on my sites, in newsletters, and if I see someone with a device I share literature on my work, letting it be known that my books are available for download. Recently, I received some information on an author who has had great success with her Kindle books. I read the article and was impressed by her numbers. Her debut novel had thousands of ebook downloads, which ultimately increased her physical book sales. This heightened my interest, and I began to search the net for other success stories to see how authors were marketing their ebooks, since the article did not say. What I discovered is that authors, especially little known ones, are selling their work for less than $2.00. However, they are still finding themselves in competition with the big publishing houses who are giving books away for free. I hear Amazon does not allow independent writers to offer free ebooks. Hhmm, maybe I need to have a sale on my ebooks to see how I do, maybe offer them for $1.99 for a limited time.

All of this sounded like a good idea, I guess, when the popularity of these reading devices was low, but now that sells have increased, and physical books are taking a dive, someone has finally realized that maybe free or low-cost isn’t always better. I was on the web today and owners of these devices were voicing concern that publishers are now delaying the release of ebooks until physical books have been on the market for several weeks and reached a threshold, and others were upset to see the electronic book version at a price comparable to the physical copies. It’s kind of reminiscent of when the hardcover book was released and you had to wait for the paperback, which was less expensive. These conversations, however, did not support the notion that a person who buys an ebook may later purchase a physical book. Ebook readers, from what I can tell are happy with their reading devices and even happier with the very low prices of these books, not to mention you can’t beat free.

Reading various blogs and comments reaffirmed my initial concern about ebooks, which is, where do the author fit in. If there was no author, there would be no books to read. So why it is that author’s are not being seriously considered in the debate. No one seems to care if the author is paid for their work, or how much. Is it because there is a misconception that authors are paid a great deal up front for their work, regardless if they sell or not? And what about the independent writer who bares all the expense of getting their work out and into the hands of readers; is this the price they must pay, as one article put it, to gain notoriety and let people know they exist. Or, is there a misunderstanding in terms of royalties paid on ebooks? Some say that the royalty is higher. This may be true but keep in mind; royalties are a percentage of the price of the book, the lower the price the lower the royalty, meaning the author must now pray for larger sells volumes. As this debate continues I would love to see more consideration paid to the author. We know the majority of us will not retire off of book sells alone, but we still want to be a part of the decisions being made, based off the work we produce.

1. Take 100% Responsibility for Your Life – In a society where people blame everything from their parents to the government for failure, those who don’t buy into this mentality or succumb to the “victim” thinking succeed. To blame something or somebody outside yourself is saying they have control of your life and not you. Someone else’s opinion of you doesn’t have to become your reality.


2. Live Your Life On Purpose - What separates motivational thinkers from the unsuccessful is that they believe they’re doing what they were put here to do. The difference between this and just living, is that the latter is just getting through the week with the least problems. But when you live your life on purpose, your main concern is doing the job right. For the entrepreneur this means finding a cause you believe in and building your business around it.


3. Be Willing to Pay the Price - Be willing to pay the price for your dreams. Wanting a big house, a luxury car, and a million dollars in the bank is all very nice, and everyone wants these things – but are you willing to pay the price to get them? This is one of the major differences between the successful and unsuccessful.


4.Stay Focused – Every day we’re bombarded with hundreds of tasks, phone calls, messages, and everyone competing for our time. Focusing requires giving up something in the present because you are investing your time in something that will pay off big-time down the road. Jack Canfield and Mark Hanson were turned by 30 publishers when they submitted the first “Chicken Soup for the Soul” book. Instead of giving up, they stayed focused on their goal and did four or five interviews per day for radio, TV, and newspapers, for five days a week for a whole year. Eventually, a small publisher decided to take a chance, and of course now it’s a best-seller that spawned an entire series that have sold more than 10 million copies.


5.Become An Expert in Your Field - One striking factor all successful people have in common is how seriously they take their profession. They strive to be the best at what they do, and do almost anything to improve. If someone followed you around all day with a video camera at your business, would it be a tape you’d be proud of or embarrassed about? Make the decision today to work at being the best in your field. How? By finding out what the “best” in your field are doing, and do what they do.


6.Write Out a Plan for Achieving Your Goals - Write out an action plan/map for how you’re going to achieve your goals. Trying to reach your goals without a plan is like trying to drive from South Carolina to Chicago without a map. A goal that isn’t written down is merely a wish or fantasy.


7.Never Give Up - Never, never, never give up. When you’re fully committed to achieving your goal, giving up is not an option. You must be willing do whatever it takes to make it happen. The power of perseverance is an awesome force. As someone once said, “inch by inch it’s a cinch”. Think of the lowly inchworm – if it pondered the length of the trip from start to finish before it started, it probably would never move. To a worm’s point-of-view, the garden path must look like a trip to Mars. Never give up! Keep on going like the Energizer bunny, and pretty soon you’re there.


8. Don’t Delay - Nobody knows how much time they have left to accomplish their dreams, and we must remember that we don’t have forever. The clock is ticking, and sooner or later your number comes up and you’re gone. Successful achievers know this too, but they don’t view it as a “negative”. Achievers use it to “spur them on”. They go after what they want as energetically and as passionately as possible, for as long as they have.


I had a friend who used to say, “Today is a check – cash it! Yesterday is an I.O.U. – forget it! Tomorrow is a promissory note, don’t bank on it!” I think that’s a pretty good summation of life, so go out there and cash in on that “today” check.

Q: What is your most pressing question where it concerns your

personal, spiritual and business empowerment?

A: Transitioning from my old self, with those limiting beliefs, to who I truly am.

The first place you want to begin is what I call awareness. In this step
you need to take inventory of your limiting beliefs. You can identify them
without placing them in categories and after you've identified some of them
you can then categorize them in the money, education, career, faith and
other category. Don't get too caught up on this simply jot down what comes
to mind.

Why do you have those limiting beliefs?

What steps can you add that will assist you in overcoming your limiting
beliefs?

Another key factor is your mindset. I won't go deep into this, however,
a lot of our success is sabotaged by our mindset and you would do good
to discover what your mindset is and make the necessary shifts.

You can do this on your own or enlist the help of a coach such as myself
who are equipped with various tools and experience to support you in
this endeavor.

In order to know where you're going you must know where you are.
This is also true where it concerns evolving to who you truly are.
Make sure you are clear on who you are. What are your core values?
What is your purpose? Vision?

All of the above will support your endeavor towards transitioning from
your old self to who you truly are.

Easter Celebration (Resurrection Sunday) No greater love!


Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13

When you think of love what comes to mind? What emotions do you experience?
Based on your history with this area you may become anxious, discouraged,
experience discomfort or you may experience joy, a sense of peace etc.

If you're reading this and you haven't experienced the love of my Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ, I want to introduce you to a great love, excuse me the
greatest love.

In Corinthians the 13th chapter we read that love believeth all things,
hopeth all things, love never fails. This describes our Lord and yet it
is an example of how we should love.

The only way this is possible is to receive God's love.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever
believeth on Hiim should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

There is no GREATER love!

As we draw closer to the Easter Holiday think on the love of Jesus our Lord.
Go the extra mile to show love in your relationships.

Let this be the most beautiful celebration ever in memory of our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ's love. There is truly no greater love.

All you need to do is confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and

I would like to thank the businesses and nonprofit organizations that attended the 30 Second Commercial at The Lounge. We had an awesome time. We heard some great commercial and received informative tips.

What is your 30 second commercial? What introduction do you use at networking events, that creates interest and response?

If you are like most people you are shaking your head thinking, "Oh no! Not that 30 second commercial lecture again."

It's true most of hate sitting down to write them, they confuse us, baffle us, and well just seem like the most challenging part of networking. We never feel like it's creative enough or professional enough. We want it to be clever, but intriguing.

If you can GRAB the attention of your prospect at a networking event with your 30 second commercial you've opened the door to begin asking qualifying questions. Within seconds Selling your business gets EASIER. With the right 30 second commercial you no longer have to find a way to introduce your business it just comes natural.

The objective of your 30 second commercial is to have 15 to 30 seconds of information that informs someone with the following information:

· Who are you?

· Who is your company?

· What does your company do?

· How can you help?

· Why your prospect should act now?[/li[

Seems easy, yes? Unfortunately it's where we all screw up. Take for example the following commercial:

"Hi my name is Laura Schneider, I am CEO/President of ZealSpin, Inc. We are an Interactive marketing company. We show companies how to integrate their offline and online marketing."

What am I missing here? Does this message get your attention? Does it give my prospect an open ended question to move them to the next level of conversation? No it's missing key components to make it powerful and effective, so let's see how we can improve it.
