Starters failures aren't very common these days, thanks to fuel injection. Engines start right up in cold weather, and don't require a lot of cranking of the engine. This has cutdown on the seasonal rise of starter replacement. The Primary failure of starters are overloading and overheating. If an engine won't start for whatever reason (no fuel, bad gas, no spark or compression), on a continous basis, the starter can overheat and fail. If your vehicle doesn't start in thirty-seconds, stop and wait before cranking again.Cranking problems can be caused by many factors. They include low battery, loose or corroded battery cables, broken or missing ground strap, a weak starter solenoid, a bad starter drive, a missing tooth on the vehicle's flywheel, starter misalignment, loose, corroded or damaged wiring in the starter circuit, a faulty ignition switch, a mechanical problem inside the engine, or even the wrong oil weight. The starter, battery, and wiring are apart of the starting system. Should your vehicle not start or make a clicking noise, check the state of the battery. A good starter will usual crank an engine the engine at 250 to 500 rpm, and draw 60 to 150 amps. If the battery checks out okay, check the cable connections, followed by checking fuses and relays. There maybe other factors on a no-start. But, start with the basics when checking. If a starter does fail, it the fault will be found mostly from the mechanical parts rather than electrical.Happy Motoring

A Bird’s Eye View on Wedding Dresses

A Bird’s Eye View on Wedding DressesHow this Photographer sees it

The Wedding dress is one of the most important details of the day. Everyone wonders “what is the bride wearing”? “What is she going to look like”? Therefore having seen hundreds of wedding dresses as the owner of a photography business I wanted to give some thoughts and advice that I hope will be considered regarding this most photographed item on the wedding day.Let’s start with that trip to the bridal salon, I recently spoke at a seminar and mentioned that mothers are probably not the best person for the bride to take when shopping for her wedding gown unless mom is a fashion icon and she knows a lot about wedding dresses. I felt like that woman in the bible who had just been caught in the act of adultery, I really thought I was going to be stoned to death, a few of the mothers in that room were more than a little annoyed with me. .My point simply was that mothers are often driven by emotions, this after all is their baby getting married and they may be a bit overwhelmed by all of the details involved in selecting the one item that sets the Maybe your mom didn’t have the wedding of her dreams but wants that for you; it is only natural that she will be a touch emotional, mom may not see that her daughter may spend the big day looking like a gigantic wedding cake, or a throw back from the Victorian era. stage for this big dayAdditionally the bride is often under enormous pressure to make others happy and may not have the intestinal fortitude it takes to stand up to mom and say I don’t want this, especially if mom and dad are shelling out any of the money for the wedding.Obviously not every dress looks great on every one, you must consider your height, weight, complexion, hair & eye coloring when you make this significant purchase. Would your body type look great in a strapless dress or a ball gown? Would your skin coloring favor white, ivory or eggshell or another color? Do you like beading if so how much? What about lace? What about the fabric? Chiffon or satin? What fabric works best for you? Trying on several different styles of wedding gowns, made by a variety of manufacturers can give you a great sense of what is available in the market place. The things I havementioned are but a few of the many considerations in selecting this garment. Finally you may have to make alterations make sure to ask the bridal salon what they can and cannot do. You must be precise and specific about what must be done to avoid very costly mistakes especially in the area of alterations. Brides go alone, or take a very trusted friend not the whole crew of screaming girlfriends with you to the bridal salon. You may also keep in mind that loved ones and friends won’t want to hurt your feelings about how you look as you try on your wedding gown. You may also keep in mind that loved ones and friends won’t want to hurt your feelings about how you look as you try on your wedding gown. A quick note most salons have a sales staff that will give good advice but keep in mind that the salon is in business to make money.Don’t make the decision in a hurry; don’t buy the first thing you try on, and for heaven’s sake don’t just try on one dress. When selecting your wedding dress also consider the season of your wedding. A sleeveless dress in February in Aspen probably won’t cut it, so don’t forget the time and season of the year. Best wishes on finding the dress that best represents who you are on that all important day.Go to the shop when you’re restedGo when the shop is slow, take a day off work if necessary, Friday evenings and Saturdays are almost always busy and you may not get the kind of service you requirePlease have the right undergarments when you go, most shops have the proper bras but it would be worth the investment for you to buy one for the purpose of trying on gownsOnce you make the decision on the dress come prepared to put a deposit on the gown.Other Points for Great Wedding Day Photos:Rest the night before the wedding puffy eyes show in photosGet a great makeup artistGet something to eat; a hungry bride is not a happy brideHire a wedding planner at least for the day of, stress really does show in photosRelax and have a great day! This article provided by Carla Rein of MorningStar Photography to reach MorningStar go towww.morningstarphotography.com

Expert Wedding Photographer Balks at the Idea of a Lack of Diversity in Wedding IndustryMorningstar Photography Says Black, Indian and Asian Women Get Married Too

Columbia, MD (BlackNews.com) - While weddings are their expertise, many major celebrities and notables such as baseball Hall of Famer Dwight Gooden, iconic anchorman Roger Mudd, Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele, Congressman Elijah Cummings, and Hollywood producer Cleveland O'Neil have all found their way in front the lens of a MorningStar photographer. While serving every possible client MorningStar has broken away from the herd and focused primarily on the ethnic client. "There is an assumption out there that Black, Indian and Asian women don't get married as frequently as everyone else, it may be statistically true but it is not borne out by the people who come to us."Gone are the days of the couple looking longingly into each other's eyes. Today MorningStar Photography focuses on the nuances of the wedding day: mothers who cry, bridesmaids who aren't always happy at the altar, an engagement ring on the heel of a bride's shoe, a bride's expression as her sorority sisters wish her the best for her future. These are the memories that make each wedding unique, and that MorningStar strives to capture.Focusing on ethnic weddings as a niche market has allowed MorningStar to blaze a trail in the past ten years producing eye-popping images for the client, no matter who they are. High end boutique photography is available for the senator's daughter as well as the sanitation worker's daughter. MorningStar has spectatcular packages for almost every budget. While MorningStar focuses on a diverse clientele, the owners of this company also represent the America that Barack Obama hopes for and would be most proud of. Alan Rein, a Jewish man, and his wife, Carla, who was born in Trinidad, are the driving force behind the day-to-day operations of this small, hands-on, thriving enterprise. The Reins know diversity because they live it in their everyday lives.Carla commented "We don't do fast food photography, it takes time and patience to create beautiful images. It's the eye behind the lens that matters most, not a photographer's ability to Photoshop."MorningStar Photography recently did a showcase at the Gathering Place in Clarksville, MD where potential clients were able to view MorningStar's immense catalog of work.MorningStar can be reached directly at www.morningstarphotography.com or to schedule an appointment with MorningStar simply call in the Balto-DC Metro area 410-730-7515 or 1-888-294-1417 toll free. At a time when the world is reeling from the worst financial collapse since the Great Depression, most people are experiencing an economic recession that will undoubtedly have an impact on their lives in 2009. Each day we hear about companies failing, industries needing government assistance, retailers struggling, increased joblessness, housing foreclosures, and more. Even more overwhelming and frustrating are our daily thoughts, feelings and activities that revolve around a busy schedule, a stalled business, a stressful job, a contract that ended unexpectedly or didn’t materialize, the rumors of job layoffs, an unfulfilled relationship, a pending divorce, the memories of an unresolved past, a medical condition, a mountain of bills, and so much more. All of which have the potential to stifle our desires and intentions to implement and/or sustain healthier lifestyle habits. So, how do you plan to address your desire to live healthier in the midst of a life full of hassles, demands, obligations, and uncertainty? Which lifestyle habits will you try to spend more time on? What will you decrease spending on to live healthier? As you began to sift through those thoughts and feelings about how your life has been and will be impacted by the state of the world and your personal circumstances, and those actions you intend to modify in 2009, don’t put off evaluating those related to healthier lifestyle habits. It’s no secret that when you have so many feelings, thoughts, interests, and activities vying your attention, the idea of exercising or eating healthier will inevitably and continuously be placed on the back burner. There is never time enough time in the day to exercise or prepare a home cooked meal, get a sufficient amount of sleep, drink the appropriate levels of water, or get that much needed annual physical examination. Are you one of those people? Now is the time for you to sit down at your kitchen table and focus on how you’re going to achieve the following three important tasks related to living healthier: (1) conduct a self-examination of those things that challenge you everyday, (2) develop a plan for how you’re going to align living healthier with your pursuits and challenges, and (3) implement your plan that will help to alleviate a continuum of poor lifestyle choices. The one thing you have to your advantage is the power of choice; taking responsibility for your actions and learning that your faith, determination, and perseverance are necessary for overcoming your challenges, rearranging your priorities, and embracing healthier lifestyle habits. One of the most important transactions you’ll make in 2009 will be to live healthier in the midst of it all. This health and fitness dialogue is provided for your consideration only. It is not intended to replace the medical advice of your doctor or health care provider. Please consult your health care provider for advice about your specific health and fitness needs.Fitness coach Bridgette Collins is the author of Imagine Living Healthier and Destined to Live Healthier, two entertaining and inspiring books that uses fictional stories to illuminate familiar patterns and truths about common lifestyle habits. Let's Create a New Black History Legacy!

Comment | Copy This

As the official Black History Month winds down today, February 28, 2009, what can each one of us do to keep it alive… everyday of the year? Black people continue to invent and create wonderful products and services that improve the lives of many. I applaud Tom Joyner for his “little known Black history facts” segment of his show, which highlights past and present creativity and innovations. Due to circumstances beyond our control many of our achievements are buried in archives or hidden within the pages of our children’s history books.Look at all of the major corporations who ran commercials that gave praise to the accomplishments of Black inventors for mechanical devices that improved the industrial age to help make shoes, the clock auto parts and the traffic light to name a few. Why do they only give these kinds of accolades during the month of February?Sometimes I am offended by the commercials of some of these major corporations which target Black consumers, because it is all about getting us to spend our money at their retail establishment. Especially when they are geared towards our youth. Does it have to be Hip Hop, Rap or a bad attempt at Street Slang to get our attention? They think just by getting Black people to do the voices or act in their commercials is a big honor to our people. Don’t get me wrong I love the fact that a Black actor is getting paid, but sometimes when the commercial content is somewhat derogatory, shouldn’t they just say NO?Well anyway, I constantly search for Black businesses to patronize, before I buy certain products or services. I truly believe that if we all as a people actually take a look at other so called minority groups, we can see what has worked for them to accomplish more as a race than as individuals. For example, look at the Jewish people, almost wiped out during World War II and the Holocaust. They came to the U.S. and banded together, doing business with each other, employing each other, buying from each other and within a few generations are still one of the smallest ethnic groups, but have a very large segment of the wealth in this country.Similar story for Asians, who set up shops in Black neighborhoods to fill a void after a lot of our businesses closed when the strip malls, and eventually the mega malls were built in the burbs. They opened corner stores, convenience stores, nail salons, beauty supply stores, take-out joints and restaurants in our neighborhoods. They take that money back to their neighborhoods; spend it with other Asians back in their community.Like I said in the beginning of this blog, Black people continue to invent and create products and services. Why aren’t we seeking them out to patronize them? I don’t like the excuse the customer service is bad or we are like “crabs in a barrel” anymore. These excuses are no longer valid when we have a Black man as President of these United States! So my question to you right now is…. Why are we making every other community “rich”, except our own?Much praise to Michael Baisden for having the weekly segment on his show so that entrepreneurs can call in and tell his audience about their businesses. But is this enough? It is a huge benefit but I don’t think it is enough. I can’t remember who these businesses are or where to find them after I hear the show, because I am usually driving. Try to make a mental note so I can write it down when I get to a place to stop. That is why I feel a national Black Business directory is so badly needed. One marketplace listing Black businesses from around the country. I told you a few weeks ago that TAG TEAM Marketing was launching their Black Business Network 4.0. Well it is up and running full steam right now. So what makes this directory so different than previous online directories that have popped up and then disappeared over the years in many cities like Orlando, Atlanta, New York and Los Angeles? Here are my top 10 reasons to check out TAG TEAM’s Black Business Network 4.0!1) This Black Business Network is backed by two Black self-made, millionaires who saw the need to have one unified marketplace to promote Black Businesses. Also supported by legendary entrepreneur George Fraser, the creator of FraserNet, the worlds #1 network for Black professionals. George has been named "Black America's #1 Networker" by Black Enterprise Magazine and Upscale magazine called him one of the "Top 50 Power Brokers in Black America". George is passionate about inspiring Black people to make change and reach for the stars and is a member of TAG TEAM’s Black Business Network.2) Members of TAG TEAM’s Black Business Network have many benefits that other online communities can’t offer like, training, seminars and over 22,000 Black members of the TAG TEAM online community who are already committed to buying the products/services of Black Businesses3) TAG TEAM also hosts live networking events where Black Business Network members meet, exchange and do business together. Members get to speak on stage and promote their products and/or services to the entire audience. .4) Vending is a fantastic way to generate instant sales and revenues for Black business owners at the live events where members can set up vending tables and sell their products to the attendees (even if you don’t live in Atlanta.)5) Members of the Black Business Network who become "Wholesalers" can have their products listed for sale in the Buy Black Today online store where they can be purchased immediately by Black consumers. 24/76) Video commercials are a powerful way to get people to know about your company, products, services and/or opportunity.7) The Black Business Expansion Club is an educational organization made up of Black people who want to learn how to expand their businesses. Expansion Club members have access to en extensive online library of training seminars, articles, information and resources.8) TAG TEAM Marketing International has a Buy Black Today retail store. The store features products from Black Business Network members all over the world.9) As a "Wholesaler" in the Black Business Network, your products can be displayed in the Buy Black Today retail store. By having your product for sale in the store, customers that visit the store or attend Atlanta TAG TEAM events, can see and purchase your products.10) TAG TEAM Marketing builds and maintains the Black Star Marketing Team. The team is made up of positive, Black people all over the United States who earn money by selling the products and services of Black Business Network members to Black consumers. New members are constantly joining the team and going to work as well. So, if you are in Atlanta, you can attend the weekly Black Business Networking Socials (Saturdays, 7pm-10pm) to network and shop with Black business people, socialize, have fun, meet and hear from Black businesses owners. The price of admission is free, but you must be a member of TAG TEAM Marketing to attend (can join free at door or online). Business attire is required. If you are not in Atlanta, join the online community to get weekly updates on future online broadcasts of seminars, training events and club meetings. Either way you can find out more about the TAG TEAM Movement and how you can get involved at www.tagteammarketing.com/TeamDollar.TAG TEAM is preparing to send press releases about the new Black Business Network to Black newspapers, media outlets and consumers all over the world. This will generate lots of additional traffic to the Black Business Network Directory’s website.Visit www.BlackBusinessNetwork.com/TeamDollar and LIST YOUR BUSINESS NOW, before the press releases is sent out, so that your business can be seen by all the new visitors.Don’t forget to tell them that Darlene Robinson from Orlando invited you.Darlene RobinsonIndependent MarketerTAG TEAM Marketing, Inc.Buy From Black-owned Businesses www.BuyBlackToday.com/TeamDollarFor Black Business Owners www.BlackBusinessNetwork.com/TeamDollarInvestment Strategies for Black People www.TAGTEAMInvestmentclub.com/TeamDollarBlack Business Opportunity www.BlackStarOpportunity.com/TeamDollarBlack Business Training www.TAGTEAMUniversity.com/TeamDollar
