Do you have the skills to market to $11.8 Trillion MultiCultural Marketplace?

Juniques MultiCultural Connections ( http://www.jusmcc.net) is pleased to share information, that will help any business owner, that want to be part of trillion dollar business to business and business to consumer, multicultural marketplace.

JMCC offers multilingual/multicultural online radio and television. Come see and hear the global audience we are part of. (http://www.jusmcc.net )

Multicultural marketing (also known as ethnic marketing or cross-cultural marketing) is the practice of marketing to one or more audiences of a specific ethnicity, typically an ethnicity outside of a country's majority culture, which is sometimes called the "general market."

Typically, multicultural marketing takes advantage of the ethnic group's different cultural referents such as; language, traditions, celebrations, religion and any other concepts, to communicate to and persuade that audience.

The reasons for multicultural advertising People tend to live within their cultural boundaries; i.e., people have their own cultural values and norms, which influence the way

they think, feel and act.

People in a particular ethnic group tend to share the language, customs, values, and social views, and these influence people’s cognitive (beliefs and motives), affective (emotion and attitude) and behavioral (purchase and consumption) processes.

Based on this notion of “advertising as a mirror,” cultural values and standards are implanted in ads in such a way that consumers can “see themselves” and identify with the characters in the ads and feel affinity with the brands.

Multicultural marketing can have a positive influence on "mainstream" marketing in a variety of ways: Innovation:

Charting a multicultural marketing strategy goes beyond identifying communications programs and promotions tailored to these markets.

Multicultural marketing is an engine for innovation.

Growth: If multicultural segments are growing at higher rates than the general population, it implies that they are also consuming most products at higher rates than the rest

Globalization: Once a corporation acknowledges the value of multicultural marketing and begins investing in research and development of products and new marketing capabilities, these can be leveraged in the global environment.

Skills required

It is suggested that the following skills are required in the field of multicultural marketing.

1.To spot patterns that allow subcultures to be grouped together, so that a common marketing strategy may be extended to several subcultures in a group (“transcultural” marketing)

2.To develop a distinct marketing strategy for each subculture, if there is a significantly distinct cultural dimension that is

important to the specific culture (multicultural marketing)

3.To further segment audiences in a subculture, if needed, in terms of cultural affinity, cultural identity or acculturation level

(tactical adaptation within a subculture)

4.To develop parameters of culturally acceptable marketing stimuli; and

5.To establish a protocol for measuring cultural effectiveness of the stimuli.

Creating a multicultural marketing strategy

Multicultural marketing focuses on customizing messaging and marketing channels for each target group, as opposed to simply

translating a general message into different languages, or including token representation of different ethnic groups in imagery.

Multicultural marketing is also complicated by the degree of mainstream cultural assimilation within ethnic groups themselves.

Some segments, such as recent immigrants, may highly prefer use of their mother tongue, have limited proficiency in the local language, and be highly geographically concentrated.

Other groups, such as second-generation individuals born in the new homeland, may be bicultural but have less proficiency in their parent's mother tongue and be more geographically dispersed.

An ethnic marketing strategy is developed around the values and attitudes distinctive to a particular ethnic group, and generally includes the following aspects:

Identification and collaboration with community leaders

The promotion of culture, symbols and celebrations important to a precise target Enhancing and focusing on the cultural uniqueness of ethnic group

1) Understand cultural differences in communication patterns, values, and behavior in the target ethnicities.

2) Assess cultural affinity among ethnic audiences.

3) Segment the ethnic audiences based on the level of cultural affinity.

4) Evaluate the need for adjustments in strategy and tactics.

5) Explore culturally acceptable/unacceptable, sensitive/insensitive advertising messages among the identified segments.

6) Develop the most effective and efficient advertising tactics targeted to the identified segments.

7) Evaluate the effectiveness of advertising campaigns among different target segments. This process is also known as ethnic marketing.

Pioneers Pioneers in the field of multicultural marketing include Madam C. J. Walker, African-American businesswoman, hair care

entrepreneur,Procter and Gamble, Mc Donald's,Pepsi cola and Benetton, and the entrepreneur Francesco Costa with My Own Media and ISI

Holding in the foreigner services sector, Joseph Assaf with Ethnic Business Awards, Alan M. Powell CEO of AP & Associates

Blue Cross/ Blues Shield is actively going after this newly created health insurance market!!

MORRISVILLE, N.C. (AP) -- Just down from the Target and Gander Mountain big-box stores and between a nail salon and dental office, North Carolina's largest health insurer opened its first retail store.

It has some exercise offerings — step aerobics classes and stationary bike workouts — but for now, its main product is providing in-person information about changes coming in October with the health insurance overhaul law.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina is opening half a dozen of these offices in strip malls statewide to first educate and then, starting in October, enroll consumers shopping for coverage because of the federal Affordable Care Act, also known as "Obamacare." Blue Cross affiliates in Florida and Pennsylvania have had similar stores open for years.

What happen to the cellphone?!

What happen to the cellphone?!
Rickey Johnson, Juniques MultiCultural Connections
http://www.jusmcc.org

Hello Community,

As I watch people enter the home base business market, it occurred to me, one area of
business development should be important. Staying relevant.

Remember the cellphone popularity? How it appeared to be a major communication leap?
How it seemed to be the most advanced communication event that could happen?
How it would be here for years to come.
How it created new businesses and close others?

Technology really advances quickly. Many times that advancement obsolete earlier advancement.
The communication device that is falling into that reality, is the cellphone.

Remember, how it exciting it was to have this electronic equipment that send and receive a
telephone call, while you were mobile. Where you could be reached "by phone" anywhere in the country!!!

The cellphone, put the cord and cordless phone to "shame". Now, you can find a telephone, but you will have to search for it, yes, cord and cordless phones are a rarity.

Oh yes,The cellphone, in its communication advancement, obsoleted the pager. The electronic device that allowed you to receive a tone to "tell" you had a phone message, then it advanced to be able to "show' the number calling.
WOW!!! All had to do was find a phone!!!!

Now, the mobile phone i.e cellphone is about to experience that same communication progression.
the cord, cordless phone and pager did.

Soon you will be hard pressed to find just a celluar mobile device. The Mobile device is
has arrived in "full force".

The Mobile Device is here to stay. This handheld device that has an operating system and
can use computer program applications. Why it even comes with wi-fi, bluetooth and GPS capablilty, a camera, media player, and a storage battery, that allows the user to be mobile.

Mobile Computers!!!!! That is are communication progression.

The impact is being felt in any industry that relies on just providing send/receive communication service. Any company who's "strength" is providing send/receive service, will be challenged to
stay "consumer-able".

I suspect, mobile devices will obsolete many of the communication devices we thought we be around for
years.

The communication consumer is being accustomed to being able to not only send and receive voice calls, but, audio/visual communications, i.e videos. To have a device that can "run" computer programs. To have communications delivered mobilely and "on-demand".

So keep this progress in mind as you build your business. Stay mindful of industry advancements.
Position yourself so you do not become "obsolete" when a progression in a industry could be
your opportunity or your demise.

Reminds of this song, Enjoy

Everything Must Change Lyrics
Nina Simone

Everything must change
Nothing stays the same
Everyone will change
No one, no one stays the same

The young become the old
And mysteries do unfold
For that's the way of time
No one, and nothing goes unchanged

There are not many things in life one can be sure of
Except rain comes from the clouds
Sun lights up the sky
Hummingbirds fly

Winter turns to spring
A wounded heart will heal
Oh, but never much too soon
No one, and nothing goes unchanged

The young become the old
And mysteries do unfold
For that's the way of time
No one, and nothing stays unchanged

There are not many things in life one can be sure of
Except rain comes from the clouds
Sun lights up the sky
Hummingbirds fly

Rain comes from the clouds
Sun lights up the sky
Hummingbirds fly

Rain comes from the clouds
Sun lights up the sky
Hummingbirds fly

Everything must change

USA economic policies are in place and/or being put in place to assist our youth. That is a good thing!
However, we must look at the other end of that "timeline" and see where these youths, will be arriving.
If we properly prepare, we will not have to be repeating the same economic empowerment strategies for those "new age category" people.
Additionally, we must assist seniors and elderly in devising an effective economic empowerment strategy. No one wants to be at the "mercy" of someone else benevolence to take care of them.
We have too much going for us economically in the USA to not make this happen!!!

Senior Citizens to Exceed Children in Most of World and U.S. by 2050 Census Bureau estimates show seniors in U.S. increasing by 104% from 2012 to 2050
June 28, 2012 - The world's inhabitants in 2012 are an older mix of people than was the case a decade ago, driven by declining fertility and increasing life expectancy.
According to new U.S. Census Bureau population projections, by midcentury most world regions, and the United States, will resemble Europe, which in 2005 became the first major world region where the population 65 and older outnumbered those younger than 15. In the United States, the senior citizen population - those age 65 and older - is projected to grow by 104.3% between mid-year 2012 and 2050.
At that point there will be 80.5 million Americans under age 15 and 86.8 million seniors over age 64. Northern America, which includes Canada and the United States, will have joined Europe in this historic reversal of age group sizes by 2050, as will Asia, Latin America and Oceania (which includes Australia and New Zealand).
Moreover, China is projected to move from having nearly twice as many people in the younger age group than in the older one in 2012, to the opposite situation by midcentury. These projections come from an update of the Census Bureau's International Data Base, which includes estimates by age and sex to 100 years and older for countries and other areas with populations of 5,000 or more and provides information on population size and growth, mortality, fertility and net migration. Since April 2012, users of the International Data Base have been able to obtain population in single years of age, allowing them to calculate country-specific populations in particular age groups (e.g. population at selected ages younger than 5, or adolescents).
Between now and the middle of the 21st century, global population will continue aging. The percentage of population 65 and older will more than double, from 8 percent today to nearly 17 percent in 2050. This will carry with it well-established changes in the mix of communicable and noncommunicable disease patterns in populations, health care burden, pension systems, the composition and character of the labor force, and other economic variables, such as savings and consumption patterns.
One world region — Africa — will continue to have populations younger than 15 that are much larger than those 65 and older, but even there, the balance will have shifted toward the older group JMCC is active in providing job and opportunities for the multi cultural communities, especially seniors and elderly!!

10 Keys to Uncommon Living

We all want to live the uncommon life. I know I do. As a coach, I value change and reinvention. I believe change is necessary for energizing your soul. The one thing I know is that changing your perspective is key to an uncommon life. In order to see the fluidity of life, you must see it through a new eye. This may require daily refocusing. It's like refreshing your eye "browser." We need to refresh every now and then with a new direction, new relationships, new knowledge, new assignments and whatever else that will jumpstart us out of the common to the uncommon. If you are responding to life out of the old eye, allow me to share some concepts on how to live the uncommon life.

  • It's important to see yourself as a brand. You are your own message. Ask yourself, "what am I saying to people when they encounter me? Who and what do you represent? Make the appropriate adjustments to deliver the right message.
  • It's important to reinvent yourself 2-3 times in your life because there is so much more untapped potential on the inside of you that it will take your whole lifespan to bring it out.
  • You must be active in the game of life - you must keep going because success comes through working it out. Giving up is not an option unless you know that you are absolutely in the wrong place. And even then, take what you've learned in that place and keep moving forward.
  • Stop looking at the mountain top and purpose in your heart to start at the level you know you fit. Then, advance up the mountain one step at a time. Cover all of your bases.
  • Figure out what your goals are because doing nothing will cost you. Create weekly, monthly, yearly goals.
  • You can get what you want as a long as you can help other people to get what they want. In other words, don't live a selfish life. What you do for others, God will make happen for you.
  • Listen to your dissatisfaction. Sometimes when you are unsatisfied, your heart may be trying to tell you something. Don't override your internal alarm system.
  • You must see things that normal people don't see. Train your eye to see beyond what is there. Examine the different territories that you find yourself in and create from what you see.
  • Learn to give more than you have. God's economy is vastly different than the world's economy. It doesn't make sense to give when you don't have anything, but when you sow into people's lives, you shall reap. It's the law of nature.
  • Move away from people who don't believe in you and who don't agree with the plan for your life. Otherwise they will pull on your motivation and enthusiasm. Stay connected to people who bring light into your life.

Are You Still Looking Out for Number One?

Have you ever attended a networking event with the intention to find connections for someone else? Most likely not because that’s not what we’re taught to do. We’re taught that we should stuff our pockets with business cards, through our shoulders back, put our game face on and let the hunt begin! If we’re able to muster up any courage at all, we walk up to a likely looking stranger and start grilling him or her. What do you do, how long have you done it and gee I’ve got a great product (service) for you that will surely solve all your problems! Wrong on oh, so many fronts. But we’ll cover networking etiquette and relationship building in another blog post.

But think of how much pressure it would take off your shoulders if you went to a mixer or other networking event on someone else’s behalf. You always do a better job when you stop thinking about yourself and think of the needs of others. And that’s one of the key tenets we promote in Pink Passport Society. Uplift and support other women. Help them be successful. Because by doing so, your connections and relationships will also be strengthened and you too will win in the long run.

So for your next event, interview three potential candidates – say for your strategic partner or perhaps one of your clients, armed with the information you’ve gathered beforehand (what is their target market – gender? income? industry? etc.). Prescreen the referrals, get the contact information and if you’re really good, go ahead and set up a date and time to make introductions (because we’re always “going to keep in touch” and then life, work and time intervenes, and another opportunity lost!)

Finally, once you’ve completed this task you’re free to relax and he yourself. And who knows how that will turn out – when you’re relaxed you’re more approachable. Your next client might just walk up and find you! So go out there and try a little reverse networking. You just might like it!

Family financial assets play a key role in poverty reduction, social mobility, and securing middle class melt-down. With a gloomy future and an unemployment rate of 30%, the highest since the great-depression, how can Blacks continually look for jobs that are not there. We are becoming a nation in the US that you will be either self-employed or unemployed. There is no longer something in between. It is projected that buy 2011, Africans Americans buying power will increase to over trillions of dollars. Still yet today only 3% of those dollars actual help the black communities. What has happened to reason? Certainly every child that grows up will not be a rapper or sports player. Why are we so focused on materialistic things rather then assets of value.Although we have come a long way but still lag to far behind on financial stability compared to other cultures. But could it be that someone has broken the "Financial Code" for blacks and if so how do we as a people change the mindset to promoting, empowering, educating, nurturing lifting up Black Business Owners. The vehicle of change is called the African American Connection and Visionary and Activist Charles Bowlds has broken the Code to the financial failures in the Black Community! He accepted $355,000 additional offers and will attend Morehouse College this Fall. Morehouse College, Class of 2013 is the graduationCongratulations Derrius! Continue to make Kenwood Academy proud as you pursue your career in medicine
He recieved 1 Million Dollars in Scholarhip
Former foster child in Chicago now a million-dollar scholarstephanie bancheroBy Stephanie Banchero-- Derrius Quarles leans back in his seat and methodically debates Aristotle's theory of truth during freshman honors English class at Morehouse College. He strides across campus in a navy blue tailored suit and a bold red sweater handing out business cards that boast "Student/Entrepreneur/Leader."But behind the 19-year-old's dauntless appearance is a past that few on campus know. When Quarles was 5, the state took him away from his mother. He spent his childhood bouncing from home to home before ending up on his own at 17 in an apartment on Chicago's South Side. His arrival at a prestigious, historically African-American college -- with more than $1 million in scholarship offers -- is a story of inspiration and anguish. And it's a testament to his determination to prove that he is better than his beginnings."You can't go around thinking you are inferior just because you didn't have parents," he says. "For me, it's about knowing where you are from and accepting it, but more important, knowing where you are going."Despite his polished veneer, sometimes there are glimpses into a more complicated young man.In sociology class, when students discuss their childhood dependence on parents, the usually verbose Quarles withdraws from the lively discussion and doodles in a notebook. When a tutoring coordinator asks students about the "caring adults" in their lives, Quarles mumbles something about an aunt.He rarely talks about his childhood, but when pushed, the words tumble out."I've had people tell me that I ain't never gonna be s---. That's not a scratch, that cuts deep," he says. "After so many people put me down, I said, 'I'm gonna show you.' "Quarles made good on that promise when he won more than $1 million in scholarship offers, including a full ride at Morehouse. A graduate of Kenwood Academy High School in Chicago, he is one of about a dozen students nationwide to garner such a bounty, according to Mark Kantrowitz, who runs the Web site Finaid, which tracks college aid.He won full scholarships to five universities, the Gates Millennium Scholarship worth $160,000 and the Horatio Alger and Coca-Cola scholarships, each worth $20,000, to name a few. He'll use most of it to pay for advanced schooling. Now, Quarles hopes to weave a new family narrative at an all-male college known as much for molding brotherhood as for molding scholars. He is searching for a band of brothers who will not abandon him, as so many others have in the past.Left aloneWhen Quarles was 4, his father was stabbed to death with a pocketknife in a fight on a vacant lot. His mother struggled with drugs.Quarles doesn't remember much about those years, outside of being left alone with his brother for long stretches of time, pilfering bread and snacks from a convenience store."We had to fend for ourselves the best we knew how," he says. "My brother really stepped up as an older brother. He never left my side."This connection to his brother was a sustaining one. But it would not last. When Quarles was 5, officials placed him and his brother in a temporary foster home, then with an aunt.Quarles remembers this as a period of calm. He learned to read sitting in his aunt's lap, paging through her favorite Bible passages. He recalls eating around the dinner table with more food than he ever imagined. But when Quarles was 13, his older brother was removed from the home and placed in a foster home in Maywood. Quarles wanted to go with his brother and his aunt let him. State records simply show she was not interested in becoming his legal guardian. Quarles says he is not certain why his aunt let him leave and he would not provide her name."I'm content not to know," he says. "I'm sure it was a good reason."Quarles' brother left the foster home a few months later, one of the toughest losses of Quarles' life. "That's when I learned you can't trust people to stay around," he says. "That when I learned to lean on me."Three years later, Quarles was placed with his grandmother and an aunt in Chicago. But within a year, he convinced officials with the Department of Children and Family Services that he would be better off on his own.The high school junior packed his clothes, books and a set of golf clubs and moved to an apartment as part of a state transitional living program for foster children. There, he learned to budget his money, wash and dry his clothes, shop for groceries and cook. He received a small stipend and got a part-time job at a barbershop. At 17, he was living like an adult.Desmond Kemp, who became a mentor to Quarles -- a brother, really -- when they met at a tutoring program, initially opposed the move. But Kemp was impressed with how Quarles kept up the apartment and budgeted his money with such precision that he always had enough for fashionable clothes and textbooks. He was awed when he took Quarles to the grocery store and the teenager shunned the snack aisles and headed to the fresh fruits and vegetables."He kept saying, 'This is brain food. This is what I need to eat to build a strong brain,' " Kemp recalls. "I had to laugh but also stared in amazement at how mature he was for a teenager."Even though his home life was sometimes chaotic, Quarles brought home A's and B's in elementary school. That changed when he entered Kenwood Academy. First quarter of freshman year, he got an F and eked out only a 2.5 grade point average.Providence intervened in the form of a pushy biology teacher.Quarles had enrolled in a summer biology course but skipped the first day and was late for the second. Teacher Nivedita Nutakki pulled him into the hallway and told him he was wasting his talent."He needed a push and some encouragement," she says. "I spotted right away that this was a special kid who had a special mind."Quarles got an A in the class. Sophomore year, he earned a 3.6 grade point average. By junior year, he was carrying three advanced placement classes and earning straight A's."Initially, I was doing it to show my biology teacher that I could do it," he says. "But then it kind of moved into, 'I didn't have to show her anymore.' I was doing it to show myself."Quarles latched on to Nutakki and spent hours after school with her, engrossed in a subject that inspired him to want to be a doctor. He found other mentors who, together, played the role of parent.Lynda Parker, a Kenwood counselor, recounts how aggressively Quarles pursued college scholarships. He would stay late to use the school computer for research and pester Parker to complete his recommendation letters."With teenagers, the biggest motivator is the parent," Parker says. "Every step of the way, you have to contact the parents so they can push the kids. Not only did Derrius not have a parent to push him, he was pushing himself as hard, or harder, than parents of the other kids."Even his oversize ambition couldn't get Quarles past one roadblock. He dreamed of attending Harvard, until one college adviser told him his 28 ACT score was simply not high enough. He abandoned his plans. At a crossroadsNow, as he walks the red clay hills of the Morehouse campus, the training ground of Martin Luther King Jr., Quarles seems poised between who he was and who he wants to be.His dorm room looks like every other teenager's. The bed is mussed, the refrigerator and shelves are stacked with Doritos and Coke, and the focus of the room is the 32-inch flat-screen TV and Xbox he bought with his roommate. But inside Quarles' closet hang four suits and a half-dozen wrinkle-free dress shirts. In the corner sits an iron and ironing board. As a high school senior, Quarles Googled tips on business attire. Now, his belt color always matches his shoes, and his shirt sleeves are tailored to fall exactly halfway across his watch."How you dress says something to the world about who you think you are," he explains.Quarles' counselors, friends and teachers worry he is too eager to grow up."I keep telling him that everyone has a right to live as a child during their childhood years," Parker says.Still, Quarles keeps an ambitious list of goals: graduate from medical school, earn a doctorate, start a tutoring program for low-income Chicago students, help shape the city's public health policy, become the U.S. surgeon general."I have no time to play around," he says. "There are people back home in Chicago starving, homeless, unemployed, killing each other. There is a difference between enjoying life and wasting time, and I can't waste any time."I want to make a difference. I want to show people that I can be all those things people said I could never be."Quarles now has the means to pay for his education. And oversize optimism could get him the rest of the way.During a training session for a Morehouse tutoring program one day, students introduce themselves and list three songs on their iPod -- typically Kanye West, Beyonce, Jay-Z and Lou Rawls. When his turn comes, Quarles stands."Have you ever seen the movie 'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory'?" he asks, prompting raised eyebrows. "There's a song in there called 'Pure Imagination.' That's what I'm listening to these days."Quarles later explains that the lyrics inspire him: "Anything you want to, do it. Want to change the world? There's nothing to it.""It's so powerful," he says. "It shows the power of imagination. If you imagine it, you can do it."
