We don’t have money for football uniforms. No field trip. That cost money. No, you can’t have that, it cost more than what we have in our budget. They’re coming to take the furniture back; our payment is overdue. The kid needs her braces removed but the dentist won’t do it unless we pay the rest of the money we owe. I’ve lost my job. I’m sorry, honey, they have downsized my position. If I want to keep my job I will have to take a cut in pay. How can I afford these child support payments? I can’t take this any more. What are we going to do?”A mind that is cluttered with money worries may be flooded with one or two or all of these thoughts at one time or another. Maybe you were there once in your life, maybe not. Most people with financial troubles are anxious, confused, angry, harbor feelings of hopelessness, insecurity, and uncertainty about future financial outcomes. Consequently, this state of mind affects everything, including work performance.It’s time for a financial assessment. Is your trouble because you have maxed out your credit cards? Maybe you have more month than money. Do you have medical expenses? Are you sick and can’t work? Have you lost your job, or been downsized? Where did the shortage originate?Once you have assessed where the problem lie, then you can look at remedies. Money troubles in plain simple English are not enough money to cover your present lifestyle. The average lunch cost about $7.00. That $7.00 for five days comes to $35.00 a week, totaling $140.00 a month. Imagine if you, your wife and children spent the same amount weekly,that would amount to a partial mortgage or rental payment.Take a look at your Debt. Began to work from the smallest to the largest. Take the money you saved from not buying, let’s say lunch, and redirect the total amount towards paying off the smallest debt first.As you pay off each debt, take that money and add it to the next smallest debt, working your way to the largest, until you have eliminated your debt completely. While you are doing this, examine your household budget.Look at how to eliminate some of your other expenditures; for example, if you have a high cell phone bill, you might want to exchange that cell phone for one with a more fixed rate. Maybe instead of hiring a lawn service, you could cut the grass yourself. Perhaps you might visit Barber or cosmetology trade schools to obtain these services at a reduced rate.Look at what you are already doing first to find the extra money. If you still need more to make up the deficit, then you might look at your skills and talents: start a home-based business. It’s something you could do as a family.Money troubles can be conquered, if you are willing to take a few extra steps. Don’t look at the impossible debt mountain, began the climb one step at a time. And, yes, it is okay to reward yourself along the way but keep in mind where you are headed. Don’t overdo it. Once your debt is eliminated, don’t spend the excess money; instead, add it to your future savings options.Understand that paying your debts down will not take place overnight but if you are consistent it will happen.Blondie L. STAY STRONG FOCUS, AND MOVE ON

There is a popular term used that says, “Let Go and Let Flow”. During my journey to prosperity, I learned many tough lessons, including the one that co-workers, bosses, friends and especially family will discourage you in different ways. I remember when I was younger and working for the state department. For a year I had a fantastic supervisor, who always encouraged and told me to focus more on my studies, and to not get comfortable working in my department. He was promoted and replaced. I continued to keep to myself, do my work, study on my breaks, etc. After six months passed, I was told by my new supervisor that she and my co-workers felt that I was not taking my job seriously, and if I did not change my attitude I would be fired. I prayed about it, and remembered what my old supervisor told me. I stayed for another month, until ironically, my old supervisor offered me another job in his new department. My point is, although I wanted to tell the supervisor what she could do with the job, I did not. That job was helping me to pay some of my mortgages. A couple of years ago, when we were sleeping on a mattress on the floor, a relative would always ask me each time we spoke, if we finally had a bed to sleep on . Now that our bed can pay for a new car, I have no regrets about sleeping on floor. Although I always explained to this person that we wanted our money to work for us, it did not register. I have shared these stories because it is not easy to change your mind set on things. Just because you change your way of thinking, it does not mean others will change theirs. When you are going against mainstream’s society’s and beliefs, you and thinking out side the box, and this upsets and scares a lot of people What we have to remember is that wealthy people and families(with old money) like the Rockefeller’s, Morgan’s, etc, are thinking outside the box. This subject is not illegal or new. The term old money means just that; they have had their money for generations. Their money is being recycled in antiques, gold, silver, etc.We tend to get caught up in other people’s hang ups, instead of staying positive about things, and continuing to do what we need to do to get to the next level. That is a part of life, but as long as we remember that our Creator loves, guides and protects us, that should be our faith. Faith is important.The weekly challenge for the week is to do something nice for the that person who is giving you a hard time. Give him or her a magazine or book on Antiques or silver. Share this blog. Invite him or her to the Metropolitan museum or a local museum that exhibits fine art and antiques. Or just say thank-you. When I was a senior in high school, I worked at a fast food restaurant. I thanked the manager for telling me that I just was not cut out for fast food and then firing me. My point is to reverse the negative remarks and replace them with positive remarks. You can change the discouragement into encouragement. What I have learned over the years, is some people that were discouraging me were afraid, and wanted to do what I was doing. When they finally stepped out on faith he or she was very happy.

BUILDING YOUR PORTOFOLIO

There are several strategies to building a great portfolio. One of the best things you can do is to invest at least 25% of your assets in gold, silver, and diamonds (http://www.kitco.com/market/ ). This is done because you are investing in money. It is a safe and conservative investment for your portfolio. Unlike stocks and futures, it is also not just paper and it is a tangible item that you can keep in your possession. This money fortunately, appreciates in value as well.Ask yourself 2 questions before making a purchase, especially if you have a business. The first question is; "Is this a tax deductible purchase, or can I make a profit from it?". The second question is; Will this purchase appreciate in value?, "When buying cars it is best to purchase used cars preferably antiques. When dealing with time, these items should still appreciate in value. Never have a car mortgage! People argue that you can write off your car as a business expense, but why not write it off, and have it appreciate at the same time. An old Mercedes Benz, BMW, Rolls Royce, etc, are examples of antique cars that should be part of your portfolio. When making purchases for your office or business, decorate with antique furniture. Rather than having furniture that looks good but is worthless in your office, you can have gorgeous and very valuable office furniture in your home and workspace. The White House is the perfect example. The furniture, rugs, porcelain, and paintings in the White House are all the very best and highest style that this country has ever seen by the most famous craftsmen and women. Is this just coincidence? Absolutely not. These items were chosen for their beauty and their long term value. These are the principles you should mirror in terms of material possessions.The third rule of thumb is not to purchase real estate unless you have money in the bank to buy it outright. By this I mean to stay away from mortgages. They only exception to this rule is to go into contract directly with the owner(land contract) for no longer than 7 years(ideally loan should be 6 months to 1 year). Remember that I mentioned in an earlier topic that "Cash is king". People are very flexible when you can offer them a large amount of money upfront and might be willing to take off $5,000-$10,000 from his or her asking price.In summary, the average person's basic portfolio should consist of Precious metals, Antique Furniture, Rugs, Paintings, Porcelain, Rugs, and Real Estate. These are the items that people use in their everyday lives. It is not just the White House. It is the Senate Chamber, banks, investment firms, and most old money estates. As a general rule antiques and fine arts typically outperform the stock market on a yearly basis. You just have to make wise informed purchase. Do your research and find someone that is knowledgeable and honest in those areas. In the last year a famous music mogul with the initials D.G. sold two paintings he owned for over 250 million dollars.The challenge of the week is to look at your current portfolio if you have one and figure out if it is comparable to the one above buy asking yourself the questions above. Ok, I rose this morning (Thank you Jesus), got the kids on the bus by 6:30, received a few phone calls around 8'ish, ate a miniature Snicker's candy bar and a few chips and began networking......Well to start, my goal today is to enroll 3 people today into the service in an attempt to help them to restore their credit to its rightfull place, follow up with some customers that have gone through the process and offer them the opportunity to join our business. Well, here I am back at it again....loving what I do of course but wanting to get a cup of coffee. How I'm Preparing My Kids For Indie Business Ownership

Yesterday, I Twittered about my 4-year old son scrambling his own eggs. A few people thought that was a little young. I used to think so, but now that I have children, I am constantly amazed at the things they can do when we give them a chance. A few private conversations started on the topic so I thought I'd share my motivation for making sure my kids, ages 4 and 6, learn good home management skills while they are young. As you can see, that includes doing some of their own laundry.

But first, I have to tell you about my homeschooling mom friend and mother of 3 boys, Beverly Lucas. Beverly and I have known each other since 1998. At one time, we met by phone on Monday mornings to encourage each other and talk about the week ahead. Toward the end of our time together, every Monday, her boys knocked on her bedroom door and I heard them say, "Mom, we finished our chores. Is there anything else we can do for you?"

Her oldest son was 6 at the time.

I was astonished. Did they even make kids like that anymore? Of course, as a mom now, I know that kids like that aren't made. They're trained.

Over the years, I have looked to Beverly for all kinds of mom encouragement and parenting advice One of the things Beverly helped me do is start teaching my kids solid home management skills as soon as they could walk. I have been amazed at the things they can do, even starting as young as 2 years old.

Like transferring trash from a small trash can into a bigger one, putting their plates on the counter after they finish a meal, sweeping the floor and picking out clean underwear from a pile of laundry and putting it away. These are things a child can do at a very young age. I would never have known had Beverly not taught me.

It's a challenge, I admit. I can sweep the floor much faster and better than my 6-year old daughter. Instead of asking my 4-year old son to take out the recyclables, I or my husband could do it. I could also sort all of the laundry in less than half the time it takes them to do it. I let them do it, and takes much longer. But I do it because I want my kids to have more than just book smarts.

Home Management Skills Are Easily Transferred To Business

I know lots of grown folks with plenty of book smarts, who are incapable of managing a home. I don't want that for my children, and I don't want it for my future kid-in-laws either. My friends and I laugh when I say that I don't want some sad new bride calling me up in the middle of the night in 20 years, complaining that the man I raised can't scramble her an egg. But I digress.

Because I tend to be on the impatient side, it can be painful to supervise my childrens' chore progress. My son always walks through the pile of trash my daughter is sweeping, inevitably starting a fight. He also hates making two trips to do anything, so becomes especially frustrated when he can't carry all of the recyclables at one time. And I'll never forget the time when me and his sister were busy cleaning up the kitchen, and when I reminded him he was supposed to be helping, he said, "But it's just not fun enough for me." (By the way, that was the last time his father ever left me and his daughter in the kitchen to clean it up by ourselves. Sorry, hon. I have to tell it like it is.)

When they load the dishwasher, I always have to go back and re-load it (without them knowing) so more dishes can be washed at one time.

All the while, I praise their achievements, keeping my eye on the ultimate prize of children who are equipped to be leaders in a 21st century world that will not be nearly as welcoming as the 20th century one in which I came of age.

They'll need more than a good resume, a good education and a few summers of volunteer work. They'll need skills. They'll need to demonstrate multi-tasking abilities and be able to engage in quick deductive reasoning under pressure.

And whether or not they have a traditional job, they will need to have at least one income stream of their very own. They will need to be Indie, so their father and I work hard to ensure that they master both home management and business ownership skills.

Three guiding principles help us do it.

1. Home Management First, Then Business Management

When you're Indie, especially if you're also a mom like me, your heart must be in your home first. That doesn't mean that I always choose giving a bath over signing a speaking contract, but it does mean that I check my heart daily to make sure that my home has first place.

Sometimes, this is a tough juggling act. I have to admit that it's often made easier by the fact that my husband is here with me all day and we can trade off on work and business. But as in most homes in America, I am the one managing the home day to day. I decide where and how the money will be spent and I make most of the scheduling decisions. I want both of my children, not just my daughter, to be able to do that when the time comes. I want both of them to be capable of leading a home and a business. And I want them to understand that, if home and family don't come first, then ultimately there may be little to show for your efforts as a business owner.

2. You Get Paid For Business Management, Not For Home Management

Most families these days have some kind of small business at home. When my kids were just 2, they started emptying the trash in the home office for a quarter. This money goes into their money jar right away. I make the chores age appropriate, but remember that they don't really have to accomplish much to teach the lesson.

If my son empties a trash can with 2 sheets of balled up paper in it, or my daughter does something as simple as wipe off the window sills or put all the pens in the pen holder, they still get paid. This teaches them that they have to work for money. If you connect the task to your business, it also teaches them a little about entrepreneurship. (You may also be able to deduct these payments on your taxes. Check with an accountant first.)

We do not compensate our children for doing chores around the house, because life doesn't work that way. Chores are a part of your contribution to the family. Mommy doesn't get paid for sorting the laundry, and neither will you.

But mommy does get paid in her business, and you can too.

3. Because I Said So

Not enough parents say that these days. At ages 4 and 6, my kids are too young to understand everything their father and I have to deal with as we co-lead our home. Yes, you have to clean up your room to my satisfaction before you go outside to play, and yes, the reason is because I said so. I don't have to make my son understand that taking care of his home before he plays with his friends builds character and instills responsibility. He doesn't care anyway at age 4. All he wants to do is ride his bike.

But he can understand unwelcome consequences if he doesn't do what I say he needs to do. That may sound strict and I suppose it is. But we feel that it prepares him for a life where each day starts at zero, and where he and he alone is responsible for whether or not he makes any money.

There will come a time when he will be able to comprehend the big picture. But for now, go take care of business. And yes, because I said so.

My children will not have the job options I had when I finished college and law school. They won't be able to rely as much as I did on a good resume to launch their parachute. They'll need good home management skills.

Quarter Auctions

Riches, Wealth, Prosperity In All Aspects Of Your Life
