Goals (88)

In today's post I want to respond to one of the comments on mysurvey. The question was:How do I get clear when I have so many things I like, but no real "passion" for any one particular thing? Especially in terms of business/careerWhen talking about getting clear whether it's personal, spiritual or business itbegins with you. Many times we focus on the external when talking about ourbusiness/career when in essence the problem may lie internally. The first place I like to begin in a situation such as this is self discoveryor with a self assessment. Before we get clear we must know more about ourselves.Get clear on things such asWhat matters most to you? What are your limiting beliefs? What are your core values? This will also help in the endeavor to discover or rediscover your passion. And then there's focus. This is one area which can set you up forsabotage of your empowering success and that is a lack of focus. Closethe gap by becoming aware of fatal distractions as mentioned in my eBookThe Dynamic Power of Focus. There are many strategies that can be used to help you in this area as well.Last but not least and definitely not exclusive is being clear on your purpose.Purpose will fuel passion, purpose will propel you to take action and moveforward with an extra zeal for life. Out of every endeavor in life it's importantthat you are clear on God's purpose for you everything else is an imitation. And you know I'm for discovering the authentic you. There are many things that could be added here, however, we'llsave that for another time. Why not simply make the choice today todo something about how you feel. How long has it been? If it's been2 - 5 years then I ask you why? No one is going to do anymore aboutyour life than you're willing to do.Besides you've been given gifts that need to be shared with the world.Begin today with you. Make a resolve that you will step forward and makethe connection needed to get clear, refuel your passion and live yourbest empowered life on purpose.Ready for breakthrough? OK ladies it's Valentine's day tomorrow and I know there are mixed emotions.
Included in this blog post on savvy women's tips I want to share some insight
on love and hopefully motivate you to look at your life in a different way.

Bravo!!!! To those of you who are already living this way.

The greatest love to we as Christians is Father God's love as He gave His
only son for us.

I'd like you to remember that, however, I'd also like to focus on you.
Yes, you. In the bible it says to love your neighbor as you love yourself,
however, all too many times that's the problem we don't love ourselves!!
Ladies until we can learn to love ourselves it doesn't matter one bit how
many brothas, fellas you have.

You will probably self sabotage every relationship because you are
counting on the man to fulfill you and "to make you happy!"

You must come to terms with how unique, how special how absolutely
incredible you are. You are a unique one of a kind gift from Father God.
He didn't make robots.

There is a song that was so-o-o-o very instrumental in my learning to
love myself and to feel good about myself. It was a song that Whitney
Houston sang very early in her career and some of the words said
"learning to love yourself is the greatest love of all."

You see when you love yourself you are less inclined to be intimidated
by those with more education, money, followers (smile) than you. A better
car, home, body than you might think that you have. You will be so confident
in who and whose you are that excuse me "none of it matters" enough to stop
or block you.

My gift to you is to challenge you to discover more about you.
Discover your core values, what makes you unique, what your purpose is.
And this savvy woman will help you live a delicious life with no apologies.

Of course I'm going to invite you to connect with me for additional
support on this new journey by either joining my
Breakthrough Mentoring and Coaching program here or attending my preview call and you'll need to register here
for that. We will definitely cover a self discovery component during Breakthrough.

Happy Valentines Day!!

Empowerment is a choice and life is full of decisions and choices. The choices we make can either lead us down a road of prosperity “spirit, soul and body.” One thing to keep in mind is that prosperity is not just about money. There are also roads that lead to poverty, isolation and despair based on our decision and/or choice. As women we remain in limbo because there are so many decisions to make inour lives. We fill so many roles. Continue to read as I share tips for ajuicy manifestation of women's life empowerment! How do we know which choice to make, what decision will render the best result. What is the guarantee that we would choose the right one along the way?Step out and move forward. There are no guarantees. Keep this in mind whenendeavoring to realize life empowerment. You do not really know where a road will lead you until you take it. There are no guarantees. This is one of the most important things you need to realize about life. Nobody said that choosing to do the right thing all the time would always lead you to happiness. Loving someone with all your heart does not guarantee that it would be returned. Gaining fame and fortune does not guarantee happiness. There are too many possible outcomes, which you really cannot control. The only thing you have power over is the decisions that you will make, and how you would act and react to different situations.• Hindsight is 20/20Have you heard the cliché’ hindsight is always 20/20? Wrong decisions are always at hindsight. Had you known that you were making a wrong decision, would you have gone along with it? Perhaps not, why would you choose a certain path when you know it would get you lost? Why make a certain decision if you knew from the very beginning that it is not the right one. It is only after you have made a decision and reflected on it that you realize its soundness. One way to assess whether another a decision was correct or not is if the consequences or outcomes are good for you, then you have decided correctly. Otherwise, your decision was wrong.Seek wisdom. In the bible it says Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Proverbs 4:7• Arm yourself with as much information as you can about the situation. You cannot find the confidence to decide when you know so little about what you are faced with. Just like any news reporter, ask the 5 W’s: what, who, when, where, and why. What is the situation? Who are the people involved? When did this happen? Where is this leading? Why are you in this situation? These are just some of the possible questions to ask to know more about your situation. This is important. Oftentimes, the reason for indecision is the lack of information about a situation.• Identify and create options. What options do the situation give you? Sometimes the options are few, but sometimes they are numerous. But what do you do when you think that the situation offers no options? This is the time that you create your own. Make your creative mind work. From the most simplistic to the most complicated, entertain all ideas. Do not shoot anything down when an idea comes to your head. Sometimes the most outrageous idea could prove to be the right one in the end. You can ask a friend to help you identify options and even make more options if you encounter some difficulty, but make sure that you make the decision yourself in the end.Assess each option by looking at the advantages and disadvantages it offers you. In this way, you get more insights about the consequences of such an option. Weigh the pros and cons of every option. Now that you have assessed your options, it is now time to trust yourself. Remember that there are no guarantees and wrong decisions are always at hindsight. So choose… decide… believe that you are choosing the best option at this point in time. One more thing, never make a choice or decision in an angry mode. This is the worst time to make a decision. Move away from the situation and give yourself time to reflect and pray. You will be in a better position to make your choice and decision.Trust yourself and make that decision and realize a juicy manifestation of life empowerment. If you desire additional support in living your best empowered liferequest my free empowering gifts for sustained empowerment and success.Click here to access them now.(2010) Robin Tramble

Don't set your goals too low.....

If you don’t need much, you won’t become much.–Jim Rohn (Jim Rohn’s Weekly E-zine – July 1, 2003)“All things that are truly great are at first thought impossible.” ~ Friedrich Nietzsche …Passive income is a dream of mine, it always has been. My husband is the active income earner in our family & with the active income comes the days and weeks without him home (one reason I am a stay at home mother). I have worked for active income and while I like the camaraderie I cannot say I always liked how my life was dictated in an effort to earn that active income; the late hours or working on Saturdays, the do more with less attitude. There are some items though that I do not want to give up to be a stay at home mother, things some say are impossible to have as a stay at or work from home mother. That is crap!Have you said year after year that you want to take the kids to Disneyland? Or maybe another house? Maybe all you want is to be able to get a paycheck and not have it already claimed by bills. I understand, for 2-3 years I have been saying I want to move yet not actually doing anyhting getting us close to being able to move. This new year we went over finances and determined what we would need to do to get where we want to go. We set a GOAL and it is kinda high up there. The major reason for setting a goal is for what it makes of you to accomplish it. What it makes of you will always be the far greater value than what you get.–Jim RohnYou don’t have to want to be crazy rich, maybe what you want is to be extremely comfortable. As in…-still take nice vacations,-drive a car that is not a traffic hazard (notice I did not say new),-have a house that is a makes you smile when you drive up to it,-have 6 months of living expenses in your money market account,-not have to put off your childs fup dentist appt because you can’t swing the copay on the work they need-be able to give to charities like you really want toWhat is it you want to fund? How are you going to get there? What is your dream/goal ?Got it, good! Now what are you willing to give up for it? Do you just want another job or do you want an income stream that may take some time to build but will leave you with time & money in the end?If you want the time and money look into passive income.Always Progressing.....

New Year...New Strategy

Out with the old, in with the new is a term you often hear as we leave one year and enter the next. If only it was that easy. The truth is, it takes more than a clock striking twelve, a kiss with a love one or few fireworks to change a current challenging circumstance.Whether you are looking to change a business practice or personal situation, it is going to take a lot of work and much planning accomplish that dream or goal. Is your problem lack of focus? Motivation? Commitment? What are you going to do differently in 2010?I heard a powerful statement from a family member. He said, "Choose to make adjustments in your personal, mental and spiritual disciplines." You have to make a conscious decision to change. Yes, there may have been outside factors in your life that caused you to get off track. BUT you can either continue to waste time dwelling on what was or wasn't or you can make a CHOICE to let it go and move forward. It is up to you. Are you ready to pursue that dream of owning a home? Is starting your own business on the list? What steps do you need to take to make those dreams a reality? Here are a few tips to get you started.Write the VisionThere is a saying in the bible that says without a vision the people perish (Proverbs). Dreams keep you alive. If you have nothing to look forward to, you will just be. I encourage you to get a journal (or dust off the one you already have) and outline what you want to do. Be very specific. If you want to change careers, write what that career will be. If you want to increase your income, write down how much you want it to be.The key to this is that you write what ever it is with authority. Use words like I am going to, or I will make, etc. Writing the vision serves a few purposes. It allows you to see what is in your mind and becomes more real. You can also share it with one or two people that you trust, so they can hold you accountable. But be very selective in choosing who that person will be. Not everyone will believe in your vision.Research, Research, ResearchOne mistake many eager entrepreneurs make is that they do not conduct enough research in the project, career or business they are trying to get into. If you are looking to quit your corporate job and become a home based business, you need to establish a transition plan that includes having a start up budget. What will your home-based business be? What is going to be your niche? Who is doing what you would like to do already and could they be a mentor to you in some way? These are just a few things to consider, but no matter what you are trying to do, be prepared to put in many hours of research. As you establish a foundation, you will see the benefits of this preparation in the long run.Connect with Like-Minded PeopleIt is very very important to surround yourself with people who are looking to succeed and working in their passion. You need to be around people that are positive and excited about their gifts and talents. Friends and family can be great, but they can also be dream destroyers.Join groups that cater to the type of work or idea you are looking to do. If you enjoy event planning, go on Facebook, Linkedin, Yahoo Groups or some other sites that may host groups dedicated to that field. You will gain a tremendous amount of insight as you look to venture out on your own. Ask questions and don't be afraid to join into discussions. You may connect with a future colleague or client!Knowledge is PowerAs you move through the above steps and begin to get a solid idea on what you are doing and where you would like to go with it, keep your knowledge and skills up to date. Sign up for some training course, subscribe to online ezines or blogs that cater to your topic of interest. If paying for a course is not in your present budget-no worries, the internet has a host of free information for you to help keep you in the loop! For example, using a tool like Google Blog Search will give you the most current information for whatever it is you need to know.Following these simple steps are a sure way to help put you on the track of success in this new year.Natasha RubinVirtual Assistant/Social Media Marketing ProfessioanlOwner of Gifted Assistant Management Serviceshttp://www.thegiftedasssistant.netFacebook: http://www.facebook.com/giftedassistantLinkedin: http://www.linkedin.com/in/natasharubinFollow me:http://www.twitter.com/giftedassistant

Reflections of 2009!

2009 came to an end and I am reviewing the year for all that I have encountered. What a year this was for me! There were exciting moments and of course the ever consistent challenging moments. My year began with the completion of my first audio book The Day That Changed My Life Cancer an uncertain journey which was completed in January and by April it was available on line. In June, the audio book was translated in French and German and also being picked up by other on line audio book stores.I traveled quite a bit for professional and personal reasons. I spoke at symposiums and conferences. I became a mentor and I am actively engaged in mentoring which by the way is quite rewarding. In August, the second audio book The Day That Changed My Life Cancer an uncertain journey (Parents Edition) was released, translated in French and German and available world wide all on the same day. While celebrating the accomplishments of the audio books, I began working on the book which will feature many more stories submitted by survivors. As I have worked on my assignments, more have things were added and I now have three big projects that are currently in progress. With all of the exciting achievements, there were also those family moments of celebration, health related concerns, graduations, deaths and births. My nephew who is more like a son, joined the army and left for Korea. I became a guardian of a wonderful 2 year old boy. My mother and I shared some great conversations that gave a deeper insight to her life as a little girl all the way to her present day. My husbands' grandmother celebrated her 100th birthday! My daughter gave birth to her daughter and I became a grandmother!!And for all the years that have passed, I have noticed that they have all had the same things in common - unfinished goals. I will continue to set my goals but I am so pleased that there are things that are not on my list but will somehow become a part of a great achievement and I am open and I look forward to it!2010 I say -- Bring It On!!!!!!!

10 Steps to a Successful Business Year

by Karen A. DavisA new year causes most of us to stop and reflect on past successes and failures and what we want to accomplish in the next 12 months. You may have New Year’s resolutions or on-going goals. Honestly assessing your position in your field and thinking strategically about your where you want your business or career to be at year’s end will move you towards the goals you have for this year and beyond. The following ten steps will assist you in creating a written guide to follow throughout the year.1. Review your goals from last year. Which did you meet and which ones did you miss? Decide goals that should be carried over into this year, and the ones that can be put aside for later or disregarded altogether.2. What challenges or obstacles did you encounter last year? List how you dealt with them and the outcomes – whether you were successful or not – and how you will avoid them in the future.3. Define your passion. What do you really want to be doing? Are you doing it, or is your current career or business taking you in the direction of your dream? If not, how can you reconcile what you are doing now with what you want to do?4. Define your ideal client: What do they look like? Where do they live or work? How much money do they have to spend? What type of project will they present you with? What will your working relationship be like?5. Research your competition – their clients, service offerings, and pricing – especially your number one competitor.6. Define where your business will be in the next year. This, along with Step 7, will probably be the longest part of the process. Take some time to visualize how your company or career will look. Walk through a typical day. Outline the financials. Determine how you want to feel on December 31st.7. Outline the steps to make your goals for the next year a reality based on your plans from Step 6. Begin with a general outline, and then get more detailed, developing a monthly worksheet or guide.8. Make sure all of your marketing and public relations materials are consistent with the message you want to promote over the next year. Your business cards, brochures, website, and social networking sites should communicate your brand.9. Identify three ways to meet and engage the clients described in Step 4. Define the meeting location. Work on an appealing opening line and your elevator pitch, and describe how you can meet their needs.10. Find an accountability partner – someone who you know will hold you responsible and will question you throughout the year to make sure you follow through with your goals and objectives.© Copyright – Karen A. Maybe you've heard of the book "As a man thinketh."It's a very popular book, however, not as popular as thebible which is where the scripture "As a man thinketh in His heartso is he" is found. Proverbs 23:7What about the power of your words? You can create an atmosphere for healing, peace, Faith and prosperitythrough the words that you speak and you will maximize the impact throughthe word of God, but only if you know how to use it.It is important as women of Faith that we equip ourselves with everytool within our reach.Death and life are in the power of the tongue:and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Proverbs 18:21What are you speaking? Look around you, take inventory of your life. What fruit do you see? Some of what you see is a result of yourwords of life or death. That may sound harsh, however, the damage yourtongue can do to your life is harsh. There's life in the word of God and when we speak life words filledwith the word "confessions" we build a life of POWER!!Take a look at the scripture below for some of the benefits ofrestraining your words.Proverbs 17:27-28: "Whoever restrains his words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding. Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent."It's not easy when you try to do it in the flesh. You must build upyour spirit which will strengthen you.Another thing to consider on the flip side is that your words are powerfuland we are responsible for every word we speak. So whether you desire totake action and use confessions to frame your world or not there is arepercussion."But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken." You could be losing thousand's , maybe millions!Life is passing you by!"Time is fulfilling its assignment waiting on no man.Are you fulfilling your assignment waiting on no man,no-thing?" ___Robin TrambleIf we could reap the benefits of the riches in a placecalled the grave we would probably be able to settlethe financial challenges of this world. Unfortunately wecannot do that. The grave is filled with good intentions. What will good intentions do for them now?I was speaking with a new-found friend and webegan talking about how we are getting older andto what can our lack of success be attributed. Wereached an agreement on one area in particular....procrastination.There is a psychological aspect to the activity of procrastinating. It is known that we can tend to develop a habit that is learnedby our doing certain activities, which don't result in asatisfactory manner, and therefore it may cause us to feeldiscouraged. After continued episodes we don't desire or arenot inspired to continue in that manner. When an opportunitydoes arise for another episode we withdraw because of ourassociation with past feelings surrounding this area.Let's look up the word: ProcrastinationVERB: Inflected forms: pro•cras•ti•nat•ed,pro•cras•ti•nat•ing, pro•cras•ti•natesINTRANSITIVE VERB: To put off doing something, especially out of habitual carelessness or laziness.TRANSITIVE VERB: To postpone or delay needlessly.http://www.bartleby.com/61/82/P0578200.htmlLaziness? Yes, it includes laziness. If we're honest withourselves we can find some areas of laziness where itconcerns pursuing our goals, completing tasks, taking timeto show love to our loved ones with a phonecall, letter, card or even a visit. My husband and I have experienced the grief of feelingthe urge to call a loved one and express our love onlyto receive a call one week later that this individual is gone.Pain? Yes! Did we learn anything from that experience. Most definitely, we don't put off calling our loved ones.My question would be why do we put off doing something? Why do we postpone or delay needlessly? You'll find the following asnoted in my ebook The Dynamic Power of Focus1. Fear - I believe we are held captives by our fears of failure, incompletion, anxiety etc.2. Lack of purpose - If we would search for the fullness of ourpurpose in life we would be ignited with a passion for life andpursue avenues to propel us toward our goals.3. Lack of passion - Passion will drive you, energize you andpull you toward success. Passion will move you toward acontinued pursuit of success in live.4. Health challenges - If your health is in a poor state, you will postpone activities that tend to remind you ofexhaustion, pain, discomfort etc. There are a few steps you can take to begin your journeyto overcome procrastination.Prayer - Father God is ready and willing to help you.Ask Him for supernatural wisdom, knowledge and understanding.Re-ignite your passion for your purpose in life.If you don't know your purpose, one simple way is to takeinventory of what you enjoyed as a child. What is it that you woulddo whether you were paid or not. Many times we are influencedby family, friends or society away from certain activities thatwe truly enjoyed.Begin setting short term reachable goals. Don't start with a goalsuch as "I will lose 20 lbs in 30 days". You are settingyourself up for the feeling of failure and incompletion. You want to setyour self up for victories. Start with things you can do daily towork toward reaching your long term goals.Reward yourself for achieving your goals.Spend time daily reading the bible. Prayer and reading your biblewill re-freshen your vision for life. The above are a few steps to set you back on the road to productivitywhich will ultimately result in good success. Do you want to live?Procrastination is stealing lives, ideas, relationships, destiny andthe list goes on.Don't wait till tomorrow. Who knows whether it is promised.(c) Robin G. Change Your Mind and Shift Your Paradigm: Using Positive Self-Talk to Conquer Any GoalBy V. Ivana Foster, The Confidence ArchitectFounder and Owner of The North Star Life Empowerment Program, Platinum Level Coaching for Success Driven Divas.Do you feel like you are always talking yourself out of success? As soon as you start to set goals for yourself, do you suddenly have nagging thoughts about how you aren't up to the task or how you simply aren't qualified to carry it through? If you have ever experienced either situation, you need to change the way you respond to your inner dialogue. Instead of obeying your negative commands, you can use positive self-talk to counter the negativity and overcome nearly all anxious thoughts.Setting Goals and Sticking to Them with Positive Self-TalkAre you initially filled with excitement when you first set goals for yourself? Are these thoughts then followed by self-doubt and self-defeating thoughts that stop you in your tracks before you even get started? It can be difficult to make the most of your life when you are constantly talking yourself out of being a success. It can be frustrating and discouraging to have these thoughts constantly plaguing you. Many of us, in fact, don't even realize we have them! All we know is that we don't have the confidence to stick to our plans and reach our goals. But there's another way!Positive self-talk is an effective way to set goals and ensure that you stick to them, even if you have never been able to do this before. The way this works is that you decide what goal is important to you, and then you plan the logistics of how you are going to attain this goal. When self-doubt starts kicking in, you will respond with affirmations that prove your success without surrendering to the negative pressure. Since you're reading this article, it's clear that you're no quitter and you're certainly not a failure, so start believing in yourself!Re-Programming Your MindAffirmations are essentially positive statements that re-program your mind for the positive. The moment you have a self-defeating thought you'd be able to counter the negative with a motivating statement. An example of a positive affirmation is: "I am worthy of great success," or "I see myself in the winner's circle." What this does is replace negativity with thoughts that will help you move toward your goals instead of further away from them.Positive self-talk is easier to implement than you might think. You may not be aware of the severity of the negative dialogue currently within your mind. However, once you begin with positive self-talk, you will suddenly realize that you are self-sabotaging the goals you set for yourself from the minute that you make them. This process can open your eyes to exactly how much this inner conversation has been interfering with your life. You'll feel hopeful that you can now set goals and surpass them.Through positive self-talk you will be able easily set long and short-term goals for yourself. And when you use affirmations, you'll have accessible tools to help you push yourself further than ever before. Learning to quiet negativity with positive thoughts is a great move toward setting and attaining future goals with ease.As Always,

You Can Do It!

Naomi's Notes: YOU can do it!by: Naomi HulmeYOU can do it!You CAN DO it!You can do IT!We make our dreams come true or not. It is all up to each of us to make those things happen that we wish for and want. Whatever your "it" is, whether a dream or passion or goal, you really "can do" it if you want it bad enough and work at it hard enough. Ignore the "can'ts" that you hear in your own mind and from others. We have so many choices each day. Think back a year ago of missed opportunities that either you weren't financially or professionally or emotionally ready for. What if you had planned ahead and were ready for any and all opportunities that came your way. Imagine how and what you would be doing. Now think back five years ago and come forward. There were probably some opportunities that you were able to jump on and make use of in that time. What other opportunities do you see that either you or your family missed? No matter where you are today, you can choose today going forward to have a great, optimistic, positive attitude about every area of your life. You CAN accomplish anything you set out to do. Sometimes we have to get creative to get through the stumbling blocks.Start planning now to watch for any positive opportunities that God puts in your path.According to David McNally, in his book Even Eagles Need a Push, he stated, "Those who learn to soar have the courage to take a positive attitude toward life. They understand that life offers many surprises but believe that within those surprises are lessons - and that from the lessons comes wisdom. A positive attitude requires courage because it is a decision not to be defeated no matter what challenges life presents.""Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any one thing."Abraham Lincoln"A happy person is not a person in a certain set of circumstances, but rather a person with a certain set of attitudes."Hugh DownsJeffrey Gitomer's Little Gold Book of Yes! Attitude says, "A large part of attitude achievement is the visualization. It's easier to visualize YES! than it is to visualize positive. When something great happens, no one screams, "Positive!" Everyone screams, "YES!" That's the difference. That's the YES! factor."Each day, do one thing that helps you get where you want to be. Mix that one thing in your schedule no matter how busy you are. At the end of one year, you will have stretched and grown personally and professionally in so many ways. You will then start to add new directions to your original dream. Just imagine how much more purpose you will have in your life. Go for it!

Setting Healthy Goals

The first step to achieving results is setting a realistic goal. No matter what the reason, successful and healthy weight management depends on sensible goals and expectations. If you set sensible goals for yourself, chances are you'll be more likely to meet them and have a better chance of managing your weight long term.

Setting healthy goals at the start of an ongoing program can help you change and improve your physical activity and eating habits. To set goals that are right for you, think about what you want to change and why, and what steps you can take to reach your goal. These changes don’t have to be big. Even small steps can make a difference. Also, think about who can help you, and how you’ll reward yourself for making these changes.

5 Steps to Setting Goals

Make a choice - Look at your body, your quality of life. What do you really want to have?
Be specific - Leave no detail left behind.
Find Your Reason – Now that you know what you want to change, ask yourself WHY?
Form your plan – What is it going to take to get there? What are you going to have to do?
Take action - Do you know what the number one cause of failure is in most people’s lives? Never taking action. We develop these comfort zones and become afraid to step out of those boundaries and really go after our goals. We know that we must change; we know that we have to follow our plan to be happy, but seldom do. Do not let your written plan of action go to waste. Start immediately on working towards your goals!

The High Pay Off Task

Time management skills are vital for the small business owner. The need to manage your time is not a new concept. However, many neglect to prioritize their tasks. Every single day you must have a list of things you will accomplish. From that list you need to identify "the high payoff task".The high payoff task is the project that is in direct alignment with your goals and dreams. Many people consider the high payoff task to be that which will bring them money. Do not fall into this trap. The high payoff task will deliver something of true value to you, something more important than instant monetary gratification. When you complete that task it will have either moved you to the next level, or opened the doorway to the staircase that will take you there. It places you in a position to grow.Unfortunately, it is often hard to distinguish what the high payoff task for the day will be. We often have a list of things that we want to do, don't want to do or should have done all rolled into one. The key is to decipher from that list which project will bring you both joy and growth. The beauty of it is this, there is not a list of steps you have to follow to determine the high payoff task. Nor is there a key ingredient to creating one. It is simply a matter of getting in touch with your feelings and emotions. When you're engaging in your high payoff task you will know it because you will feel on fire. Every step and every decision will flow with ease.Sometimes we can identify the high payoff task before we even begin. If you read an item on your list and you become excited and feel good at the prospect of completing that task then you have identified your high pay off task. Other times we don't identify the high payoff task until we're knee deep in it. You may say things to yourself like "wow this is easier than I thought it would be" or "I feel like I'm actually making progress" and you will take pleasure in completing this task.Yet, what happens most often is that you find the high payoff task outside of the list. It may be as simple as an unexpected phone call, email or a chance meeting. It appears in the little things that make you say, "that just made my day"! This experience energizes and refuels you and this is what the high payoff task does. When something keeps you motivated and actively moving towards your goal or ignites you inner desires and your passion for life, you've found your high payoff task.Keep your eyes open because it may be in disguise, but it will always bring you happiness.Lyndsey Shaffer is the co- founder of the Onyx Six - Women of Color Business Network www.onyxsix.com.
