WOMEN (458)

To All the Married Sisters I hope the Day is All you want it to be. To my single Sisters, like me. Keep your head up and if you don't have a special someone in your life to show you how special you are, Then Dangit Show Your Self how special You are. Go out and have that fabulous dinner you read about, tell the staff you're dining alone.(When I do this I get treated like royalty. The staff becomes uber protective and will even check guys they know may be of questionable character. They respect your havingthe moxy to come in alone.) Don't sit around waiting for Prince Charming to come and rescue you. Go out and enjoy this day you deserve it.

Please don't begrudge a married sister her due or wish you were in her place. (Especially don't act on that last thought!). Being alone does not mean being lonely. Celebrate Your Self in all your magnificence. When your are happy and eenjoying yourself you radiate that beauty outward and that is what will attract your perfect mate.

Michelle Stepping down off her soapbox now. Smile

Have a Wonderful Day

Peace.

I was talking to a friend and avid blogger recently about how much time and effort goes into starting and growing a blog.  She talked about a client who recently started a blog but frustrated from lack of followers.  So typical!  Natalie MacNeil, Media Producer and award winning blogger for “She Takes on the World, says, “Remember, it's not about you. When I ask most new bloggers what they want out of blogging they usually want to grow their business, sell more products, and maybe make money directly from blogging. Once they finish telling me everything they want out of blogging I say, "Now what does your audience want?" That answer doesn't come as quickly and that's the most important question bloggers need to ask themselves. At the end of the day, the success of your blog will depend on how focused you are on the needs and wants of the people who read your blog. It's all about them.

Nearly two years has passed since I first launched my blog.  I remember having a few followers and posts.  I was determined to create a quality and informative blog so that my target market, aspiring and established women entrepreneurs, could find good content relevant to their business needs.

If you are a business owner, should you be blogging?
To blog or not to blog, is the question? The answer is that as an entrepreneur, this is a great opportunity to establish yourself as an expert in your industry. If executed effectively, this can be a smart online marketing strategy and an affordable way to grow your business. Blogging is ‘big business’ among entrepreneurs, writers and those who just want to express themselves thru electronic communication. More and more businesses are blogging as they realize the benefits. If you have yet to start a blog, here are FOUR reasons you want to start blogging, today:

Reason 1: Build a loyal following
As you post relevant content regularly, you build a loyal group of followers. Be patient as it takes time. As your followers get to know you, they will feel comfortable in passing on leads and referring you to potential clients. Remember the old saying, people buy and refer people that they know and trust.

I recently listened to the Tom Joyner Morning Show, and Jacque Reed, was interviewing blogger Necole Bitchy who just three short years ago, was unemployed and decided to start a blog out of necessity. Today, NecoleBitchie.com is considered one of the fastest growing celebrity urban blog sites on the internet, with over 3 million hits per month. So, be persistent and consistent with your efforts.

Reason 2: Get paid for blogging
If you write good content, build your following, as you can get paid by advertisers. Many bloggers publish their blogs mainly to earn revenue. For example, you can be compensated for a paid review, writing articles, a ghostwriting gig or simply posting ads on your blog site. Many advertisers look for bloggers with a large following.

A few sites that can help you:
  • Google Ad Sense. This is a free program that enables website publishers of all sizes to display relevant Google ads and earn. http://tinyurl.com/ygt6y2h
  • Link Share. A leading provider of full-service online marketing solutions specializing in the areas of Search (SEM), Lead Generation and Affiliate Marketing. Link Share pays for affiliate marketing. http://www.linkshare.com/
  • PayPerPost. This site allows you to make money blogging! You can pick your advertisers, name your own price and negotiate your own deals. https://payperpost.com/
  • Sponsored Review. Bloggers write articles for advertisers after reviewing their products and services. Blogs are posted for review on your blog. Each advertiser has his or her own requirements. Bloggers can earn anything from $10 to $500+ for each review. www.sponsoredreviews.com
Reason 3: Publish your blog articles
There are several online sites where you can submit your articles for publication. Here are a few:
  • www.ezinearticles.com. Expert Authors & Writers are able to post their articles to be featured within the site. The searchable database of hundreds of thousands of quality original articles allows email newsletter publishers hungry for fresh content to find articles that they can use for inclusion within their next newsletter.
  • www.associatedcontent.com. Associated Content enables anyone to participate in the new content economy by publishing content on any topic, in any format (text, video, audio and images), and connects that content to consumers, partners and advertisers.
  • www.articlesbase.com. Articles Base is a free article directory where you can submit and find articles. You can publish your articles for free or find content for your website, ezine, or newsletter.
Reason 4: Post your blog on Social Media Sites
For entrepreneurs using social media as a marketing strategy is a great way to build your business, with minimal to no investment except your time and effort.
  • Facebook - Create a Facebook profile and add the "My Blog Application." Again, join groups and pages that pertain to your blog topic and interact with other members. Share your link with pages and groups and participate in discussion topics.
  • Twitter - Twitter allows you to post updates (called Tweets) as often as you want (and limited to 140 characters). When people follow you, they see your tweets. So, by posting the link to your blog, your followers can follow the link back to your blog. If they like the content, they will retweet it.
  • LinkedIn - LinkedIn's edge is the fact that it's tailored for businesspeople, unlike other social networking sites that also attract a great number of general users. You can use LinkedIn to network with people or groups, or answer questions that other members ask, thus, providing a link to your blog as a reference.
  • Digg – The ultimate social media site; it’s become notorious for producing traffic waves so massive that they can have a DOS-style impact on smaller hosts.
  • Stumble Upon – Helps members discover and share great websites. As you click Stumble, the site delivers high-quality pages matched to your personal preferences. These pages have been explicitly recommended by your friends or one of 8 million+ other web surfers with interests similar to you.
  • del.icio.us – A social bookmarking website; users can mark their favorites with del.icio.us and share them with each other; making it onto the front page of the “recently popular” section on del.icio.us will send a decent amount of traffic so long as the category you’re tagged into is popular.
There are many ways that you can get the most out of promoting and marketing your blog. By incorporating blogging as part of your internet marketing strategy positions your business to be found in the search engines by those that are interested in your product or service.

10 Ways to Build Your Business Credit

Let's face it, your personal and business credit is essential to your financial health as a small business owner. It's important to understand this and learn as much as you can about building and maintaining a good credit score for your business.

Having a business credit score of 75 or higher through Dun & Bradstreet is essential and can help you especially when trying to get lines of credit with vendors.  While cash loans, such as an SBA loan, micro loan or personal signature loan will require a review of your personal credit - your business credit score will help also in making a final decision.

Much has changed in the business credit industry today.  It used to be that you didn't need to always use your personal credit history when applying for small business loans or lines of credit, but that's not the case anymore.  You'll need a personal credit score of at least 680 and again, a D&B score of at least 75.  If your personal score is less than 680, it's time to start working on it right away.

Building your business credit is not something that can be done over night, but it is a gradual process that occurs over a period of time.  As your business grows your business credit worthiness should get stronger and stronger.

A good business credit score will assist in getting business loans, lines of credit and minority or woman-owned certified.  Your business credit worthiness is an essential part of growing your business and it also shows your leadership ability as the owner or CEO.

Below are 10 ways you can get started in building your business credit:

   1. Consider changing the structure of your business to a corporation, such as a Limited Liability Corporation better known as the LLC.  This is the most common structure that many small and micro businesses are using.   If you are not certain of the structure for your business make sure you discuss it with your accountant or attorney.

   2. Apply for a business checking account.  This is an essential part of the process in legitimizing your business.  It will be important for you to keep all of your expenses separate.  This is very important to do if you're incorporated especially.  It is also a plus to keep a minimum balance of $2500 in your account at all times.  This helps in establishing your credit worthiness.

   3. Develop your business plan.  Many times when applying for a loan or line of credit you'll be asked for your business plan.  This normally causes a lot of small business owners to procrastinate, because it can cause one to feel overwhelmed just thinking about writing one.  But, it is necessary and remember to get help doing it.  You don't have to write it alone and neither do you have to create a long 100 page document.

   4. Gather your business financials. Most of the time a lender or loan specialist will also ask you for financials.  This will include the Business Checking Statements, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Projection and Tax Statements.  Depending on the number of years you have been in business be prepared to provide up to 3 years of statements.

   5. Apply for your DUNs (a.k.a. D&B) Number.  The DUNS number is a 9-digit number that is used worldwide in tracking more than 100 million businesses.  It helps to build your company's credibility and helps vendors, lending agencies and others to verify that you are running a legitimate business.

   6. Apply for a business phone line that can provide you with a 411 directory listing.  This is normally with your local phone company.  Validating a business phone number is normally the first thing that vendors do to verify that you are indeed a real business.

   7. If you're a home-based business, consider also using a virtual office service that has a commercial address (not a PO Box or UPS Store).  This means that you should be able to receive packages there and anyone should be able to visit the office and ask for you or your company by name.  There are many such services popping up all of the US, so you shouldn't have a problem finding one.

   8. Make sure that any services you use are in the name of your corporation.  This should include: cell phone, office lease, any machine leases, business services etc.

   9. Start applying for business credit with vendors (Staples, Office Depot etc.) that report to business credit agencies, such as Dun & Bradstreet and Experian.  Make a list of items that you need in your business that can be purchased through a line of credit or lease, instead of using cash.  Don't just trust a vendor's word that they report to business credit agencies; ask if they have it in writing in their literature or credit applications.

  10. Only use 35-50% of your business credit cards spending limit. Business creditors get very nervous when you use anything larger from your spending limit and especially when you don't pay it off within 30 days.  This shows that you might be having a cash flow problem and they run from that.

Once you have received your D&B number, consider using the D&B File Creator Service.  This allows you to quickly place business accounts on your file and helps to establish your credit worthiness quicker.  In addition, it will be important to check your business credit profile at least quarterly to ensure that everything is being reported properly and that your score is getting higher.

As you build your business credit, it is also important to understand the importance of paying your accounts payables at least 7-15 days ahead of time.  This goes over well with business creditors and is reported on your Dun & Bradstreet credit report, which helps your score to go higher.

The information points provided above are suggestions based on the success that others have had in building their business credit.  It is not a conclusive list and there are many other things to consider when working on building your company's financial reputation.  However, it's a start in the right direction.

Resolution or Revolution?

As is custom at the beginning of a New Year the mind turns fondly to self-improvement endeavors and dreams as yet unmet. What might be different is the approach one takes in order to make those changes. Do you solemnly swear that THIS year, things are going to be really different? Or have you come to the conclusion that it is time for more, much more than a traditional exercise that is frequently abandoned by the wayside a mere few days or weeks later?

Then let us hereby start a revolution, and boldly state that My BAG, my Big Audacious Goals are… what? Fill in the blank. For me, and by that I mean Pink Passport Society of course, my BAG includes doubling our membership, bringing you weekly videos (I just did the trial run today and it was pretty darned fun). Of course what I decided was instead of the waist up – oh no, full length was never under consideration – I will shoot the videos from the chest or neck up. Yeah, much better angle.

Let me tell you of a few more wonders in the New Year:

    The aforementioned weekly Passport Living Video Blog, that includes questions from you, the members;

Our newest partnership brings you an Annual Weeklong Retreat in Maui (sorry, for members only so join today!)

    Passport Inn (our first community program – transitional housing for homeless women vets) is going LIVE this year;

    National Alliance of Philanthropists for Women membership site will be up and running by the 2nd quarter (we want to make sure it is just plump and bursting at the seams with information and resources for the members);

We are planning to take An Evening Prelude to Your Future on the road, with 4 stops this year, one each quarter. First we’re going to take over California and then head east, starting with Las Vegas. I mean, who doesn’t love a good party. Maybe we’ll be the ones to give a real boost to the Vegas economy if our numbers are large enough by then, eh?

Okay, that’s too much good stuff. Let’s talk about you now. If you’ll tune in to the weekly blog, you’ll be getting some real information about boosting your net worth. We’ll help you create your own Prosperity Plan, get you started in investing and otherwise diversifying your income, as well as give you real life accounts of (my) Passport Living so you can learn from my own (mis)adventures!

If you’re reading the blog, visit the website and sign-up: http://PinkPassport.org If you started the excerpt on the website, check out the blog and read the archives http://PinkPassportBlog.com . There’s great info in those golden pages. Shoot me an email @ GuidedJourney@PinkPassport.org and ask me a question I can answer on the video or tell me, what’s your BAG?

How do you plan out your day, week, month for the most productive outcome?

Women’s Empowerment incorporates various components that when successfully integrated will yield a greater return on your endeavors.

As a woman you have many demands on your time, however, if you add that of being a woman entrepreneur it can be a very frustrating task to leverage your time. It may seem that the more you try to balance out your day the less time you end up with.

Do you feel like your day is spent in “firefighter” mode – putting out one emergency blaze after another?

You can easily spend eight hours or more at the beck and call of the urgent activities on your list: The phone call that comes right when you’re sitting down to do some much-needed strategic planning, the unexpected invitation to contribute to a blog round-up, the desperate plea for a last-minute speaker on an industry teleconference. While these all might be worthy tasks, they’re not necessarily related
to your high-level goals. And as a result, the time you’ve set aside for your important activities can be usurped by the tyranny of the urgent.

It is very tempting to check emails all day every hour or answer your phone overtime it rings.

If you want to manifest your EMPIRE by moving toward the next levels quickly you must have a system for focusing on important tasks instead of the urgent ones.

Here are five tips for prioritizing

1. Set expectations. I’ve had mixed feedback on this one. I’ve developed a system and enforce it so that I can remain healthy and sane. When doing this one you must get over what people think of you and commit to what you’ve set as an action to support your empowering success. You train people how to treat you and what to expect from you. If you always respond to their emails immediately, they’ll grow to expect immediate answers. Slowly wean them from expecting you to be on-call, 24/7.

2. Create No distraction zones. Although you may be tempted to shut down your phone, email and other interruptions for 8 – 10 hours, it’s actually not practical to turn off your phone ringer for 8 hours straight, or to check your email only once a day. But you can set up zones where you limit outside interruptions. Start with a no email time first thing in the morning. Institute a quiet time first thing in the morning for one hour.

Get to the cash producing activities before you check email. Once you’ve adjusted to this you can add another quiet zone, maybe in the afternoon right before you quit working. This way you can close your day and have a fresh empowering start the next day.

3.Know what “important” is. No more 10 item to do lists. You have to have your high-level goals in front of you, literally and figuratively. You must know what you’re trying to accomplish this month, this week, today, so you can filter your activities accordingly.

4. Create systems to support your new habits. This one tip has done wonders for some of my clients that I’ve shared it with. Email in-box filters that shuffle non-critical newsletters and group emails to another filter for later reading will help keep you from getting sidetracked. Removing all non-essential programs and icons from your computer desktop (and from your physical desktop, too!) can keep you focused. Figure out where you’re getting derailed and create some boundaries to keep you on task.

You can realize productive days instead of just busy, overwhelming, pull your hair out days, however, as I always say don’t just learn new skills and systems, take targeted action and implement.

I’ll share this and more in more detail during The Empowerment Diva’s Fit and Fabulous Coaching Program/Club.

Here’s to a healthy you and a thriving business!

How Important are Autoresponders to Internet Marketing?

What is an autoresponder?

An autoresponder is a computer program that automatically answers e-mail sent to it.
They can be very simple or quite complex.
Wikipedia dictionary

Think about when you sign up for a Teleseminar or free offer, you enter your
name and address or other requested information. Most times you can expect an
automatic email with either a confirm link for double opt in or a welcome.
This would be very tedious if you had to do it manually.

Internet Marketing and autoresponders essentially
go hand-in-hand. You simply cannot be effective or as productive with your
internet marketing without an autoresponder.

Autoresponders are used to achieve many of the marketing tasks
that are essential to a successful business that utilizes online
tools.

Internet marketing can be very time consuming.
Whether you do affiliate marketing or market your own products, an autoresponder is a big part of your
marketing arsenal. Autoresponders are used to keep in contact with your past customers, and to develop
a relationship with potential customers.

Another great use of an autoresponder is to deliver communication to your opt-in customer
list if you have one. It can be very effective in delivering ecourses, to send reminders and even help
build an opt-in list.

There are many creative ways you can use your autoresponder to make more sales and to build customer relations.

Any successful marketer will tell you that there are two tools that are vital to any type of online
marketing an opt-in list and an autoresponder. In fact, most marketers will agree that you could take
away all of their other marketing tools, but they would fight to the death to keep the list and the
autoresponder!

So don’t shy away from the autoresponder simply because you don’t understand how to use it. This is one
thing that is worth learning. If you can, outsource the set up of your autoresponder to get you started
with your listbuilding strategy. Just do whatever you need to do to take advantage of this resource.

I invite you to connect with me if you need support in setting up your autoresponder. I can suggest a
great *autoresponder, go to http://budurl.com/tryautoresponder and you’ll get a free trial when you use
this link. Send an email to info@RobinTramble.com and we can get you set up with a Coaching A la Carte
strategy session
to get you started on utilizing an autoresponder.

How important are Autoresponders to Internet Marketing? Very important.

*I am an affiliate of the suggested Autoresponder, however, I don’t suggest anything that I don’t back up
100%. If you do connect I may receive a small commission.

4 Parts to a Fabulous Personal Brand Statement

iStock_000008473282XSmall-150x150.jpg?width=150I often hear the question, "how do I develop a personal brand statement?" and my answer stays the same most of the time. A strong personal brand statement can be one of the best tools you can have and certainly one of the most critical ones for your branding and marketing toolkit, whether you are a business owner, or a professional working for someone else.

There are certain components that are variable and others that are pretty foundational in developing your personal brand statement (P.B.S.). Some of the factors that may be variable are:
  • When and how you will use it - e.g. interview for a job? networking situation? speech?
  • Who you're talking to - e.g. language needs to meet the needs of the audience; the message is the same, but the approach should be adaptable
Even though these may change, there are basically four parts I like to use in developing the main statement, so I'll share these next. A great basic statement tells people:
  1. Who you are - let the recipient of the statement know your identity, your name
  2. What you do - the core service or opportunity you provide
  3. Who you do it for - your target audience and/or ideal client you work with

Simple Steps to Creating Your Marketing Map

iStock_000001184887XSmall-150x150.jpg?width=150Solo professionals are like big businesses when it comes to the need for a solid marketing strategy. The distinctive thing about solopreneurs, however, is that you get to be the head decision maker for every part of the business. That means it is all the more important to take your strategies from complex to simple whenever possible.

Now is a great time to develop your branding and marketing plan. While you definitely need to consider mapping out a strategy that is more comprehensive to cover you for at least the next twelve months, here are four simple questions you can answer in order to set a basic foundation for promoting your distinctive brand and services you provide:

How will I generate leads?

This is one of the most critical steps to developing a solid branding and marketing strategy. Assuming you have already identified who your ideal clients are, you must now figure out where to find them. Immerse yourself in studying your target market - find out what they read, where they frequent, and what they buy - and put yourself in front of them.

How will prospects get to do a "taste test" with me?

Before a potential client will buy BIG from you, they will want to know what your services are like. Depending on the business you're in, you will need to decide what is most effective and most practical to give away. For example, you might offer a free strategy session, or a free audio, or even an e-book. What can you offer that will be of interest and take little effort or investment on your part?

How will I direct them from one point to the next?

Now that your prospect has had a taste of what you do and they want more, make it simple for them to know what is next. This involves some thinking on your part of what your marketing funnel looks like. Whenever you engage a client in your product or service, be prepared to promote the next thing and make it easy. At the end of your teleseminar, share the next program or info product. This is the time where you can extend even greater value to your new customer - at the point that you have already made good on your initial promise!

How will I follow up?

The client engagement process usually follows a certain path - suspect --> prospect --> client --> advocate/evangelist. In order to move people through these stages, you need some idea of how to continuously follow up and stay in touch. Whether this looks like a series of autoresponder emails, a regular ezine, postcards, etc. consider how you will stay in front of your leads. The key is to add value to their inbox, not being pesky.
